Upgrading my Blackberry Curve 8320

Saturday, September 11, 2010

I'm currently upgrading my Blackberry Curve to the latest OS version v4.5.0.52. I hope this one has certain improvements than my current OS. Mine boots up a little too long and I saw that on the release notes this frees up a meg or more of memory. I also hope this doesn't get my phonebook deleted otherwise I'll have to kill people.

I'm having a hard time doing the backup procedure but I think I got it now. It just needs to specifically find the application meaning you have to browse for it manually since it doesn't do that automatically when you install the launcher. This is not going to be easy for novice users and they need instructions to do so. I'm choosing US as my location since there are no options to choose the Philippines in the list. Now I have to wait for at least an hour while it is updating and NOT TOUCH the blackberry for that long.

If this is successful and did not erase any of my entries in the phonebook I'm really going to celebrate with a big breakfast. I am a little stressed so early in the morning since I am doing it around 4am. You how that feels right?!

Oh and did I mention my idol Xander Angeles tweeted me two days ago telling me to shoot with him the next day? I found his tweet the 2days after unfortunately. I am such a loser. =( I hate it when that happens. Twitter is really such a pain if you just depend on it plainly. I missed a major opportunity and by golly I missed one BIGTIME!

I want to throw my phone out the window now. LOL

Wealth from Forestry and Timber

Friday, September 10, 2010

My country is blessed by awesome natural resources. It has hectares upon hectares of its land covered in hardwood trees, fruit bearing ones, flora and fauna. I have an idea on how extremely rich we are in this part of the world. I am not surprised they even describe the island formation as a man sitting in a pot of gold. Funny I know, but in retrospect; it does actually make sense.

With billions of dollars spent in this particular industry since the early ages of shelter engineering, forestry and timber indexes have been greatly profitable even at the toughest of times. I remember my folks used to talk about these things together with the mining operations they invested on in the early 80's. Even though it wasn't needed at that time they still made an effort to get stock options for corporations that operate saw mills and processing plants for this raw material. I have actually considered going this business path in the past but to tell you honestly I barely made terminology classes on this subject. It was naturally passed on to generations and ended up with a few still in it. Some have left because there were famine incidences in our province in the past that forced them to sell parts of it. Generally it stayed with us but without knowledge on this we probably are just headless chickens directly going to the fryer. If it was easy to do in the past, I could have let them contact Greenwood and let them handle forest investment services. Our family might have a better understanding in this industry and invested elsewhere to get through the tough times. Just looking at the various companies in the same field; none of it fared better than them. You should try and see one of their projects here. I'm sure if you took a look at it you'll know what I mean.

We are no Roman Empire; not even Japanese or Mongolian. If you try and think about this subject it all boils down to proper professional management. We don't have some of these businesses exist in our comfort zones; but to tell you the truth I could have paid them now if they can make me earn more in the ever growing industry of forestry and timber. I would love to completely change chairs with people who had their success stories in this field. If you know people interested in this one, make sure you let me know too because I might just as well put in a thing or two.

ANTM Cycle 15

I took a peek at the next batch of America's Next Top Model and am actually impressed. Standouts seem to be the African American Contestants. After flipping over their first shots, it looks like some of them are actually newbies in the field. Though the African American contestants seem to have that edge and attitude. I like their poses but I'm sure there will be a time they'll be doing a lot of other photoshoots to test how they fare in a gazillion of conditions. Some may end up crying and watering off their eyeliners. Some may end up as fashion runway carcasses. I want to see them bare meat but still look very fashion forward. I wish I had the chance to shoot them. Or maybe just a single model from this batch would do wonders for my portfolio. Anyway, if there is a chance in the world this would happen GIVE ME A SIGN!

Maybe soon, I'll have a studio of my own and say I LOVE MY JOB everyday. I am living a dream right now but it would be more wonderful if I can do this every weekend for major magazines and make my own coffee table book in indescribably hard bound covers. I want to have my own thing with a WOW factor to impress the critics of this industry. Maybe soon, but I'm going to have my hopes up. I know I'll make this accidental hobby a full 360 degree explosive version of me! Fashown! =)

Clean Up and Save the Earth!

I still have my old CRT Monitor, old CPU and broken UPS under my table. Apparently no one is disposing it. I don't know if this should be sold by the company or just stay here since my boss paid for it already. It is really hard to get rid of junk from the office. Imagine all the stuff that gets phased out every year. Some of them end up in landfills together with the trash from the metro but there should be a proper way of disposing this. There are corporations which makes recycling electronic devices their bread and butter. I think that is the best alternative that we could do to prevent the chance of improper disposal. How can we help save the Earth when incineration on open air would be the answer of the local government? The huge amount of toxic chemicals would surely be hazardous for you, me and the people you love!

I have been campaigning about this in the past and I think it would be nice for me to rekindle my passion for environmental matters again. Maybe I could start by recommending institutions that can properly dispose of these things and get something in return for corporate spending. That will be a good thing to suggest. I remember a friend once said that you can't help save the Earth without starting in your own backyard. It's simple but if you think about it; it does make sense!

Would you like to be the next hero?! I know I would!
