Giving Gifts? Make it a MemoirMag!

Monday, March 31, 2014

When you've got really good friends from high places and you can't think about what to give them when it's their birthday/just have a special occasion, you might want to consider this cool thing from my friends over at Memoirmag. I was surprised to receive this a couple of days ago in the mail and they've got a pretty great idea of putting memories into this form. Something that you can see everyday, something that is very PERSONAL. Things like these are indeed priceless. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I remember meeting Roanne for the first time in a bloggers trip to Guimaras a few years back. Since then, I felt so comfortable with her and her brother. Her demeanor in life is so amazing and even if she's a successful professional in Macau, she stays grounded and humble. She's one of the most beautiful faces I've seen too so it's just right that we become first class friends. She then gave me these awesome trinkets from Memoirmag.

MEMOIRMAG is basically a product and a service. They turn your "precious moments" into magnets. If you are like me who spends countless hours of their day appreciating their good looking selfies online, this is perfect for you. Or if you have those special moments on Instagram that you want immortalized on magnet form then this is the way to do it. In their case, they chose the awesome photos from my @kumagcow Instagram account and got that printed like this!

They prolly use really good photo paper because it's shiny. Plus I think they have taste just by looking at the photos they chose in this bit. It's been years since I've found that photographer photo on the bottom right when I was in the documentary for street photography in Atom Araullo's show KALYE. That show isn't even here anymore, but now I can see the memories EVERYDAY.

Grumpy? No. I love this particular shot done my Ron Torres during the wedding of my friends Louie and April Niduaza which I think happened 2 years ago. I don't usually have portraits but this was perfect LOL. See what I mean about memories?

This one was part of the series I did for Converse. I love my jacket from Marks and Spencer with the bags and shoes from Converse! Woot! You can pick your Outfit of the day and put it into magnets like these. Wouldn't that be awesome?

Now my photos would take the spotlight in our home refrigerator so that every time someone opens the door, they will see me first haha! Aside from that, I can probably put this on my home office table and put the memos on it. It's pretty darn useful and it's gonna look so good if you put it anywhere in your home... now why don't you get one for your friends/family?! How? That's easy!

1) You can go to their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MemoirMag and check out their channels

2) Or Email them memoirmag@gmail.com and ask about their services.

3) Check out their Instagram account or their website for more information about their product and services. That's in http://instagram.com/memoirmag and http://memoirmag.blogspot.com.

Plus the price of these things are really affordable. Giving gifts isn't really about the amount you pay for it, sometimes it's just the thought that comes with it. Make sure you check them out and they'll have it delivered right to your doorstep. It's really awesome! You should have one for yourself and the ones you love! Now do yourself a favor and get those digital photos printed now by Memoirmag!

Glucerna 1-2-3 Challenge Update

I've been able to replace one meal per day using Glucerna SR. As with some of the usual high blood pressure and  heightened sugar levels, yes it did make a difference. I also lost a couple of pounds. Initially I had problems coping because I usually eat a ton during dinner when I only have a glass of Glucerna SR for lunch. I adjusted and tried to eat less after a while. Sugar levels as used in strips go around 130-180 but I remember having 240+ before I did this, so in that regard I did make some improvements.

A few weeks ago, I ran out of it so I kinda had to go back with the usual lunch. I haven't checked yet with the doctor what my current levels were after the series of Glucerna replacement meals. Though I'm sure it was in the normal levels because I've never felt so good even if I was losing a little weight. I wasn't even grumpy at all after a few days which means I've probably adjusted already.

This new batch of boxes arrived just today and I am excited to flood my self with Vanilla. It's not too sweet, it's just right. The chocolate is actually the favorite of a lot of people I know that take Glucerna SR too and I can't blame them because it's also really good. Plus if they have cravings for Chocolate, that word alone would really get them going.

As for me, I'm having this gigantic mug of Glucerna SR with lots of ice. It dissolves really well in cold water and it tastes just as good when I last had it. Hopefully this time, I'll lose more weight in the process. I must say that 1. It works, 2. It doesn't raise blood sugar levels and would be perfect for those who are having issues with diabetes. I strongly suggest though that in any diet, you must first consult a doctor that would exactly recommend your regimen.

I'd like to take this bit and thank the good people of Glucerna SR who's taking their time to take this journey with me. Thank you also to my friends who also help me NOT crave for lunch every time we go out. I'll do my best to stick to the plan and further normalize my sugar levels. Blessed be.

P.S.

If you would like to try the it with me, please see this post about the Glucerna 1-2-3 Challenge here.

