Monster Headphones: For Serious Audio Junkies!

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Monster, a name attached to some of the most famous sets of audiowear here and elsewhere in the world. As the stalwart of audio cable design, Monster has brought sound engineering to a whole new level. Quality has been very good that almost everyone in the US and other countries have patronized only one brand when it comes to audio technology.

We were so lucky to have been invited to this momentous occasion. They've been launching their new line all over Asia and the last leg is happening in the Philippines, so it was a treat to see what they've got in store for all of us that evening. I even saw some pretty neat pieces they displayed at posh nightspot Opus Lounge, Resorts World Manila.

Had my eyes on this one, yellow ear phones. It's actually part of a line design inspired by the man himself Lance Armstrong. It had Livestrong on it. Who wouldn't be loving this anyway, its a pretty one right? But what make it special is that its designed for athletes and sports activities.

It's waterproof, handy and quite easy to carry around. The wires are phenomenal, designed to meet the demands of the activity and quality wise its the best audio accessory I've seen in quite a while! They had ones which they even used while swimming so imagine that! They call it iSport and I love it!

Something like Cuteness Overload on this particular piece which is part of their Harajuku inspired series. For ladies and cute girls who want to have that Japanese pop look everyone adores, this is perfect!

Probably one of the most well designed pieces I've seen in the place was this, they call it Diamond Tears. Aesthetically and technically superior than your run of the mill headphones, this just is something you can call precision in all aspects. A lot of stars are wearing this, I wouldn't be surprised!

Imagine a fusion between something hardcore fashionable and better in audio. This is actually a piece designed by Diesel and the headphones is just gorgeous! I want to have this so bad I'll probably have to sleep on it for now. It's love, personality, rage in one piece. It's pretty neat!

Pure Monster, its something extraordinary because it doesn't follow the norm. The headset itself boasts of not just the ordinary round ones but follows a triangle design. This is called DNA. People go gaga for it! It's something they want you to experience as they promise every beat, every detail. Who's not going to be excited about that!?

Designed for the executive who wants nothing more but serious sound technology this is what they call the Inspiration. This one has pretty good noise cancellation technology and lives for the high end loving audiophiles. Seriously this is amazing.

Managing Director for Asia Pacific Region Robert Fong was so proud to introduce to us these new line of headphones, headsets, earphones and earplugs. He's been out of the country most of the time to let everyone know about the success of this brand. Monster makes great headphones, not just cables. They want to make a revolution and that is the reason why they made launches across Asia and other cities. Through a video presentation they showed tour highlights across the globe and we were quite impressed about celebrities and personalities who joined too. Monster knows the market, the young trendy lifestyle, some who love Harajuku style "super kawaii" models, some who want n-ergy, n-tune, n-pulse models. , some who wants models for the business professional, some who want luxury, some who love different colors and different shapes, some who love sports, serious audiophiles and music enthusiasts, and some who prefer diamond tears, that also comes in black gold and pink. He also says the collaboration with diesel was but overdue, they have headphones that make set inspiration for businessmen and travelers, he listens and provides models also for gaming. Whoever doesn't know MONSTER now will be those who just live under a rock. We know that now first hand!

They were in the mood to show more who can wear them, so a Fashion Show ensued!

Congratulations everyone! Congratulations to Mr. Benjie Martinez and Mr. Fong and everyone at Monster! You have outdone yourselves this time! I can't wait to have one of my own soon!

55 Events Place: A Thanksgiving!

A stones throw away from my place is this awesome event location called 55 Events Place located at Scout Rallos in Quezon City. I've been attending several events there for the past few years and I've been impressed with the variety of looks the place actually transforms to which was quite dependent on the occasion. Who wouldn't love this place if its just a few meters away from Tomas Morato Avenue which is known as the restaurant and entertainment hub of Quezon City. It was their time to give thanks to everyone who supported them all these years. They know how important it is to give recognition to their patrons, caterers and the press so they did it in one blow!

The Ambiance

Providing heavenly mood music were these guys from Impressions Muic Ensemble. They would be perfect for Weddings, Birthdays or any occasion when you need classy tunes!

The Table Setting

There were 4 caterers that afternoon so I was giddy looking at their setup. They've got table arrangements done on different tables, so just imagine the variety you can do when you have your special occasion done on this place!

Overflowing drinks were courtesy of these guys here!

