STOP Child Violence

Friday, December 03, 2010

I wasn't the perfect kid ages ago. I did the most mischievous things you can imagine. Part of the process called "Growing up" I guess huh? Discipline for me was mostly instilled by my Mom. I hate to admit but I am a Mama's boy. She did bring me up quite well but there are several normal Filipino instances where you get hit by flipflops, hangers, belts and tied to a chair occasionally. Don't get me wrong, I didn't think it was too much though because look at me now... I ended up remembering those days but I practically turned out okay. What I don't like is seeing some of the kids in my neighborhood going through corporal punishment to the point of treating them like criminals already. If you get bludgeoned, burned, or beat up, that is too much. That goes for the verbal abuse too. I guess I was slightly affected when this whole campaign for child violence came up in Facebook. I don't blame my Mom for anything because she took it lightly on me. I love her.

I hate people though that hurt their kids too much. I couldn't quite put where to gauge what is too much or not but the assumption on the first paragraph is enough I guess. I want people to change and STOP CHILD VIOLENCE but not to the point of giving them too much freedom that they become ingrates and undisciplined individuals already. Now the deal in Facebook was to change your profile picture to your favorite childhood cartoon character and guess who I chose?

I'm Future Trunks! =)

So make the choice to stop child violence now and change your profile pictures to something you wanted when you were a kid. Change your Twitter, Facebook and all your social networking photos now! =)

We're moving to the other building!

Thursday, December 02, 2010

We're going to transfer to the corporate building and will be leaving this asylum looking one tonight. Although there have been good memories we need a more pleasing place to stay to do business. I had my boss call this current one we are in like a hospital room so there are no arguments about that. The one we're going to is a little better but there's one small problem; we won't have privacy. The walls are made of tempered glass so everyone could literally look at us from the outside. This is not good for us who need some quiet space when doing our job and I wish there was pleated conservatory blinds that we can use to address this issue. I'll contact some people from administration so they can procure them before I step into the other building. That's a great plan!

My team will be handling a lot of communication from the outside world because of new requirements. I will be working hard this month just like what I've been doing in the past. I need privacy just like everybody else in this world and if that small detail would do it for me this would be bliss! I'll try and see if I can make that place a better one than when we found it. If the people before us didn't remove the blinds there we wouldn't have to scuffle so hard to find new ones. Although it would turn out better looking now that I've got my eye on cozy ones I saw on line. It's turning out to be a pretty good day!

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?!

WAR: North Korea, South Korea, US, China, Philippines

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

I know you guys may have been wondering why I'm actually not in the mood to post today. To tell you the truth I'm not 100% okay. I just had dental surgery (to the point of drilling parts of my jawbone) and it is crippling me from going places. I can't even think straight because the pain is excruciating. I hope with the stitches gone it'll heal faster. Now off to some serious matters.

I watched this particular video from CNN. I know the region has been quite nervous from the exchange of words and missile launched by the North but what do you think will happen to us when war breaks? Are you nervous as I am? Maybe not but here are some scenarios that I'm trying not to see when the time comes:

* When war breaks, China will go to the defense of North Korea and US will back up South Korea. They'll both launch nuclear weapons and will spark a bigger war with China and the US. When North Korea becomes dust, the huge smoke and radiation will cover half the globe including the Philippines. No sun, acid rain, we'll all die from it.

*When North Korea wins, they'll conquer South Korea and continue to launch missiles to Japan, skip Taiwan (because they won't hurt the Chinese) then the Philippines. The north Korean soldiers will kill us all when they get here and there will be more like a death march. A lot of us would hold bolos again because of the lack of artillery and weapons. We'll look like weaklings. We'll also get our own share of nuclear missiles from them. Generous eh?!

*When South Korea wins, they'll conquer the North Korean side and push all their military there. They will also push to the boundary of China. China will be nervous because US might infiltrate them and another war will break from that small war. Nuclear arsenal will still be launched from both sides. No one will listen to the UN and we'll all starve to death.

Call me morbid but it might happen to us! This is no joking matter... what will you do if all hell breaks loose?
