To tell you honestly, I've heard this played a lot of times when I was a kid. It was my first connection to Brazil, the first thing I've even heard of the place called IPANEMA. To me it was a place where Bossa Nova was common... the beaches and the women were all grand... life was easy along the Brazilian shore! These days, it's not just easy music. It's a brand of Flip flops that everyone absolutely adores. Best of all, they've collaborated with top designers from Philippine Fashion Week Spring - Summer 2012 collection and this time it's a celebration of those neat things I've heard of about IPANEMA and MORE!

With Summer just around the corner they've brought out the guns and buns to shock and awe everyone in Philippine Fashion Week. Just like Gisele Bundchen these foot candy ain't joking when they said that it's luxurious to wear and carry around. How can you not love these?!

Now if that ain't enough for you imagine this being worn in a Summer Wear collection by models in Philippine Fashion Week and you'll surely love this!

After hiding in the walls, a barrage of Men and Women came out clad in IPANEMA Flip Flops and their great Summer Wear!

Men wore something reminiscent of Cuban outfits but more on the form fitting style!

They never were afraid of COLORS!

Nor the prints!

Or something formal... Cuban I say! Still looking good in Flip Flops from IPANEMA!

Easy and breezy, colors or prints you can match the perfect little pair if you want to!

You can be hunky and still stay as smart with them all the way!

One thing I found quite overwhelmingly chosen as color is Turquoise, is it making a comeback?!

Sleek and simple to Bold and wildly printed, it just doesn't stop there!




Flip flops worn even on dresses, printed fabric that's perfect for evening parties out on the beach!



Short dresses elongate the legs for a more taller look. The wedges are nice with these outfits!

Dave Ocampo executes this beautifully with colors and prints; quite perfect for the season!

Raoul Ramirez opens up with this almost naked lad. Now that was surprising! I saw some ladies covering their eyes LOL

Relaxed beach wear. Something a little formal going out on a luau party or just on a date



Casual wear and something form fitting for those who have the body.
This is really good to look at and the color choices are astounding!



Men in shorts or trunks in a beach spell sexy with their flip flops too!



Classy even on their shorts and shirts, these guys carried them all so well! I love the flip flops on the right, can anyone get them for me? =)

Cocktail dresses, it doesn't have to be a little black dress.... white ones definitely would be better!



Notice the coat on the left? That's actually very cuban... I kinda remember the vibe from that area looking at it. A cigar would seal the deal. On the right, colors everywhere! It was very striking, maybe if you want to be the talk of the town you could try that!



Now who says you can't wear this with a tux? See how it makes sense doing this on the beach? Maybe if you had your man go to these places and wear IPANEMA you would love the turnout eh?!



There goes the oversized relaxed coat again, very cuban/latino. The right one is so form fitting, if you have someone who's got the body for it, this is a great way to flaunt it!



Go semi formal on the beach with the flip flops you love from IPANEMA, you can't wear anything else otherwise you would look funny!

I love the colors! IPANEMA definitely did something right with the lineup of designers they had for this summer wear line. This one did a psychedelic - 60's vibe. I remember Mike Myers and his movies while seeing this bit. I really like the boxers-trunks they wore.



Very meticulous work on the gown. I love the details. It could be an iconic item.



A continuation of the psychedelic thingy. I love it! Maybe if DARNA were to wear something totally different from her current costume this would be great. The designer definitely had good ideas!



This look a little dated but it would definitely work. I love the turquoise coat. Please please let me get that!



I love the structure of the top and bottom on the left. The dress is definitely a stunner! The coat and slacks is another moment in style. I would love that for myself!

I guess it's time for colors! And this is HOT!



I love how bold they actually went. The long dark blue dress, divine!



Now they turn to different pieces that also had that vibe. I love the greens and psychedelic returns!



I love the flip flops... not so much the overalls. I love the trunks though its a good break from the norm!



Now this is one thing that women would adore! Reds and yellows, its all good!

Make it blue and a neckline like that? I know some friends who would die to have this!

Turquoise and blue greenish colors, its a revolution waiting to happen this season!

This is just amazing, if people dressed up like this all the time everything would be posh!



The color palette and silhouette seems to be so close with the creations of Lyle Ibanez and Dave Ocampo. I love how flowy these dresses turned out to be on the runway. The models were really working it!

Greens and blues, its so cool in the eyes. These designers definitely know their strengths.

Mr. Raoul Ramirez, I am officially now a fan of your work. You have real attention to detail and I love how you courageously used colors and kept it sexy.

Now that's hot! See why I like Raoul's work?!

How can you not like his work?!

I saw a green one like this, and liked it too!

