An Answered Prayer

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

I saw my Dad pressing those buttons profusely to get to another sports channel he enjoys watching in the afternoon. It would have been easy to do that if we did not have 4 TV sets, 3 DVD players and a play station II console. Not to mention the sound system and the couple of speakers we have spread across the living room that use these remote controls. He ended up throwing that out of frustration... and I guess tomorrow I'll be buying another one of those universal remote controls that do not work when you need it.

Different brands, different frequencies, radio wave or infra red we do not have the capability to understand all these complicated and technical things just to be able to switch channels. I hate to spend a couple hundred dollars just to buy a more complicated remote that would not work because you need to decipher hundreds of codes. Since I am the more technical one, I end up getting frustrated too when Mom and Dad asks me to do it for them.

Lo and behold our prayers have been answered! With the use of just one remote to control them all, life would be really easy. They just released the new Yamaha neoHD and this one just gets everything working. The DVD, TV and radio is a cinch to control with just minimal control buttons customized for ease of use. I want to get that thing into my hands now.

They also launched the Yamaha neoHD Sweepstakes for those who want to get this for free! I love them so more since they made it easier for me to get one. My dear readers, try to find them on face book and tell me why do you need the new NEOHD? Are you going to enter the contest like I did? Comments are welcome!

The Plans for the Weekend: Another Major Photoshoot!

Google @ Intramuros (previous shoot of D60KREW)

This weekend will be great since I will be part of the KREW that will organize this shoot. we went on an ocular inspection of the place a few weeks ago and agreed to have this shoot on the third week of August. Guess what? It is already the thrid week so this will push through. I contacted the ever reliable Boss Andy and asked about the details of the shoot.

The concept is still HIGH FASHION (one that I have been doing for a couple of shoots now!), the models will be using gowns/long dresses/PUNK outfits. The location of the shoot is very picturesque right in the heart of SHAW/Mandaluyong area, it's an abandoned building, it has character and geometric shapes because of its raw cement exteriors... and... it has a huge view of city scapes (San Juan and Makati Area) and the Golf Course (Wack Wack Golf and Country Club) at the back so be careful we might get hit by golf balls (not a joke!).

We might need additional lighting (so I hope the KREW and Digital Katipuneros bring em all!) coz it is a little dark on some floors while the top one would be great for some day/night shots. It would be probably scheduled around mid to late afternoon since the wind, shadiness and ambiance would be perfect around that time. This is going to be big since Andy would like to have this shoot with Digital Katipuneros... sort of a joint venture... we'll have 6 models 5 girls and a guy(probably Google). I hope you guys are excited as I am!

I hope the whole D60KREW and Digital Katipuneros will come. This will be a riot!

Auditing Professional Certification: A Necessity

The medical industry is in dire need of professionals. The Philippines has eagerly supplied Medical Doctors, Nurses and health professionals other countries since the early 90's. There are still shortages of registered Nurses; care givers in the US, Europe, Japan and other westernized countries because the unemployment and retirement rate has increased in the past few years.

Blue collared positions like Medical Audit specialists also are not exempted since they are needed in the implementation of health programs, industries like insurance companies, private clinics, hospitals and establishments. Certifications from world renowned organizations can set ordinary auditors apart from the rest of the plain graduates coming out of schools. There are certain standards that they will have to meet before getting recognized by the best multinational companies because you just cannot trust anyone your hard earned money.

This is where the American Association of Medical Audit Specialists has been pioneering in this industry as they have certified CMAS professionals for a few years now. It inculcates recognition from peers, the organization and the community as a whole. Getting this on your credentials is definitely a plus for this awesome profession. Without it, life would be less than ordinary. So make sure if you are in the auditing business, get your people certification that they need. It is a necessity in these harsh economic times.

MANILA COMIC CON 2009

Sunday, August 09, 2009

Here are pictures from this morning's comic convention 2009 in Megamall.

ENJOY!!! c^^,)

It was a warm Saturday afternoon, since I was not scheduled for a photo shoot this weekend I was lounging around the house sitting here and there and binge eating again on Twizzlers and popcorn (weird combination huh?!) I was on a diet so I had to think of a way to entertain my self. So I got up from bed and decided I've got to get my clicking urge satisfied today. There was an event being talked about a forum I frequent and it was held in Megamall. The Metro Comic Convention 2009! It was my first time attending the event and of course I was not there just for the ladies! (^_^) I was there to shoot interesting subjects, I was not disappointed! From Toys, Comic books, COSPLAY people, models, the list just goes on and on. I was not afraid to go there alone though... well to think about it this was the first time I was planning to shoot alone... aside from food reviews I do every now and then.

I got there around 2 or 3PM I think and saw the cosplayers sitting outside Megatrade hall where they usually do these events. It was nice, I had the first few shots dedicated to them but then I saw the life size figures in the center so I concentrated more on that and the toys. That was really good shooting because the images I saw after that were great... I saw some of the D60KREW photographers there also so in the end I wasn't really alone. I had so much fun as you can see because I got so many out of those few hours spent inside the comic con. I am sure I'll be back next year!
