The Right Note

Saturday, May 04, 2013

It's been a while since I've updated you with what I've been doing with my music. I've recorded four tracks and had it all on raw piano. Doing that made me realize how important this heirloom piece is for our family. It's even older than me I guess and honestly putting a price on these things would probably be offending my forefathers. It's been with us for a long time and I haven't been able to think about selling it for a more modern model. That includes my comparison to Steinway Prices too. The reason I'm considering it is because I couldn't do without maintenance. Tuning this old one up every year also is costing me. Finding who'll do that is also a big problem so I am weighing my options as early as now.

The price of these items in this part of the world isn't a joke. It would cost an arm and a leg; or other body parts on some instances. The question is; would I spend something for a new one or do I just keep this? You think about all the people who held each key of this wonderful piece of history and you can't succumb thinking you'll end a generation of musicians who kept this within our home for the last half century. If that isn't one thing I should consider then I don't know what will. See my dilemma? It's not just a piece of furniture for our family; it's the memories that come with it that's important. It's like answering if the piano is a percussion or string instrument, you'll never know in your lifetime the right answer. Maybe my future kids' one of these days would know. As for now, I'll probably have to carry the burden of making this a part of my life. It won't work if I just have it sit there and collect dust. Maybe one day if the music I make becomes understandable for one or more people I'll probably find this all worth it... just like my forefathers did. I just need to find the right note.

Because There Is An Amaia For Everyone!

Wednesday, May 01, 2013

We visited an Amaia site a few days ago to check out what they had to offer. They call this particular project STEPS and it's located a few meters away from Loyola Memorial Park in Sucat. I am actually trying to look for a condo unit my self so I listened quite attentively for what this organization had to offer, and for starters I was impressed because this project was not particularly "high rise" but belong to a more quaint "medium rise" kind of structure. Although they have that on their portfolio, we took some time checking this out and price wise it was worthy of my attention. We got schooled first.

Good looking Sixto Sengson from Ayala Land who's in charge of the Southern Luzon projects showed us how much care they actually give each parcel of land and how they make communities out of it. They also showed a preview of their other properties and got us to understand that the Amaia line would be affordable, and you can get your own home even if you are just starting.

Toshiba’s “True Image” Technology: Because Seeing is Believing!

VAS

Toshiba has been leading innovation on electronic products since time in memorial. I have been witness to that since it's our TV for the past year. More products seem to be released and I got hold of this information a few days ago.

The sets you see behind Director Paul Soriano and top Tech Blogger Abe Olandres is the new CEVO 4K. It got the second generation 4K video processing engine which is made and designed by Toshiba. They have spent years of research and development in bringing you the best “True image” you can possibly have at home. “True image” means the closest image possible that you can have compared to real life. Making it life like is truly an experience that their company promises for every Filipino home... and now, they delivered.

This is now "The Best in its Class" and you can evidently see it on Blu-ray, HD TV and 4K video output on these TV's. Mr. Yuuji Motomura who spearheads product planning for Toshiba’s TV division says “Televisions are being made to create a wow feeling, the bigger the screen, the more excitement. It is not enough that the TV screen is big; it also has to be equipped with the technology that maintains the high picture quality to enhance the viewing experience.”

The company promises that in every TV set of this standard and engine, they will have 90% of the original content, which provides a great sense of reality while watching. I would definitely want this for my own living room. Ours lasted for years too so I'm gearing to have something worthy to replace it. Another Toshiba with this technology would definitely work.