IPANEMA you have definitely outdone yourselves! The dresses were way too hot to handle, the flip flops definitely stood out when they walked out the runway. Gisele Bundchen would've loved to go to this event if she weren't too busy! I'm loving IPANEMA now... I wouldn't be surprised if the general populace wouldn't do the same.

Congratulations on your successful tie up with these fantastic designers. The names Anthony Nocom, Dave Ocampo, Lyle Ibanez, Raoul Ramirez and Catherine Cavilte have definitely made your brand proud of what it is today. Congratulations on a very successful show!

Maria La Del Barrio EXTENDED!

Due to insistent public demand and obvious high ratings of the show Maria la del Barrio, ABSCBN has decided to extend this series upto February according to their representatives of the channel and lead star Erich Gonzales. Now that they have seen the enourmous support this program has gotten in the past few weeks compared to GMA's Daldalita, they have thought of more twists and turns to the story that will blow the minds of audiences worldwide.

Assunta De Rossi's character in the show "Sandra" suddenly comes alive in the story giving this whole series another reason to watch out for as she fights with arch enemy Angel Aquino aka Victoria again. Apparently she didn't die of the fire that happened in the beginning of the teleserye. That plus the fact that Erich and Enchong could actually be siblings... Is this going to be the end of their love story? Will it end the same as the original Maria La Del Barrio produced by Televisa?! Find out what will happen next by watching the show everyday on ABSCBN's Primetime Bida!

According to Erich she's got a non showbiz suitor and she wanted that to remain private. People from the press asked her who HE was but she never budged.

Erich will be doing a movie with Mario Maurer which would probably start filming in April next year. Maria la del Barrio will continue its book II until February so you guys should watch out for that!

Actually according to them, they are both READY TO LOVE. But as for who to love, they have different answers... But they owe it to their fans, the love team wouldn't have worked without you guys! A lot of people are clamoring for them to be real lovers, Enchong said that is a possibility but as of now they probably are interested in different people; Erich seem to be interested in the "non showbiz guy" and Enchong probably is in love with someone from the Mara Clara series... you should find out for yourselves!

Actually it's Enchong and Erich who's going to give you a gift. They are extending Maria la del Barrio until February because of the BOOK II that will contain a lot of twists in the story (plus more characters that you haven't seen yet!). Yes, they will have a different story than the Thalia version of this series. =)

As for SUDDENLY ITS MAGIC, Enchong is so happy for Erich that he fully supports her on this international film and her new career. Erich said the same thing hearing about what ABSCBN plans for Enchong next year. Mario Maurer is a good guy, and for those who wish to see Enchong do something on that movie... we have no news yet if he's gonna play a cameo role on it too. But if he is offered one, he'll gladly take it to support Erich.

I also told Enchong about Philippine Fashion Week during the BENCH fashion show. He was the most applauded celebrity there. Did you know that?! I'm not surprised though because these two would definitely go leaps and bounds on their career! They are smart and intelligent... that's one thing that other stars don't really have these days #fact!

To Erich, Enchong and the rest of the cast, crew and production... congratulations on this great series! My whole family will continue to watch it! You all should too! :)

Philippine Fashion Week 2012 : PENSHOPPE Brings You INVASION With Mario Maurer

As Penshoppe spreads its wings internationally, another feather to their hat has been added. How can you not love a brand that keeps coming up with the freshest faces, greatest clothes and an international campaign that would be the envy of anyone else in this blessed country of ours. That's what this particular season of Philippine Fashion Week 2012 was waiting for; and its promptly called INVASION!

Last year's show was unparalleled when they set the runways on fire with TRAILBLAZER. The designs were inspired with army suits, British royal guards, leather clad women and probably BDSM inspired. It was reminiscent of what Rihanna, Gisselle Bundchen or Naomi Campbell would wear that evening whilst all the men were carrying the soldier/rockstar vibe all throughout the show.

Now that this phase already literally made the brand blaze on its own trail, Philippine Fashion Week will now witness an INVASION... with PENSHOPPE's newest endorser Mario Maurer!

For those who would like to see a glimpse of the show here's a rundown on what happened inside the Hall 2 of SMX Convention Center. Are you ready for INVASION?

The stage itself was a delight to see. It was a three tiered metal platform that had LED monitors showing various images of the models while on the runway. Classy!

Their Spring/Summer collection didn't shy away from Earth tones. I saw dark blues, grays, browns, khakis, whites... it was reminiscent of Banana Republic but wayyyy better. This ain't no hunting clothes! :)

From nice airy gray tops to light breezy jackets, they've got them all.
Those pants look cool too, very form fitting!



