Adidas Comes Out With New Pieces: Philippine Range Collection 2011

Thursday, December 15, 2011

Staying in Eastwood City is just too easy, you get to shop for what you want whenever you want. I was scouting for new things to buy for my self and took a peek at the stores. I obviously want shoes and a couple of jackets since its getting a little cold for some reason in Manila. Good thing Adidas came out with some of the good looking ones by far!

With their minimalist aesthetics without sacrificing comfort in training, these jackets seem to only make things even better with it's design. The colors red, white, blue and yellow signify the Philippine flag and all the nicest things about this proud country of ours. This is part of the Philippine Range Collection for 2011. Patriotic and sleek; it hugs on the body's contours and makes those times when you need protection from cold more stylish than the usual. The solid colored blue one on top would be nice on my Mom since she wants those with less maintenance and less hassle when cleaning. The white one is light and bright; I'd love to have one or more of these so when I train in the gym it wouldn't be too shabby. I wish it was that easy to get some in my size because I'm a little bigger than the usual. I love this one though because it's perfect for the weather and perfect for my girlfriend! =) Maybe if we get the pair it's gonna be like couple shirts! It'll be easy to carry around plus it's light; and doesn't get wet easily in this crazy weather.

I'm so excited to see what Adidas has designed for us next year. It's quite a remarkable feat to see this part of their Philippine Range Collection; one that was launched since 2007. I love that fact that this is going to be also available at your leading Adidas stores nationwide!

I think we might just get this one for Christmas! Just perfect!

The PONY Show Off: Digital Film & Poster Art Competition

Who has never heard of PONY? You must have been living under a rock if you really haven't learned anything about this great brand. With those awesome shoes and great celebrity endorsers you know you are only getting the best this side of the world!

When I arrived this family was performing on stage. Nothing beats your first appearance on stage for a crowd right? Well that's how I felt, but their MTV was quite nice though. With that out of our article early, let's get it on! Shall we?!

Guess what? They just announced the winners of PONY Footwear's digital video and poster art competition properly entitled "SHOW OFF" to get the best digital artists in the Philippines. Imagine over 200 works of art and videos were submitted on their Facebook page and site and judged through LIKES and via a panel of judges from PONY last Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 at 55 Events Place, Sct. Rallos St., Timog, Quezon City. It was awesome to see the finalists bring their actual pieces come to life to the envy of a hundred or more people at the venue.

I specifically liked a couple of entries but it didn't win; like the naked guy suspended on air, some entries were mediocre (which I won't normally say out loud like that haha). The winners were awesome though. 1st Prize went to Mr. Jesus Genotiva for his art work titled “Rock n Roll”, 2nd Prize goes to Reuben Francis Vidanes for his piece “Dare:Graffiti Let’s Get It On” and for the 3rd Prize, it went to Frederick Uy for his artwork called “Hot Dog”.

I also love the videos that won in the "Digital Film Category", being a video enthusiast myself I knew how hard they made those things which probably took hours on the drawing board and days in execution. Winning 1st Prize was KEVIN DAYRIT for his film called “Soundless Transposition”, 2nd Prize went Winson Rojo for a film he entitled “Bold & wild”, 3rd Prize went to a certain Vancleef Emnacen for his entry “Pony Tale: Sneaky Sneakers” but he wasn't there to receive his cash prize and thousands of pesos worth in PONY merchandise. I was envious they get to take away that much!

Digi-Film and Poster Art category winners received P40,000 cash plus P10,000 worth of Pony shoes for the first prize; Second prize is P20,000 cash and P5,000 worth of Pony gift certificates and Third prize is P10,000 cash and P5,000 worth of Pony GC's. I was so sorry I didn't get to join, just looking at the HUGE prizes made me REALLY SORRY LOL!

Instead of the usual graffiti wall, they got these huge letters lined up at the entrance. Of course I got kumagcow.com somewhere there ha-ha!

These guitars were also part of the exhibit via the PONY Archive. Some of the patrons were actually getting their photos taken with these pieces. I was afraid they would suddenly drop em and it'll lose value. That 80's looking guitar on the far right is my favorite!

The gorgeous Kitchie Nadal was there. Oooh I love her!

Giving away the prizes were a ton of celebrities, Baron Geisler, Mr Charles Yu Vice President of PONY and some of their Executives.

Of course, Champ, Bamboo and some other stars were there too!

Hosting the event and providing the comedy I LIKE was Ramon Bautista and renowned Music Director Nani Naguit.

PONY's newest endorser WOLFGANG rocked the house with their awesome music. It literally and figuratively tore the house down. I love how the event mixed genres and great aesthetics. I love it when you can just sit down, have a few beers and listen to people like Basti Artadi do his work and magic! It was nice to just say LET'S GET IT ON! and get some PONY love!

