Pahiyas Festival Jitters
Friday, May 14, 2010
I am a little excited because my friends from the D60KREW are fixing a trip this Saturday in the south of Manila. A few hours travel would get us into the great town of Quezon for the Pahiyas Festival. I know we haven't done anything like this in a while and I think it is high time that we go and maximize our lenses. We need to have extra preparations in doing this since we are a little lagging with vehicles. We are hiring professionals so I hope this goes as to what we have planned.
I want to also eat Pansit Hab hab. I want to drink lots of buko juice. I want them cold. I want to also eat lucban longaniza. I want to eat all of them LOL.
I want to shoot people looking at their windows. I want to shoot kipings that are so over colorful. I want to also shoot carabaos in the road. I want to do portraits with old people. I want to maximize the use of my zoom lens. I want to see how it performs in very long distances. I want to walk with the parade and go inside houses where we do not even know a single person. I want to do all of that in a single day and spend time with the troops of the D60KREW. It has been long awaited and I am sure we will have a ton of laughs after this weekend. I hope I do justice with the colors I get with my camera. It just got cleaned recently and I want to see those sharp images fly! =)
Neil Kornswiet and San Francisco
It's so hard to even think about getting a place of your own these days but if the need arises you really have no choice. My friends from San Francisco did experience a lot of hardships when the financial crisis struck the US. Aside from moving into a smaller home they need to have one they can afford. Since they got new jobs for T and W who are - let's say the biggest retail stores in the US - now is the time for a bigger one so they can live comfortably. I know in some way Neil Kornswiet and other real estate professionals can help them get that new dream house back. They have real great information about real estate advice. I see that they always know the big potential of a place. If I couldn't get to them maybe these experts would do.
I've read some very convincing thoughts from Neil Kornswiet and have seen Seattle to be in the same state. Though the figures of the economic turmoil greatly affected the country they are still optimistic that there would be space for recovery. I wouldn't give up on mere initial numbers. It's not a losing battle and if I need to fight for the value of our home, I'd be in the front line and have my friends get their well deserved home.

Oh no! It's Johnny Rockets!

It's high time we do another food review for a restaurant I just visited today. It's Johnny Rockets in Eastwood City.
I ordered a Chili Dog with enormous servings of fries. My co workers ordered Philly Cheese steak with and without the sauteed bell peppers. This was a challenge for me since I was in a diet before this but I know I wouldn't disappoint myself from gorging the actual food I am about to eat. It maybe a question if I can devour that much fries since they offer it all for free.
I started eating the tail end of it and tasted the chili on top and it wasn't really that special. It tasted kinda little older than the chili we buy at 711 and I think the one in the convenience store is wayyyy better. The onion and cheese combination with it plus the sausage made the difference but then again it is a CHILI DOG, which means I need to say something special with the chili... apparently I didn't like it that much.
As with the Strawberry shake I was dripping all those saliva for, it was nothing but vanilla ice cream with strawberry syrup. It was not as special as the milkshake McDonalds used to have. I would probably order the malt next time if there would be really a next time.
The Philly Cheese Steak, according to arpee and jessie it was just okay. The size was alright but not as big as the original philly cheese steak, the cost is big but I think what made it worse was the bland taste. Were they disappointed?! Yes... Johnny Rockets could have done a better job at the cheese steak too, properly seasoning it and making the cheese flavor more prominent would be perfect but that would take them a long while before getting some of the people to try out their store.
An amusing thing there though was the dance number they do every now and then. Awkward to look at though when you are inside the diner. All American diner? Nope, not yet! This gets 3 out of 5 kumags since it did fill me up, thank gawd I like fries!

Next Theme: Jeans!
Wednesday, May 12, 2010
I do fashion photography and I think I pretty much have gained confidence in choosing what I want for a model to wear. I want a specific photo shoot to coincide with what I think is the perfect look so I also have something to brag about with my photos. The next theme I wanted to have was a shoot where everyone was clad in jeans. I want something that looks very rustic and grunge with some dirty spots here and there. They don't have to be expensive. Discount Designer Jeans would do the job. I would also like to add a couple of sequences where the models will be shot wet and shiny. If I need to use glycerin then I would do the same thing they did in ANTM. That would really be fierce!
I also saw some Miss Me Jeans and I think they would be good for the female form. The snug fit it will have on the body will count for a more appealing look. You know those tight jeans you see with women in bars and clubs in the metro?! That is exactly what I want to see. If we do not have a stylist or fashion designer available; a trip to the Seven Jeans Sale might be an appropriate solution. I wish to have this awesome theme done soon and have my peers jaw drop after that!
