Small Things at Work Are Worth It

Tuesday, June 04, 2013

Presentations in the office are but a regular thing, I just finished one this evening. There will be more and I'm currently making one as we speak. This is usually made for training sessions, lectures and information dissemination. Presenting in a more professional way if we utilize tools like this. However, we need certain tools in order to show it to an even larger audience. You need to carry around a Projector Case, screen and the projector itself too on most occasions. It's a whole package and one could never do without the other. Naturally if you don't get to protect your things, it'll deteriorate over time and you wouldn't be able to utilize the whole worth of these expensive equipment to the dismay of your company's head honcho.

Protecting your investment and making sure that everything is used efficiently would make up a better business environment. Little things to protect your equipment are vital in making sure you are not wasting your time, effort and your client's too. Your capability to present to prospective business clients is something that you should always strive for. Without that gusto and unending fervor, you won't be able to realize your dreams. It starts from the small things believe me. It's even practiced by large corporations and it has made an impact to their businesses. Making this gesture and showing your peers how it could change their perspective of work can be something that can influence them to have a culture of care. It'll save money in a more granular way. Wouldn't that be a good thing to practice in your business? I'm sure you'll find this useful, because I did.

JAG ORIGINS: Inside the creative mind of Nina Garcia!

Sunday, June 02, 2013

It's that time of the year where thousands of models, designers, make up artists and brands converge for the much awaited Philippine Fashion Week celebration at the SMX Convention Center and we're pretty glad to have been invited to cover; this time for popular jeans brand JAG and their show JAG ORIGINS. It's a total breather from the normal walk-shoot-bow and next show thing we've been doing in the past because they are bringing something new to the catwalk. Actually, this is more of a learning experience for all fashionistas, enthusiasts and practitioners as they have invited one of the most influential ladies in the world of fashion. A mere utter of her name made me say OMG a couple of times and mind you I am not alone. Jag Origins presents the one and only Fashion Director at Elle and Marie Claire, and judge of popular reality TV show Project Runway... Ladies and gentlemen.. Nina Garcia!

We were so lucky enough to have been able to secure seats around 6 people away from Nina Garcia herself but of course she was hounded by everyone else. She had that aura of kindness, generosity and pretty much said yes to everyone who wanted to experience being with her. It's her first time in the country and nobody had a clue what she'll be doing in this show. This is consequently Jag Origin's first outing and to start it off in a good note, we had a fashion show ensue at the start of the event.

Greeting everyone was the beautiful Sarah Meier. She also introduced dignitaries and special people in the audience. This is the start of JAG ORIGINS.

They surprised everyone with the gorgeous Binibining Pilipinas beauty queens. See if you can identify some of them. =)

These ladies were clad in faux leather, jeans that are skinny in all the right places. It hugs on the female form and presents a more tight way of showing the assets. I loved it on these women!

Circuitfest 2013: Awesome Acts, Music and More at Circuit Makati

Saturday, June 01, 2013

It was an epic week indeed with the throngs of bands and skaters who appeared during CIRCUITFEST 2013 at the grand Circuit Makati grounds. What usually was just a good afternoon turned into an epic day in epic proportions because I was one of the few people who got to see all of them in posh Buddha Bar in Makati. I'll let you enjoy the photos first. =)

Circuitfest 2013 is all about 9 International bands, and world class Skateboarding Acts. Imagine they were all there in one room. I got goosebumps seeing Yellow Card, Mayday Parade, We are the In Crowd, The Downtown Fiction, This Century, All Star Weekend, A+ Dropouts, Megan Nicole and Before You Exit. They were all ultra fun in person. I got a laugh everytime they crack jokes with other bands during the interview. I specifically like Yellow Card, the kids and Megan Nicole. I'm more of a Pop person I guess but don't diss my favorites on the other acts because they are equally good too.

Ryan Key didn't get sleep but they had their energy during the show. No matter how 3AM sounds like for their jetlag they still performed quite well because the fans gave them more energy than what they need.

Derek Sanders of Mayday Parade said the Philippines is one of the best places they have been ever been too. Connor McDonough of Before You Exit was a little worried because it rained during the show but the people didn't even  budge or took shelter. Everyone stayed under the rain. Joel Kanitz thanked everyone for staying that long. They love their Filipino fans and they gave their all performing on stage. Cameron Leahy said everyone should wave their umbrellas, and that they did during Downtown Fiction's set. The others said the same and they all enjoyed their stay in the Philippines. I'm sure this isn't the last time they are going to Circuit Makati.

Willy Santos and Riley Hawk entertained the skate enthusiasts and made every trick count. Flips, kicks and ramp exhibitions were all outstanding! I want to go back and do that too.

I can't wait to see what they have next year for Circuit Fest 2014!