Cocktails and Mocktails were served by Wild Cocktails
This would probably be great for birthdays right? =)

Josiah's Catering had us splurge with Italian that evening. It was comfort food frenzy because they had pasta which I'm a fan of! Basil or Pesto in my plate please!

Goblet Catering had this awesome centerpiece and I absolutely love the Eggplant Moussaka they served. I had seconds and thirds!

Hizon's had it made with this red ensemble and most of the red table arrangements which was quite impressive in my books. Their steaks were warm and medium rare just the way I like it!

The newest addition to the lineup of caterers that they have in 55 Events Place was K by Cunanan. They used old wood to make it look a little shabby chic. I would have loved if they put some more fabric though. I love their Orange Salad and the Churros oh don't get me started!

The Food

 Herb Parmesan Crusted Dory with Mayo-Garlic Sauce

Chicken Stuffed With Cheese

Roasted Potatoes, Garlic and Onions

Steak and Mashed Potatoes

Dessert spread! =)

One of my faves! Eggplant Moussaka!

Cha Misua

The steak and mashed potatoes was so yummy! It was so soft! Mmm...

The pasta was good too!

The fish was soft and the crust outside was crunchy. I would have loved this with a little more pesto though!

Both Mock tails were on the sweet side. It was awesome!

Scooping up a serving of Eggplant Moussaka was just perfect.
I loved every bite I took out of this awesome dish!

Mushroom and Broccoli Stir Fry

Chicken Ala King

Scrumptious Chicken Sate!

Churros!

Creme Brulee =)

55 Events Place has a lot to offer. They've got 2 ballrooms, a spacious lobby and a garden area. For private parties, gatherings and functions this would definitely be a good place to start since it is near major landmarks and the center of everything! They have everything you need to start that party you've always wanted (Lights, Sounds, KTV, AVP, Photo booths) so make sure you give them a call and reserve for the dates you need to block off. Prices range from 15-70K Philippine Pesos. You can visit 55 Scout Rallos Street, Quezon City if you want to take a look! Don't be afraid to ask! =)

Tiktik, the Aswang Chronicles: Showing on October 17!

Fully shot on green screen is this one of its kind film Produced by the hunky actor himself, Dingdong Dantes, with the lovely horror princess pairing up with him, the one and only Lovi Poe is this film called "Tiktik, the Aswang Chronicles". If you saw the excerpts on TV, and enjoyed seeing the clips, it's surely gonna be way better on the movie screen!

photo(2)

Lovi Poe plays the role of Sonia, a girl from the barrio who got pregnant by city boy Dingdong Dantes; he plays the role of Makoy. Though in the movie, he's a little arrogant and undermines those who stay in the countryside and got the irk of an Aswang family. Whilst in a scuffle with his wife who went to the province, they simply got the interest of these entities because of Sonia's pregnancy (local folklore tells these monsters eat babies too!). There are twists and turns to the story but watch how they battle it out with these "Tiktik" as Makoy comes full force to rescue his wife, his unborn child and try to stay alive in this film! It's Humans versus Zombies, you get the drill right?

photo(1)

With advanced never before seen footages shot entirely on this kind of medium, this will prove to be one heck of a computer generated marvel the Philippines is going to be proud of! There have been several festival invites already for this film but they took their time to make this a tad better because it's never been done full length before!

This film is Directed by the one and only Erik Matti. Produced by Ronald Stephen Monteverde, Jose Dantes III, Ms. Annette Gozon - Abrogar. It also stars stars Joey Marquez, Janice de Belen, Roi Vinzon, LJ Reyes and a lot more other stars. Make sure you visit theaters come October 17! That's on Wednesday. Or else, the Aswangs will come to you instead! Haha!

Congratulations to the whole cast and crew of this great film! Can't wait to see it!

SARANGGOLAAWARDSENTRY

Mula't sapul; hindi iniinda ang hirap at pagod;
May dahilan ang bawat tipa, hapuhap at kayod;
Namamagasang kahit pano'y
Kumita ng sapat;
Nang ang pamilya, at pamayanan;
Ay kung maaari lamang;
Umunlad ang kalagayan ;
Anumang hamon ng buhay...
Maging sandigan upang pagpatuloy ang paglalakbay!

Photo above has been taken October 2012 at the People's Park in Davao City. This is my official entry to the Saranggola Blog Awards Year 4 Photoblog - Postcards Category!