See how these gorgeous women make Mustard current worn with shorts, shirts underneath and blouses that spell S-O-P-H-I-S-T-I-C-A-T-E-D =)

Happy I saw this hunky Fil-Jap supahmodel strutting with a bright color blocking shirt + blue cardigan and blue short pants. It's a must try this season!

You can still look HOT with bright sunny colors as you can see. For those who have a smaller built, the shirts and turquoise short pants would be a perfect ensemble for walking and maybe yachting... now that's what you call living it up!

They've got relaxed jackets and didn't hold back on color. Bright and breezy, I think this really will be a hit for consumers who want that summer feel.

They've got ensembles of full dresses, from yellows, blues or oranges it introduces that season you really love!

It's the coats! Anything that you put in on top like a simple colorful short and add acid washed jeans spells GREAT in my books. It looks like we are in the 80's if this is making a come back but this is a very modern take. It's none of those stone washed stuff + baston cuts we used to see with our older brothers/sisters. Definitely something to get in their new store!

The jeans incorporated now in the jacket would be a little tacky if the cuts are too big or quite close to those OFW type ones. The design aesthetic of Penshoppe is classy and you get the best interpretations without suffering with something that other shops try to sell. It's stylish right from the get go!

Bolder colors, things that you can mix and match with your existing wardrobe is just so good! I love the sleeved blue shirt too. Men tend to look a little younger carrying that. Can anybody get me one? =)

She's so hot in that number. It makes her shoes pop out. The jacket in the left didn't look too constraining because it gets better with the hoodie. You can probably wear this in semi formal functions or maybe just for going out in the evening. A short date or maybe going out with the boys, this is just perfect!

With colors you can definitely have a little strut going to clubs/bars with this. The red jacket with the hoodie looks just HOT! For those who have a great body, this form fitting knit wear would be nice for those who want a preppy demeanor every once in a while!

See how you can do the jacket with different shirt colors? That's what you call investment clothing. You can use it for different outfits and still stay perfect!

Wouldn't you want your boyfriend looking smart and dapper in this number? I love the sailor shirts too. You kinda keep that sailing vibe all throughout that sunny day!

Now how about getting yourself some ANTM music while she does what she knows best on the runway. That's Claire Unabia, the first Filipino American to ever join America's Next Top Model, it was so regal... it was great and so high fashion. It's a dose of that ANTM spunk we usually see on TV... funny some didn't know who she was. I was actually mesmerized when she walked out. She's a class on her own and I'm glad PENSHOPPE got her on the show!

Girls shrieked at the sight of him too. VJ UTT is still HOT!

Mario Maurer for PENSHOPPE

When he walked out, or just even the video prelude that happened... it was pandemonium I tell you! A couple of decibels more and our ears would have imploded! Why not? He's the boy everybody was there for... and of course he's PENSHOPPE's new endorser Mario Maurer!

It's those small simple gestures that make him what he is that evening. Women would scream when he looks at them. He's the boy... he definitely is.

He took two passes on the runway to the delight of the audience. He's Mario Maurer and I can't wait for his video to be shown on TV soon. I guess they got some shots for PENSHOPPE's holiday ad. Ms. Pilar Tuason shot the stills for them... she's an excellent photographer who captures moments. I'm sure you'll love the photos soon!

He stood a couple of feet away from me. He was angelic. I get the point why people adore him. He was like too good looking and so GORGEOUS in person.



Now that's what they were screaming about. That little smile. Priceless.

Now how can anyone get over him.
It looks like he had a lot of fun too in the show!

Of Phones and Vacations!

Hi guys! I just came back from a fabulous vacation in the south and enjoyed every bit of it. I didn't like getting disconnected from the world so I did carry with me my Blackberry. It definitely fits my lifestyle and gets me saved from the stress of having to carry around a huge laptop just to check my mail. I was a little worried though because we had to go to a lot of places and the wear and tear from doing that is quite a lot for my phone. I was looking for a cell phone case that can do the job and glad that I have seen several that fit my taste. I didn't have to look around that much because everything was organized. I love how much variety they have and got myself a couple so I could switch around from plain ones to Playboy inspired cases. It's really nice to see people complement my phone and be envied just by having it. It's quite a culture in my part of the world to match things like these with friends and family so I'd probably have to get them the same soon. I wonder if they have money now so I'd buy them something just like mine soon.

My phone is my companion to some of the greatest travels I have ever been. I am able to share anything that I want in my social networks and my friends get to see what I am seeing. That's the reason why I take care of it. This is why I wanted to have a cell phone case for Blackberry early so I would be able to prevent scratches and bumps from everyday activities. It's the best thing I could do for something that saved me from a lot of trouble these past few months. I'm glad it goes beyond than just being a phone. It's a different lifestyle I'm trying to follow and I'm happy I have this with me.
