Holidays at Sofitel Manila

Friday, December 20, 2013

Every time I step into the floors of Sofitel Manila, I feel right at home. No, let me correct that... I feel like I'm on a vacation home. So I always make it a point to visit that place frequently because I get relaxed, happy inside and festive. I know, that might have been like a juxtaposed wording but that's exactly how I feel. These holidays, it becomes even better.

There's a full Ginger Bread house in the lobby. They are also selling these sweet treats so make sure you get one for your home. It can be a centerpiece, something that you can put on tables to make guests feel welcome or just under the tree.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, or in this case a pebble pit to roast those awesome treats.

The good ole Christmas Log which you often see in European houses, they've got it LONGER and draped with Christmas Candies. Tis was SO GOOD and uber chocolatey. I took home some too.

Kids would even marvel at this lil nook where they have a real deal choochoo train spinning around on a little Christmas Village and these nice Ginger Bread houses that Santa wishes more of too!

Gorgeous Multi Awarded Industry Champion Chef Tweet and her team even came out with this cute little Christmas gift boxes made of chocolate. There were also some small Christmas Trees and other designs that are perfect for the occasion. Mmmm.... made my mouth water just by the sight of it! I almost didn't want to eat it because it's too cute! I especially love the Christmas Ball pralines and the broken white chocolate they have on display. I'm telling you, Sofitel Manila is the best in desserts!

Their marshmallows? SUPERB and they are soft and pillowy like clouds! Pour chocolate from the small fountain and it's something that you'll close your eyes for. The breads are all freshly baked, the cheese are creamy and sharp. Why don't you talk to your friends and family and get this intimate dinner at Le Bar a try. Or maybe do the full thing at Spiral, the country's best buffet!

Get the ambiance complete by sitting right beside this fireplace that will surely set the mood that Christmas and New Year brings.

If you want your function to be extra festive, get this arranged with Sofitel Manila and they'd be glad to do so. They even make special brews for Christmas courtesy of the smart people at Le Bar. You should also try the warm Red Wine. Lovely!

Don't worry about food, they've got that covered. They've got the best Christmas Menu and savory dishes a dinner table should never go without! They'll even carve it for you. I SUPER love the Foie Gras.. it melts in your mouth... really good.

Don't worry about your gatherings because they've got this every night. The band plays standards and new ones so there won't be generation gaps.. just sheer enjoyment and entertainment!

They even lit up the whole place just for you through in a ceremony a few weeks ago. It definitely started my Christmas. Executives of the hotel were all there to start off the longest celebration of Christmas in the world! You can only see that in the Philippines!

Now imagine your family staring at this tall structure and having the time of their life at Sofitel Manila, isn't that just perfect? They've also got Wine classes, discounts on Vietura beauty treatments, Christmas trophies, Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet, a Magnifique Getaway package, New Years Eve dinner at Le Bar and more. All you need to do is ask them thru fbreservations@sofitelmanila.com for packages, offers that would make holiday wishes come true for you and your family. No fuss, all amazing experience at the best 5 star hotel in the Philippines - Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

SUPer SUPer, MAJOR MAJOR Solaire Moment

Thursday, December 19, 2013

It's been so good to have experienced Solaire a few days ago during our Bloggers Christmas Party. I felt I really have to come back. Now, there's even more reason to create memories in that joint when I saw this photo lugging along on my timeline.

There's news that this will be a SUPer SUPer MAJOR MAJOR Solaire Moment and they'll  be greeting you at the doors of this spectacular venue themselves! Who is it? Well you probably have all the clues right in front of you and all you got to do is be there on Saturday at 7PM. They'll even go ahead and take photos with you if you wish! Isn't that neat?

Bing Dio Salon

For those who've read my post about BND Hair Gallery ages ago, you know I've entrusted my hair to Cher Nogara - her family has been in this industry for years; and I must say she's the only person who's done what I wished for in in style. I get tons of complements afterwards and credit them for making me look this good.

I'm so ecstatic to make changes in my hair after my long stint in the corporate world. That part always held me down. So I went in and asked to get my hair color changed. A few words, and she already knew what I wanted. See, salon owners don't usually have that connection with their clients and they on the other hand treat you like their own. I felt I was with friends, or family. They talk to you and feel right at home.

The process of bleaching isn't easy especially when your hair is jet black like mine (well all Pinoys are like that right?). It would take a couple of rounds to make your hair lighter and yes, I must admit it is not a process that would be for everyone. They on the other hand already knew what to do and it wasn't difficult for them at all. They must have done this a ton of times and it really shows.

It is little painful but you just have to make sure you have ventilation or air conditioning up so it would be bearable. If this were ordinary color, it would be a cinch for them but I have plans for my hair... They knew how to exactly do it. I was trying to get it to platinum blonde or anything close to it but as I said it is a process. I might need to go back next week to get everything done. As for now, it's already in Ash Blonde.

And I've never felt so glad Cher took care of me like she's done this a hundred times. I already look a lot lighter and it complemented my skin. She told me to come back next week to finish it off even if I'm already looking good with this.

They are located at 2/F Pentagrand building #58 Mother Ignacia Ave., Quezon City. It's almost right in front of St. Mary's College Quezon City. Salon opens at 10am and closes around 7PM. Just go up the stairs and get your hair did like mine. When you feel your salon only does hair, try to visit them and get your own Bing Dio Salon Moment. I already had mine. :)

Silent Auction In Trinoma

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

There is joy in giving. With the recent plight of our countrymen in the Visayas region, both whom have been victims of the huge earthquake in Bohol; and typhoon Yolanda who's ravaged several provinces in that area, Ayala Malls wanted to give more to rebuild their homes and community.

Up for grabs are items from the best fashion and beauty brands and much more. This will be held on December 19, 2013 - thats this Thursday 5PM at the 4th Floor Cinema Lobby in TriNoma, EDSA corner North Avenue, Quezon City.

Rowena Tomeldan of Ayala Malls, Thelma San Juan of PDI and Citcit Sioson of Look Magazine.

This event is brought to you by AYALA Malls, in cooperation with Look Magazine, Inquirer Lifestyle and AYALA Foundation.

I'll be there too, so I hope yo see you on Thursday! :)

Update: I'm here now in the auction and am really excited about the items I did bid on.. Hope to win some of them! :)

I would have bid on those Sebago shoes but it's gonna be a tight fit at size 10.

This Apple TV is also a steal at 2,495, hope no one bids over my price.

This shirt and pants is a little procey for me but since it is for charity, who cares right?

A quartet of Philippine Madrigal Singers were there too to sing lovely Christmas Songs during the launch!

Hurry shoppers! You gotta run to trinoma because this will only last until December 22! Just proceed to the Cinema Lobby right beside the carousel.
