The PEDRO Fall/Winter Collection 2013

I've been following this brand for quite some time now. Believe me, I've been looking on their shelves a lot and only manage to purchase one pair which I've been able to keep on my closet for a long time. I treasure it a lot; and I've been so blessed lately that I got to cover their Fall-Winter show last week. I've been drooling on the pieces they showed on the runway since then. I have got to get this out and tell you more about the brand PEDRO. They've got one of the most sophisticated lines of Men's and Women's Footwear plus an undoubtedly world class collection of Accessories. This season, they've got it all out in the open and gave Tim Gunn a new meaning on how to "Make it Work!"

There were celebrities of course like famed DJ Mia Ayesa, Male Supermodels and Benchsetters Vince Ferraren and Anthony Semerad, the one and only Ms. Kuh Ledesma and Ms. Daphne Osena-Paez whom I wasn't able to get a photo T_T. Suyen Corporation Executives were there too. Then they started the show!



Of course they had to show the Fall/Winter collection. I'm seeing stripes, relaxed cardigans, coats and oh so awesome shoes! Can I have all of these in size 12? =)

You can me smart casual, suited up, or wearing shorts, just as long as you have PEDRO in your wardrobe and shoes, you can't go wrong!

Cool and comfy coats, sweaters, crisp white shirt won't look bad with classic boat shoes that PEDRO has. It's fun, easy to wear and quite a lot of fun. Nothing fancy, but really stayed classy.

A combo of jeans, cardigan and jackets don't matter too as long as you have suede or faux leather shoes in different colors to match.

Don't be afraid of earth tones because it will only make your assets pop. If you are fair it will be even way better since it'll be cooler to the eyes. Don't be afraid to wear something urban, something of color and texture too!

Then it was time for the gorgeous ladies!

This time they went for intense colors, clean lines and shoes of different heights. Key pieces here are the skirt, the dress and the small clutch. It's way pretty!

Form fitting but still clean lines. I love what the model on the left is wearing. She's Elite Manila's Luane Pasinatto. Pretty no? It reminds me of ladies partying on a yacht; or something to that effect.

Key pieces: The blazer and this awesome print on the pants. It's urban yet they mix and match patters and fabrics. That looks awesome in my books!

I like the fancy shoes! =) Real men wear Fuchsia Pink laces! LOL This is so much fun!

Just by looking at it, they are executing their theme for this season. It's what they call URBAN MODERNISM. We've got layers, textures and colors but mostly on the earth tones. Even if they are structured they still have different fabrics in them so the feel is totally unconventional.

For those who crave for sophisticated independence and want to still exude the feminine silhouette, you can suit up with PEDRO and play along with their blue, green, red and black palettes. Their edgy stilletto pumps that are intricately accessorized and embelished with metals, stones, fabric can ultimately spell your look for this coming season. Bags, clutches that would look so perfect with your outfit are also gonna be out soon.

Men on the other hand need not despair. The versatility and character of the classic browns, maroons, deep blue, cool greys, purple, green and orange hues would be your muse if you want to find balance, sleekness and cleaner lines which is a must this holiday season. Enjoy PEDRO's quality stitching on all their classy footwear and a throng of stylish briefcases studded in metal hardware that puts you on top in the style department. The brand managed to pull it off in this Fall-Winter collection and I've never been so proud I got to witness that first hand on this show. GMA's Sunday Afternoon Game Changer: DORMITORYO

We had the chance to meet the cast of DORMITORYO yesterday and boy it was awesome! I don't want to say something fake and tell you I know all of them but I am so glad of the efforts of GMA Artist Center because they're bringing out their best talents and letting them engage people like us in Social Media. That afternoon was light and the cast had all smiles with them because they'll be starring in this suspense-horror-romance filled program which will air right after Sunday All Stars. It's a huge task for them to take but they are quite confident that they will be able to keep regular viewers glued to their seat because this project is so different, and never have been done in Philippine TV in the afternoon slot.

