Writing Advice

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

There are some folks over at the Red Tribe Forums that were asking me for advice about writing. I said heck I don't know! I just write how I feel and it just comes naturally. If I like something, I write about it. If I get inspired, I write about it. If I get irked about something, I write about it. That's the reason why this site already is discussing anything under the sun! Because personally I have not concentrated on one thing, I just do what I feel and if it comes to a point that it is going to be about writing, I set myself free and just type what I have in my brain at that time. Nothing unusual about that... but most of them don't know how to start. Maybe they just need to get inspired. This is really not a disciplined format of writing... I guess I follow one rule though... just common sense. The others are for losers so if I am going to teach them how to write then I will just have to tell them to write about what they want.

Writing about what you are passionate about is the key. Whatever the subject maybe make sure that your interest resides on it. Describe it for the reader. Make sure you point out what you like and dislike about it. What makes it special for you... and make sure your reader gets the point. I had a long time of writing stuff before that was not that much appealing because of jargons I used. I changed that and made it simple... voila! I had readers afterwards.

Making this blog a success would need that same niche I had before so will have to continue what I am doing and get as many readers as possible. We are afterall making life more interesting for other people by telling our own stories. Now isn't that fun! =)

Troubling News Again

Monday, March 08, 2010

It's so troubling to hear on Larry King that another 13 year old girl was raped and killed. These things keep happening on a modern day in the US and I think it is inexcusable. Why do these former prisoners that are out on a bail just freely roam out in the public without government supervision? I wonder what ordinary residents would feel if their neighbors are sex offenders. I wonder how they would feel if this is the real picture in other states and they could not do anything about it. There should be a continued effort from both private and public sector to educate these people and prevent repeat offenders. I do not know about what the congress could do but I am for harsher punishment for parole violators. Mississippi sex offender reports are available on line and I hope other states and countries have this too. It would be beneficial to just get hold of that information. I believe in giving access to the public and this is just an example of that. I believe in second chances but I also know that the choice of living in a safe neighborhood should be given priority. I would want my own family to live somewhere safe and free from worries. If I work all day and come back to my wife and kids knowing that they are safe then that would be the greatest reward I could receive from the government. Make sure you check out sites that provide this data so before you even purchase a house you at least would get an idea how the community works. This should never be endemic to any place anytime.

Back to Church

I just went to church last Saturday evening. Well I dunno really what to feel but I'm definitely afraid my nightmares would occur again. Christ the King church is not that bad but boy it was definitely hot there. There is a ventilation problem plus the audio sucks because I couldn't really understand the priest. It's like everything's garbled. Now where else can you get someone going to church and complaining about it hahahaha!

I went there for the prayers and of course to accompany my Mom who has been the best thing that happened to me. We ate after that in Red Ribbon. I don't know but I think that store is getting under rated too. Their palabok and dinuguan is awesome. I like it a lot but they phased out their puto which makes it hard for me to eat the latter. Their drinks were not that complete too, I wonder what happened to that branch. That was supposed to be their main one and it looks like its not getting any better through the years. I would not be surprised if it closes down anytime soon. Either that or they have to renovate the place. It is deteriorating.

Celebrating with my Mom was one of the best things that happened this year. I know its quite simple, but it for me it is priceless. It may not be as big as anyone thought but it is the best one for me. Thanks for everything Mom I had fun!

You Can Never Be Too Safe!

Saturday, March 06, 2010

Things have been pretty rampant after the economic crisis that has stricken the country. Crime rate is at an all time high and I did not think I get to live in one community that has this problem too. I can imagine since the shopping district already had put up security they probably all the hooligans from that area transferring to the more residential part of the town such as ours. I never thought it would be a problem but I just heard someone got raped and killed here two weeks ago. I was shocked because we are a pretty quiet neighborhood and hearing stories like that made everyone's jaw drop. I think in this day and age, not everywhere is safe. But we all should take precautionary measures. Local officials should work hand in hand with people from the national government and fund registries of people who have committed these crimes. I know we all have to give second chances but not in the expense of ordinary citizens. When the suspect was actually caught yesterday evening, investigators said that he had been in and out of the prison. What's worse is it's also their relative. I just thank the heavens for sparing everyone else since this has been solved. I hope the government puts up listings like the one I saw for some texas sex offender when I was in the US. At least before you do live in a neighborhood you already know what to do when it does happen. You can never be too safe!
