This day was great. I was able to shoot people from my beloved Alma Mater and boy did I enjoy it! The University of the East was still almost the same as when I last saw it but a lot of things had been added to the facilities that we used to have. A whole 10 or 8 story building was on the center where the old shop was and it was complete with fully air conditioned rooms, major rooms for organizations, a huge library on the topmost floor. elevators and more helipads for you know who. I had a nice time reminiscing and recalling everything around that campus. I even got the others interested about what I knew of the place when I was there. It was a really special day again and it seems that I am getting so luckier every minute. Is this all because I tried to help people and everything is returning to me tenfold? I feel so lucky sometimes that I am quite afraid that these all would be taken back from me. I wonder how this story will end but I know there should never be a repercussion to what I am doing today, I should never even think about it.
Together with my co photographers from the D60krew, we shot people who were participants of the Mr. and Ms. UE pageant. They were all nice don't get me wrong but I think there were more good looking people in our time. I would not want to point fingers but if you really saw the batch of contestants that joined before there was really a huge difference. Call me biased but if you really saw them on the previous format, it could have been so much better. People then only had 1 set of contestants to send so the college they belong to fully support them. The format now had everybody else to join and got them to even pair up with other colleges so it is like a free for all thing. The drawback is only their friends would probably support them now. I hope they know what they are doing!
I went back to Mama Lengs which is a not so posh place to hang out but boy they had the best pork chops and tapsilog when I was in college. I really missed eating there so I went ahead and invited the guys to that place and check it out, only to find out that the other 2 branches already closed down. Mama Leng had to survive with only one and it was okay for their business to flourish throughout these years. At least they are still there no matter how much ketchup I had on my plate! Hahaha, I wish I had my friends over too when I got my porksisilog ravaged in less than 10 minutes. It was a nice thing to do when all I do now is review restaurants and the only thing that made me happy was cold rice and a slice of salted pork chop LOL! It was a great day for me and I hope you guys have one too!
Show My University Fashion Photography
Tomorrow marks another special event in my entire life; I will be going back again to my University. I was contacted for my expertise in portraiture because they were planning to have all the contestants of Mr. and Ms. UE be shot and chosen a winner for the Mr. and Ms. Photogenic Award. I know it was going to be a great shoot even on short notice and I will be getting my work posted on site. That is one good advice for the wise home owner for this month.
My photography has definitely taken me places that I have never been before but this has been another good twist to my story. I will be employing another new work flow for this set and sure enough I want to have a different form factor for this one since it is going to be surely memorable. I learned on an article that getting a work flow arranged before post processing is vital to the success of photography techniques employed on a subject. It can make or break you in most instances. This is where the last thing to enhance your photo happens and without a proper process you would not be able to get better output. I love photography and this is the time I will be showing my University how this is done. I am excited to let them know how I have been faring in this field. This is the time to show them my passion and the vast things I have learned about Zone Focusing. Here we go!
Shopping with Folks
Friday, January 08, 2010
This day was super tiring. After going out at 7am from the office I wrote some articles for my site until the afternoon then we went out to see the dentist afterward. As if the day was not done yet, they got me to go to SM Megamall and Shangrila for shopping. It was nice to do that but imagine I haven't slept yet since yesterday afternoon too! I've been awake for like 32 hours straight and I feel my feet numbing a bit while walking. Yes that is how I feel, a dead man walking.
Surely it looks tough... because it definitely is. I bought my self a couple of things though. One is the shoes that would go with the Avel Bacudio outfit I'm gonna have on Tuesday. I also have gone out with folks so that means we also kinda bonded even if I didn't realize it. I love how the day ended because I got to enjoy the whole Friday itself. I never get to spend it this way before and even if I am constantly tired and asking each other silly stuff I want to still do it with my folks no matter how mushy that sounds. =)
My Golf Dreams
Some of you probably know that I do have a big handicap. No it is not that sort of ailment you are thinking about, but a handicap at golf. I dreamed of it again this evening. I play every time my Uncle asks me to tag along in local country clubs and it is so relaxing. It is the symphony of emotions and game play that makes this a worthwhile hobby to get. This is quite expensive here in the Philippines but if you think about the other places we could go to then you will be exquisitely addicted!
Like the newly renovated fairway at the Georgia Golf Resort which houses the King and Prince Golf Course and the world renowned Hampton Club. If I only had one wish then it would be this ideal destination. I want to feel the breeze and smell the fresh cut grass of the King and Prince Golf Course. I would not want anything less. We probably just need to listen to people who have experienced the place first hand. I would also want to check out their packages if my trips come late this year pushes through.
Watch out for that golf ball hitting your window pane soon! Ha-ha! I'll be there!