Note: I was chosen to be given samples by Glucerna. Opinions stated on this post are my own. This is not a paid post and honestly, I still love it! :)

Auctioneer Group Harringtons' Lifestyle Auction

Sunday, March 30, 2014

I've been in tons of expo's and art events that I've probably seen them all. With the turnout of thousands I'm sure there's always someone and somebody that hoards pieces because they usually run out of the ones I like in seconds. Deals don't come often but I think there's big news about Harringtons that would definitely make enthusiasts rush to Rockwell Tent in Rockwell Drive in Makati. It's going to happen this April 6, that's a Sunday from 10AM to 7PM in the evening.

A preview will also happen on April 5, Saturday from 10AM to 7PM so if you want to get a glimpse of what they have in store, you might want to go there early. I heard they are coming out with paintings by top Filipino artists, sculptures, art installations, furniture, luxury cars and a lot more more. For sure there will be a wide assortment of junkets and trinkets to find on this weekend!

Here are some really good ones that have been confirmed to be at stake in the auction

This is Jewelry designed by the one and only Anita Del Rosario. It's beautiful!

This is an artwork by famed Filipino artist Arturo Luz. He's pretty well known around the world and if you get this piece, you'll be part of the few who will get to own one. Will you let this slip your collection?

Shiny, lustrous and gorgeous chandeliers by designer Gabby Barredo. Everything is going to be priced reasonable because this is their first salvo. So what are you waiting for? If you are interested to bid, you may register on both dates right on the venue... or contact HMR at 5486900 local 6962 for more details. Oh wait, here's one more!

A medical doctor made this, Toribio Herrera. He was featured by a Harvard Phd holder Rodolfo Paras-Perez which made his artwork known internationally. Will you let this piece escape your hands? Then do the right thing and check it out during the viewing, it'll be the best advice you'll ever get from me as an art enthusiast! I think the last time I checked I have taste.  :)

Check this video out!

See you there!

Instant 3D View with EyeFly 3D!

Look at what we have here! It's that technological wonder I actually saw in CES last year called EyeFly 3D. If you are fond of 3D movies and hologram like images, then this is absolutely for you! It doesn't require you to wear those uncomfortable 3D glasses like in the movies because it's all in the Nanotechnology screen protector itself. It's something new but simple; it literally make the 3D glasses obsolete. Looking at the images and video quality after application, it makes total sense.

I strongly suggest though that before you do put in the screen protector, make sure you download the free application first. The app has an alignment section where you can see if the position of your screen protector has been installed properly. It's also has labeled the film itself so you can tell if you're looking at the front or back of it.

It was launched officially last April 2013 in Singapore, it has now landed Philippine shores and available at your nearest tech accessory shops nationwide. Best of all, you don't have to get thousands of dollars to experience 3D on your devices as it is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPod Touch 5th Generation, iPad Air, iPad Mini and Nexus 7. The application that comes with it also is quite intelligent. With it, you can easily create, share and experience 3D like no other.

The box contains the EyeFly 3D manual, the cleaning cloth and the 3D screen protector. You'll see the evident increase in depth of field that would make your own photos and videos stunning and life like.

I thought it would also be hard to see photos because of the 3D effect but I was wrong. It actually did not affect even made the shots crisp and crystal clear without any distortions.

I took off the existing screen protector that I had on the iPhone5. It was a little fingerprint hungry and it had my screen full of smudges. I was looking forward to not have this seen with the new EyeFly 3D.

I proceeded cleaning the screen of my phone so when I put in the new one, it won't have any dust on it. The cleaning cloth really did it's job. The pack also includes a sticky plastic strip that you can use to pick up dust off your screen. I had to do several passes before getting everything out. Bubbles usually happen if there's some object on the screen so use this strip as needed.

I immediately went in and watched a 3D clip off Youtube. I really think it made a whole lot of difference than seeing this in plain view versus when you watch this with the EyeFly 3D screen. You must make sure to use the app first so you get to see if the alignment of the screen protector gives you the 3D view it can fully give. Download videos like these or use your existing ones and use the video app to watch it. The screen also did not become too slippery and felt quite porous to the touch. It will not promote smudges upon touch. No smudges means clearer view right?

You can use the EyeFly 3D image viewer or video viewer that's all FREE in the Apps Store so you can see 3D life like images on screen. To clean, a simple cloth and alcohol based cleaner would do. Don't worry about the Nano lenses on the film because it's scratch resistant plastic and engineered that way.

2 Million lenses just by putting this super thin screen on your device. If you want that to happen, then get the awesome EyeFly 3D on your phone and tablet. You've got unlimited movies to watch on 3D and it's this nanotechnology based product that can only do it.

You'll see the difference. I'm sure I did! Check out why Nanovue won awards around the world and make the EyeFly 3D your next choice for jazzing up your iPhone. It's worth the wait!