Nevertheless we had so much fun listening to their own ghost stories as they probably had one like the rest of us. Even their tapings were infested with mysterious things that they were also creeped out about. Their Director Jun Lana is one of the best in the industry and they have been able to work with him already for quite some time now. They've got nothing but good things to say to him and how he manages the project in its entirety. They also in turn learn a lot with Direk Jun because he is so meticulous, that he even gives time to tell the story and the graphics that will go with it. They too are not given the whole script yet so they would be staying on top of their toes every week, they in turn will feel what the audience will be seeing as it shows this coming weekend.

Here's an excerpt of the part of the conference when I asked them "Will you feel bad if you were killed early in the story? If you were going to die on the project, how would you want to do it?"

Congratulations to Lauren Young, Joyce Ching, Enzo Pineda, Ruru Madrid, Annicka Dolonius and Asleigh Nordstrom. I'm sure this will be a hit. Just hold on to your horses and make each part of the story interesting, I'm sure you'll stay on air for a long time if this becomes a phenomenon in GMA's afternoon block.

A Peek at Sofitel Manila's Club Millesime

The memories come crashing back to me when I saw this sign. It gives me fond memories of what I've experienced during my stay in Sofitel Manila. I was so happy to have been able to experience their lounge services in Club Millesime.This is a deal breaker if you're still thinking why you shouldn't go ahead and book a room or two in Sofitel Manila; because in my books, other hotels just don't have it.

We were greeted with warm smiles upon entering the space located at the 10th Floor of Sofitel Manila. It was just a few steps away from our room which faces the grand Manila Bay and Sofitel's own Lagoon. I had my eyes already set on the table I wanted to be in but it was raining outside so we can't go al fresco. These lovely ladies and the other staff members of Club Millesime didn't make us wait at all and proceeded to escort us to our table.

Who wouldn't want to be seen with them right? Aside from that, we were delighted to see they've already set up our table that afternoon. It was cozy!

They are open the whole day for refreshments but make special arrangements for Breakfast, Late Afternoon Snack and evening wine/cocktails. The place is classy and they'd appreciate you to dress a bit for kicks. It's also got its own private library lounge where you can probably hold small chats/meetings if you need it.
 

 

Plus they've got an impressive spread of pastries, cold cuts, hors d'oeuvres which can even impress the most discriminating palate. I love the variety of cookies they had that morning and of course the yummy sandwiches, bagels and smoked salmon that came with it.

 It felt like royalty when they suddenly put this on our table. It's warm, freshly baked bread that I had to pair up with cold butter and a load of this!

From Apricot, Blueberry, Strawberry and Orange Marmalade they've got all the Jams you love that's oh so good! I had to close my eyes too every time I took a bite off the croissant! =)

They've also got freshly brewed coffee that's all frothy and neat. Add a huge amount of cream and it's my kind of cup. This was just heavenly!

They also had salads in the afternoon which I splurged on. I like greens, mostly the peppery ones. They also had different kind of hams and cold cuts plus a variety of salad dressings that could go with anything you put on the plate. Mine had Bleu Cheese and Mustard. Weird for you perhaps, but perfect for me!

Sink your teeth into these delightful marshmallows which you can dip into chocolate or orange melted on candle light. I love fondues! It's my guilty pleasure! I was surprised to also find out that their marshmallows are pretty damn good. Their pastry chef and staff might be really thinking of good ways to serve these. Amazing!

I had around 10 glasses of Sweet, Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice and wanted to have some more if I weren't that full. I loved to stay and take a couple of hours here if I didn't had to go to another event. =)

Business travelers would find it quite easy to use the Club Millesime's Mac computers for internet use. The lounge chairs can be your go to place if you need to relax and watch shows in their wide screen LED TV's. You'll love the culture of French reception as they show you their whole entourage in serving exquisite food, wine, art and services. Oh they'll even ask you how you would want your eggs to be cooked. Mine had Mushroom and cheese on it. It's too pretty to eat!

Don't forget to try dining or having lunch al fresco because Club Millesime has got some awesome views of Manila Bay and the sides of Manila's cultural centers. If it wasn't for the typhoon I would have preferred that. =) Maybe then after all that lovely thing you had for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner you can get started on your magnifique day in Sofitel Manila and their awesome Club Millesime.
