Julia Barretto Stars In This Week's Maalaala Mo Kaya!

Friday, June 14, 2013

She arrived in the conference room of Star Cinema exuding with confidence and a very optimistic demeanor. I watched her being launched in StarMagic batch 2013 together with other promising teens; and seen how much the public has adored her. She belongs to a line of actresses who has graced Philippine cinema which we know had that distinct Barretto look. Gorgeous as her Mom, Aunts, sisters and cousins, she is definitely Bestined for stardom. She is taking it bit by bit and I think she is going to get it really BIG.

She answered all our questions without spilling some of the things to be shown in this week's episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. She knows she has a lot to prove just to be considered as part of MMK because she has watched a lot of episodes from this program. From award winning actors and actresses, she knows how important this is to at least be in the likes of them so she did the legwork. She has done so many workshops and she hopes to bring this all on the table when you see the episode on Saturday.

She doesn't mind to be paired with anyone in TV or in Film but she wishes to work with John Lloyd Cruz. She also admitted that among the young stars, Julian Estrada is really the closest. She knows she might be getting suitors pretty soon but she has her priorities. She wants to work hard for her craft and still finish her studies and she's glad that she is doing so fine at St. Paul. When she gets to see bad remarks on her performance this week, she said she'll take it like a grain of salt. She'll accept those which are going to help her be better at her craft and weed out those that are just plain bashing. It's normal she says but she'll do her best in any program that ABS CBN trusts her to do.

Mom Marjorie didn't actually have anything to say when she got this role. She just told her to pray about it and that's exactly what she did. All these blessings don't come to just anyone and she hopes this is the start of all the nice things that are planned for her. I laud her for being so humble, so smart, so pretty and so beautiful in a nutshell. She hopes all her fans and those that watch MMK this week be as hopeful and learn FORGIVENESS and giving SECOND CHANCES in this episode entitled "INIWAN".

The New Glee Cast in the Philippines and Coke Mismo!

Thursday, June 13, 2013

Hollywood seems to be just around the corner because stars have been coming to Manila like clockwork. Just recently, Coca Cola launched their new beverage size called COKE MISMO and together with that, they got Filipino celebrities and some of the guys and gals from GLEE. Yes you read that right, they are here live in the flesh!

Hosting the press conference was Iya Villania. Then she introduced them one by one!

Jacob Artist aka Jake Puckerman was here. Oh you bet there were more!

Gorgeous blonde bombshell and cheerleader Becca Tobin who's got deadly legs! I love her!

Next Rachelle Berry to be Melissa Benoist, classy and sweet just the way we like it.

Dean Geyer was also there but he was a little too quick in the front of the stage so I didn't get to take photos of him. He was also VERY good looking... Aussie on all corners but New Yorker by all means I think.

Coca Cola is extremely generous so aside from Coke ambassadors Enchong Dee, Julia Montes, Kathryn Bernardo and Joseph Marco, they brought these new Glee cast members for the launch of the new Coke MISMO which is a new bottle size from Coca Cola. For those who find the 500ml too much or the solo size too "bitin" this is the one in between. It also costs only 10 pesos with all that fizz you get from the original Coca Cola you love all these years!

They were also interviewed by Iya Villania and we had so much fun because the conversation was very casual.

I don't want to disturb you, here's a ton of photos for your viewing pleasure!

With all the talk about them, this made me think...

I suddenly remembered the time when they were here for Bench.

Do you still remember this?

It brings back memories no? :)

Wyeth Nutrition x Synergia Foundation; Nurture, Inspire and Give!

I am stoked to tell you about the things I did the last week and this one's touched my heart in so many ways. You know there are private corporations that help government agencies and NGO's too. I arrived at Greenbelt 5 and found these cute kids from local Bagong Tanyag Elementary school. As a first salvo, they turned these kids into superstars by having them sing in a chorus! It was atrocious! It was very cute!

Wyeth Nutrition and Synergia Foundation launched Nurture.Inspire.Give. It's a huge campaign for the benefit of underprivileged youth. These institutions believe that this simple but ingenious way will make sure that they would be able to provide thousands of notebooks to less fortunate kids throughout the country.

The notebooks are actually also made with artwork done by kids themselves. Allie Arroyo, Antonio Tordesilias and Marco Flores. These kids are all accomplished in the field and they are sharing these designs to promote literacy, have them be creative and value education as a whole. It's a noble gesture and Richard Arboleda - Wyeth Philippines' Director of Communications says "A simple notebook can represent someone's canvas for the future." I totally agree!

This event wasn't just about pretty pictures or paintings. It's all about helping these kids get a better future. Now how do you get to help? That's easy! Any purchase of Aqiva (900g), Progress Pre-school Gold (900g and 1.6Kg), Bonakid Choco Boost (800g), Bonakid Pre-schoool (900g, 1.2Kg and 1.6Kg), Enercal Plus (900g) or ProMama (900g) will get you a limited edition notebook for yourself and a scratch card with it. It's got a promo code which you can send through SMS so a child would be able to receive his/her own notebook and you winning something too. If 50,000 people joined, that would mean 50,000 notebooks for these kids too. You might also win 20K worth of GC's or gift packs worth 5K to 50 raffle winners on July 17 and August 16 which means 100 in total will be given away. Isn't that cool? Private companies, NGO's and government agencies are making sure that they will be able to nurture generation after generations of Filipinos nationwide!
