The Philippine Launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 + Gear

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

Honestly, I haven't been to a Samsung phone event so I wasn't really expecting anything new for an android phone. Being an admitted Apple fantard, I always had that hunch that it wasn't going to be good just because the plat for doesn't work for me or shall I say, it doesn't really impress me that much. I was in shock when Samsung had released new concepts on display technology and have seen quite remarkable advancements on their line since the first release of the Note. This even marks the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 + Samsung Gear. These pair of gadgets would astound you in so many levels since it impressed me too when we got to see it a few days ago in SM Aura Premier. Let's take a look!

One of ABSCBN's finest Atom Araullo hosted the show. An admitted techie, he says this day would be full of surprises as Samsung launches the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Gear.

Samsung's Executives and product managers Coco Domingo and Adriene Rivera went up on front and told us some key improvements on this handset and really rad new features.

There was this one time when they asked 5 people to come up on stage and use the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3. They paired them up and synced the units. They placed them together in a line as indicated by the number appearing on the screen. Then after that... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 poof!

It's your very own wide screen MOVIE on display! Everyone was shocked that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could actually do such a thing!

Then they asked Shaira Luna, the country's smartest girl to call on the phone so he could answer it on the Galaxy Gear. The phone rang but didn't get the display he wanted on the watch like thing. They tried the second time on her instead.

You don't have to go to your phone when you want to check a text message. A single swipe on this baby can get your calls answered and your messages read in a few seconds. Isn't that amazing? The video on this SUPER AMOLED display is so crisp and clear too! They also showed how the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 uses just three shapes for easy navigation. The square, the circle and the dot. That part was ingenious!

Then after a few minutes, models came out with the phones in their hand. How can I miss that part?

Pretty good looking hardware if you ask me wouldn't be complete without Samsung's own set of features powered by Android OS. This comes with limitless ways of customizing your phone's menu too. Pegged at 36,900, it won't come cheap of course but you can take advantage of their promo when it comes to stores soon. The Galaxy Gear by the way comes with a camera for you geeks out there who want to spy on someone just by looking at your wrist. It retails for 13,990 in a variety of colors.

Fore more protection, these Flip Covers are affordable at around Php 1,699.00. Try to visit their stores nationwide and see if they still have their devices up for sale.

Make sure you visit the Samsung Experience Shops at SM Aura, SM Mall of Asia, SM City Cebu, SM Consolacion, SM Davao, and SM Lanang so you can get your hands in one of these. Some celebrities who already have one were present during the launch, you might fancy one or more of them I'm sure! =)

That's about it!

American Eagle Outfitters: Live Your Life!

Sunday, October 06, 2013

The touch and class of Americana interpreted on clothes is this season's offering in American Eagle Outfitters.

In a hosted dinner a few days ago, we were invited together with press and new media practitioners to witness a new campaign launched also on other countries where American Eagle Outfitters also resides.

They had lots of people on video representing different states, each wearing, pairing up and using accessories from American Eagle Outfitters. Each individual had different ways, different styles but all exuding that All American factor and lineage presented in clothes. This is how the brand wants to be represented elsewhere... and they properly call it LIVE YOUR LIFE!

They also have opened and inaugurated this new American Eagle Outfitters store in posh Greenbelt 3 in Makati. It's a huge place that's got Men and Women's clothes all on their racks. They've got shirts, blouses, jeans, jackets, socks, shoes, accessories and intimate wear that would please the most discriminating fashion critic. And on that note, please watch this video on HD!

I hope the video I made did justice to what they want to present their clientele in the Philippines. As for me, I got my haul of Jeans (a size smaller coz I got thin I think LOL) and a couple of colored socks which I absolutely love!

There were other items to take note of like the large jackets (for men) and the boots which is currently on display on their shop's window. You'll never ever regret getting these items from the Greenbelt 3 branch because in my opinion, it's the best in quality. If you are in the area, you MUST shop at American Eagle Outfitters. You'll never regret it. And don't say I told you so! =)

The Marks and Spencer Food Fair

A nice quaint afternoon while watching my timeline mentioned Marks and Spencer was having an event at the Eastwood Mall in Quezon City. I was literally just across that place so my friends from Nuffnang Philippines hooked me up to be in this great event.

Marks and Spencer has been my go to place for fashion and some of my prized jackets, shirts, overalls and accessories came from the same brand. Twas nice to finally see they've been going out and telling people about one more thing that I love about their store... it's the FOOD FOOD FOOD!

It's time for people to know more about Marks and Spencer's food through their own Food Fair. To get some of their best food items and show how it's easy to get imported quality food at a new, more affordable price.

We arrived around 5ish so it was on the portion where Chef Luigi Mulach was showing everyone how to cook with food items found in Marks and Spencer. I was schooled, even shocked to know that they already have frozen items in the store. Check out how he incorporates some of Marks and Spencer's best sellers and whip up a complete meal in a few minutes. Pretty darn good stuff if you ask me!

The event was hosted by ETC's very own Sam Oh. She also introduced the young Chef Mulach :)

They said their pleasantries and just look at those bottles and containers in front which Chef Luigi will cook in a bit. They've even got frozen items on the menu which is so awesome! You don't have to spend time preparing too much before you cook. *thumbs up!*

Chef Luigi also recommended some of the great canned and bottled items that Marks and Spencer has on their shelf. Just look at their Tomato sauce, cream based ones and even Pesto. A dollop or two in a pot with cooked pasta, throw in some bacon, seafood and voila you have dinner served!

Look at his masterpiece! This is Chef Luigi Mulach's Crab Cakes, Duck Spring Rolls and Ham sandwich. I loved the spring rolls so much that I ate it in just a few seconds! No joke! =)

This one is his Creamy Pomodoro Pasta. Made with bottled real tomatoes from Marks and Spencer plus a few tablespoons of Pesto and cream. Too good for pictures eh?

This is Chef's Vegetable Curry and Bagoong Rice. Curry was from Marks and Spencer's frozen section, and it was GOOD! It had the right amount of spice and totally authentic! I loved this too! I was also a little dumbfounded about why the veggies were still crunchy and fresh even if it was already cooked. I guess you can only expect the best from this brand!

This is the Mango Cheesecake from Chef Luigi Mulach. It's not to presentable here because it's already cut but boy it was so good. Marks and Spencer has got the frozen section filled with ready made cheesecakes that you'll surely love, just whip up sugar, fruits and flambe it. There you go! You have your own specially made dessert in just a few minutes!

I also had to go and shop before going home. So I picked up a few items from their rack especially their tea! Oh this is so nice to have while in the office!

Of course I had to have my soft candies too, kids would love PERCY PIG and FIZZY COLA BOTTLES

Never for get one thing if you have the tea ready!

These awesome cookies didn't last very long. The ginger snaps were spicy and perfect for a night cap. Whilst the Milk Chocolate digestives were a cool companion with the Raspberry flavored tea. This is my kind of heaven on a chilly afternoon. It was really magnifique!

Grabbed one of these bottles too for a fresh, sunny softdrink that's got flavors of Florida Oranges all year round. It was oh so good! Ahhhh!

I'd like to take this bit to thank Marks and Spencer for bringing the best of fashion, food and lifestyle in the Philippines! Now we don't have to get to Europe to get one of these babies to your home. Just take a quick peek at their stores near you and grab one or more of these items to have a taste of what it is to have Marks and Spencer... and can be now in your own kitchens too! =)
