Electrolux Clothes and Hugs

Monday, October 03, 2011

As you already know, I've got a lot of causes to support and I feel that I'm barely scratching the surface. It's quite nice to see NGO's and private corporations helping out our less fortunate countrymen in times when they need it most. This time, it's Electrolux that wants to make a difference through their program called Clothes and Hugs.

Thousands of pre loved clothes already are being sent by people across the nation but if the entities that collect these receive it, they just give them to the affected families as is. Electrolux wants to get these items cleaned so they setup small kiosks and even got their huge trucks to travel across the country to wash em before they get to the beneficiaries. Electrolux being one of the largest manufacturers of washing machines and other home appliances in the country makes this as their contribution in helping the less fortunate before they receive the pre loved clothes. They take care of the logistics in washing them for beneficiaries of DZRH Operation Tulong this year together with other partner MBC radio stations.

Mr. Andy Vital accepting the ceremonial bundle of clothes in behalf of DZRH Operation Tulong and MBC.

They even got bloggers to join the cause making stories out of their shirts. This guy who won actually is going to get married the day after the event. He won a brand new Electrolux Washing Machine by just sharing a heartwarming story of his lucky shirt that got him his girlfriend and to a lot of contests he won. He felt it was time to actually have someone else to own it in the hopes of them getting the same luck he got from it too. It was a nice entry!

Congratulations for winning the My Tshirt Story and best wishes to your wedding!

It was all for a good cause. It was so nice for Electrolux to have thought about this to help those in need. It'll be a thing that most private corporations should do and emulate so they can contribute something to make this Philippines a lot better than when we found it. Congratulations on the huge success of your program and I wish for nothing but the success of it in the years to come!

Reproductive Health

Giving birth is such a joyous event. It takes months for a couple to prepare for this joyous occasion. They prepare for the baby shower, the first clothes he/she's going to wear, the car seat, the crib, the feeding bottles and everything else just to make this event great. You only want the best for your kid just like any parent would say. There's one thing though that crossed my mind while dreaming that bit; what about the health of the Mom? There are numerous things and complications that can happen to someone giving birth. Who's taking care of them? What are the things we do in order to get them come out of the hospital and keep them healthy? I don't want to scare you but I have seen a lot of vaginal mesh lawsuits out there that have made my worries and suspicions solid. What do we do if PROLAPSE happens? It's a really tough question to answer but we need to face the music and do everything we need to keep her safe.

People who encounter urinary tract infection, pain while making love and problems with the reproductive and excretory systems must act now so they get what they need. If there are some problems with implants they should immediately seek help of a doctor and consult a lawyer afterwards. Just like any medical procedure everything should be precise. If something goes wrong and the Mother suffers isn't it but right to be compensated? People should know that there are also some side effects. Women all over the world encounter this problem and they are not alone. The criminal justice system should work for them too. Justice delayed is justice denied and we all know that. I'm still for reproductive health and I will always exercise my freedom to choose.

RCBC BANKARD Megabrands Sale!

I haven't shopped for quite a while now and it was hey time I break that habit. Going to the RCBC Megabrands sale last Friday was like therapy for me. It was nice to see a lot of items sold in bargains. I found a lot of things there that might interest you to await the next one when RCBC Bankard does this again. This will definitely get you in the mood.

This airy Glagla shoes were a steal at 1,000 pesos. It's light and can be worn even without socks because it is breathable.

Some of the famous brands of perfume were even sold at 200 pesos. You need to buy in bulk though, so if you are stocking up on your favorite one this would be one of the things I'd hoard.

Saw some brands like Nike, Adidas, Reebok and Grosby (remember the 80's hehe) and sold these items for over 50-70% off the original price. You can pay with your favorite Bankard credit cards too.

I found some toys that I could give my little nieces and nephews come Christmas time. I wanted to go shopping but I didn't get a list for them yet. Hope there's one more of these soon.

Since we live in the tropics, this would be another gift idea for aunt's, moms or friends who dig wearing hats. Cool thing is that they have this on 50% off.

Here's a cool thing that we found while walking around!

They put some corn like grain on this contraption

Then they press it for a couple of seconds using this machine manually.

When the timer is up, it buzzes! Then...

POOF! It became KOKO Crunch! LOL nah, this comes in Shrimp and Fish flavors. I must say I bought two of these packets that come in threes. Each one costs only 50 pesos! And it's really freshly cooked!

It's really good! Mmmm...

We found this store that had a lot of knick knacks on them, from salt and pepper shakers, toys, collectibles that ships free anywhere in the Philippines. They are called Posh Living. You can find them on Multiply too.

I plan to buy this for Christmas as a giveaway for my website. What do you think?! Cute eh?! =) Found it there!

They've also got these small items you can purchase for a couple of pesos. Three for one hundred actually and you can mix and match them with some of the other items in the store. I love this one too. They are Angry Birds Water bottles. Neat eh?!

Large ticket items like these sound system units from Philips were there too. I should have bought one for Dad coz these were sold with a huge discount. Almost half the price I think in regular stores.

One of the nicest things I found there were these shoes. They come in a couple of colors. I'd like to have these. I think they've got an online store too that sells these. Just look for the brand.

Overall, I did a pretty good job looking for the stuff that I needed to buy my friends for Christmas. Thanks to Bankard I got these famous brands all in one place. Make sure you go to the next one soon! I'd really love to get hooked up with RCBC Bankard on these and future events. You should get one now! Capisce?!

Medicine Within Reach

Saturday, October 01, 2011

Health is very important and there is no argument with that. If one or more of your family members would go through all the drama and complications of getting sick I'm sure you'll be worried as I am. Sleepless nights, medical bills, problems acquiring medicine and insurance brouhahas are all but a normal thing when this happens. How would you be able to cope? What particular things do you need to do to get what you need to be better? Maybe there are online canadian pharmacy institutions like CANADADRUGCENTER.COM who can do an amazing job addressing your pharmaceutical needs. It's what we need at these times and we should never put our relatives or ourselves in harms way. Time is of the essence and you wouldn't want to make a simple cough or cold into something horrible the next day. That's just not good for anyone no matter how you put it.

I've got my first degree relatives go through diabetes and heart conditions. Imagine how common the word stroke is to me and my siblings. It's not getting me nervous on some occasions because I hear it quite common. My Uncle in Winnipeg, Manitoba could get it in a jiffy if he wants to buy plavix. It's almost as easy as ordering take out pizza. Those blood clots and bypass surgeries don't have to happen anymore pretty soon with the medication. Some women also get osteoporosis later on in life but that can be easily remedied by products we can purchase on line. Thank the one above to that it's easy to buy actonel through reputable pharmacies like them. It's a whole lot better than going through the arduous task of going directly to pharmacies in the outskirts of one state or another. If we need it now then it's but right to have it now. I wouldn't want it to be otherwise just like you.
