PLDT myDSL’s Internet to Sawa TRANSFORMS my Internet experience from ZERO to HERO!

The Goodlooking guy formerly known as ZERO! LOL!
(photo credits to Anton of Pusangkalye.net)

I haven't been the best guy to ask about technical stuff. I throw jargons here and there that wouldn't be comprehended by ordinary humans. It just gets more complicated by the minute. I entered the blogging world by the tender age of ** (thought I'd tell you huh?!LOL!) but I've learned to tone down a bit and make an effort to tell stories for lay men and women. This is not a surprise to some of you. I'm a self proclaimed geek, online almost 24/7... excluding bathroom breaks and meal time. =)

I get OC'd if I don't get to read emails. I get depressed if I don't get to see Facebook alerts. I turn neurotic if the Internet doesn't want to cooperate with me when I'm blogging. I'd die if I don't get to upload my photos and brag about them in forums. I went into a phase just like everyone else; the dark age of Internet in the country when nobody knows when it will be back, or when a page would load, or when my downloads would finish. I have experienced that first hand with dial up services (hey! no! I'm not that old!) and those ISP's that mushroomed in the past (same for corporate accounts!). It's either buggy, laggy, or eggy. You literally wait for yourself to lay an egg before you see how your chosen website loads up! LOL!

When DSL and Cable came along, I thought the heavens opened up and gave this geek a break. I tried countless companies (some of which I even worked for! LOL!) that promised bandwidths of preposterous speeds. I also thought Cable Internet was a wise choice but it went down every time it rained. Second rate DSL services said they're the best and the fastest but caps you off in an apparent attempt to charge you/just plainly stop you if you go over their limits! (whoever invented that kilobyte cap must have been sleeping under a rock for ages!)

It was nice for a day or two. No hitches, no problems whatsoever! I got to see the difference between connections. Later on, I got myself some WIFI for the home so I can get my kins online too. The problem is, it only stayed up until it wants to. Without warning, their DSL and phone turns to a busy tone when some part of the metro gets rain. I really wondered if their service was just for summer... or a solar panel somewhere makes it run. NOT FUNNY when I have deadlines to meet!

I'm not a supporter of those popular USB ones either, tried this and that but I ended up getting my account drained of money; because their promo connection rates don't even see the light of day in some areas. The connections are pretty bad too. In hindsight, I became the lamest tech guy in the house/in the neighborhood that they have ever met. I'm one of those computer geeks that get blamed for something the ISP's should have done. I suffered bullying in the kitchen, they fed me too much to get this big too... =(

Nobody came close with the convenience I had when I switched to PLDT! I got it on a bundle together with our phone! I got a new number too to get those pesky prank callers some dose of their own medicine. Honestly, it only went down ONCE in its history because of a MAJOR TYPHOON. As for the connection, everything's sweet! I get to download all the things I need for work. I get to upload my photos, connect with people on social networks and stay online all day like I wanted. I blogged about the experience too and YOU'RE LOOKING RIGHT AT IT! LOL! Not only did I become a plain old "blogger"... I became part of NUFFNANG and GLITTERATI PLUS too!

It looks like they're serving another sweet fruit on the plate like this one! Imagine getting 5Mbps instead of the 3Mbps that you used to pay for on Plan 3000! As if that weren't enough they're throwing in PLDT WATCHPAD's Exclusive content... and a year of FREE PLDT TO PLDT NDD Calls oh my!

Now that I have PLDT, my Brother in Ireland looks smooth on video streaming. My Sister at home could play her favorite Facebook game and spend countless hours on it. My Mom and Dad get to talk to relatives around the world via Skype on my IPAD2. Obviously this tech guy who owns this site just became ZERO to a HERO in no time! Food still comes in though; but that's every once in a while... right after gym time.

I get to save some damsel in distress SOMETIMES too!
Just like any HERO would do! =)

I Need A Road Trip!

I haven't had a decent vacation in 8 years and to tell you honestly I am in the process of fixing my schedules so I can get lee way of having an out of the country experience this time! I'm so excited because I'll probably be traveling with my folks too. I want to experience how to road trip America. I want to see the sights up close. I don't want the usual resort vacations that just end up making you stay inside hotel premises. I want to see people from different places and plainly check how they live their lives. Human interest appeals to me.