I loved a few pieces, specially the dark ones like this Charcoal Gray bit.

I like this one too, it's fun to end the shoelace with white instead of going all black.

This one must be a best seller. I love how original it looks like without being too plasticky. Anybody care to get me one in size 12? LOL!

There are shoes... and then there's PONY. You know where to get it and how to get it in your favorite shoe stores. Make sure you drop by their Facebook page to check out the entries and the videos! Special thanks to the nice people at PONY, I look forward to wearing your stuff soon! Let's Get It On!

Launching New Drinks this Season: Figaro!

Sunday, December 11, 2011

The holidays wouldn't be complete without tasting Figaro's famous blends! I've been a fan of their coffee concoctions, sandwiches and meals but they haven't let down yet as I participated in getting first dibs on their new drinks to be launched in December 20, 2011!

For those who are tea lovers out there, these new flavors are surely going to tickle your taste buds and give you the awesome flavors you look for in cold beverages. For those who don't want anything caffeinated on their drinks, this collection promises a variety that you'd adore because one of my favorites TARO is also on the menu!

First up is Strawberry Milk Tea with Yakult. This beverage entails a hint of Yakult flavor goodness and some tangy aftertaste because of the Strawberries. Mine also had some strips of Egg pudding and nata de coco so you kind of get something interesting in your drink in the middle of all that TEA flavors you'll LOVE! This beverage cost only a measly 90 pesos, imagine that!

The second one is a Raspberry Milk Tea with YAKULT. It's pale pink and quite tangy right from the get go. The raspberry quite overwhelms the tea experience but it's all good. If you like that tanginess along with your drink plus the smoothness of milk tea then this is perfect for you! Have your fill with nata de coco strips that's chewy and sweet just the way you like it! This beverage costs 90 pesos!

For those who want a sweet-tangy combination this will surely light your fires up! The Strawberry Lemon Iced Tea would really be mistaken as Pink Lemonade but it is more on the sweet strawberry side. The lemon rind they put on it makes it a very fragrant drink and you can really smell the lemon all throughout! It's light and perfect for those hot afternoons, or late night drinking when you don't want caffeine infused ones. It only costs 70 pesos!

Now comes the great ones! How can you not like TARO?! It's that oriental root crop made into powdery milk consistency made into a drink and you can really TASTE it! I love how it's earthy smell and aftertaste makes everything extra sweeter. Black pearls and slivers of Taro pudding on the bottom makes this quite filling too. For those who want a better alternative to the caffeine drinks, this is one healthy number you can do. This Taro Pudding Milk Tea costs only 90 pesos! Yeah baby! Yeah!

For the Pièce de résistance! This awesome crunchy frozen Taro drink tremendously had the votes of everyone who tasted it. This is by far my favorite too among the drinks presented to us that evening. It's topping alone made a quite remarkable conversation piece because it totally made the drink's texture quite different. Add to that the frozen drink's TARO base and this will prove to be one successful combo~ so if you want my opinion get this one ASAP! This drink costs 100 pesos and is called the Taro Pudding Chiller Feast! Definitely number 1 on my must buy list when visiting Figaro next time!

The holidays just got better with these offerings by FIGARO. This will only be available on selected branches but soon will be available nationwide! Can't get enough of the photos? Make sure you come and visit the real thing soon!

Pinoy Expats/OFW Blog Awards (PEBA) 2011

Saturday, December 10, 2011

It's been a year I guess since I last attended PEBA. That's the Pinoy Expat/OFW Blog Awards 2011; and this year they've got a lot of awards up for grabs. Aside from that, winners from last year were also shown in Trinoma's center stage. I was so nervous just sitting on the front let alone if I were on stage... I'm sure the winners wouldn't feel the same.

Proud OFW's, Expatriots and their families were all there to witness this momentous occasion. PEBA Inc. has helped a lot of our Filipino brothers and sisters working outside the country. Through mediums like blogging, photography and literature they shall honor people who have made efforts to interpret this year's themes. In partnership with local companies like Ayala Malls they will also get to see VIPinoy; to pay homage to these modern day heroes they give perks for overseas Filipinos and OFW's. Nokia, Globe, Globe Kababayan and Globe Tattoo also provided several kits to the winners and nominees. Several guests enjoyed the perks as well.

To the winners specially to the bloggers that I know who won in the several categories, congratulations! This event isn't solely just for the awards alone, its how we harness social media and make the people think. Think about countless people who sacrifice their lives so their families can have a better life.

Cheers to Pinoy Expats/OFW Blog Awards (PEBA), Inc. and PEBA 2011!

Til next year!