The road maybe long but I would want to make my vacation still be the best one I could find. I need to see places in a different light. June seems to be one good month since its summer. I might have more time though in November but I'll weigh my options. I already have my papers ready and I'll check my bank if I can pay for my folks fare. Please pray for me in the coming months so I could get the time to muster up and find vacation time in my busy schedule. I need to relax and amuse myself. I need recreation every once in a while and this has been long overdue!

Where do you think I should go then?! Do you have any suggestions?

Philippine Fashion Week presents "10": Edgar San Diego

I like how the show was put out because it involved 10 designers and their collection. Philippine Fashion Week has always been an avenue for up and coming/veteran designers to show their ware and this was not an exception. One of the nicest collection I ever saw was the one from Edgar San Diego, you ask why? It's because he's got all the details. I like how he intricately worked on the pieces and by any standards it doesn't look cheap! As a matter of fact, I know these pieces are probably expensive. I wouldn't tell you otherwise because of the things I saw on his bit. Here's his collection! Let's take a look!

See what I mean? It's classy right from the get go. I like how he also sticked to the classics (black and white. (R) That cape on the right is reminiscent of 50's Ma Barker movies, non structured but very feminine. This is really probably his goal; classy and feminine. (L) This one on the other hand had that midsection inserted with a cover that would put emphasis on the waist. Something women wanted all along to be small looking. He achieved just that!

He played with the terno/baro't saya which is a staple Filipina dress. His interpretation stayed classy yet modern on both instances.

This is a black version of that dress he had with the midsection wrapped around. A surprise is that print on the shirt. If you would need to invest in clothes, this is definitely a good way to see it mixed and matched with whatever you have in your closet. (R) Nice crisp jacket and pants (white) and a simple shirt for this guy looks mighty good. I like their hats too. I've been seeing this style for other shows and it would be something that pinoy's would've probably worn in the 60's when Dolphy was in his prime.

(L) Black Barong Tagalog, I would like to have one please! =) (R) Claire Unabia of ANTM Fame in a long low butterfly sleeved Baro't Saya number. Classy even if it is native!

(R) I thought this was the best piece in his collection. I love the modern-native mix and this did put it on advancements design wise. (L) I like the off the shoulder thing, pretty nice for anyone who wants to show a little skin.

(R) Nice and flowy. I love this one too. Look at the detail inside that flowy fabric. Exquisite! (L) Nice wraps and that bit on the skirt with see through fabric on the slit. It makes a slightly conservative hit on showing women's assets. Very nice!

(R) Classy Barong. Black on white. Pretty good. (L) How can you go wrong with a supermodel with this outfit. Ahh! Just seeing this, the nice top can be paired with anything on your closet!

THIS IS THE BEST PIECE! No doubt about it! Congratulations Edgar San Diego! Your collection and it's details are well put together. I wouldn't be surprised if you got so many clients now. Your work is one for the books!

Thank you to Philippine Fashion Week and their Holiday Collection 2011!

How NOT to Lose Your Way!

Sunday, June 19, 2011

I'm one of the few who in this time and day still gets lost in the city. I make appointments here and there and I always end up going to places where clients prefer since I don't want to make a hassle with just the meeting place. Lunch is usually on me so it is pretty difficult if I end up late and it would be my fault if they go hungry. This happened quite often; but I'm not making excuses. I'm not that familiar with places in the south and it takes time if I always ask for directions from strangers. Have I mentioned dangerous too?! I wish I had a GPS Tracking device so I wouldn't have to worry about this anymore!

I probably would have that put into my van for security purposes. With the high crime rates and car napping incidents in my city I wouldn't be surprised if one day I'll be a victim. I wish it was easy to say otherwise but the sad truth is that it gets worse every year. If I get one it'll be easier to track it and be a deterrent to these things. I know how important it is to have one than to get my car stolen instead; which unfortunately would cost even MORE! I hope my friends or relatives get me one for my birthday. Oh well!

Do you guys have one of those GPS gadgets? I need one obviously!
