The New Kata M1, Re-Launch of Kata i3 and the Kata Singing Idol Event

This is the first time that I'm seeing KATA, a new mobile brand based in Hong Kong and the Philippines. With the era of mobile phone manufacturers giving ample presence in our country, Kata presents itself with the re-launch of their Kata i3 and the formidable Kata M1 models that will surely make Filipino consumers excited about their brand. Before that, we got to enjoy their Kata Singing Idol Search during their event in SM City North Edsa a few days ago. This was practically a Facebook Fan Page search turned singing contest. I must say, they've got really good singers that afternoon that delighted the crowd.

These ladies, Ms. Ma. Anna Marie Boctoy, Ms. Crystal Lagman and Ms. Stephanie Lee were the top 3 finalists who made it. They performed “Not Like The Movies” by Katy Perry, “Let It Go” from the Disney movie Frozen and “Chasing Pavements” by Adele respectively.

Kata’s Country Manager, Manuel Delos Santos, Melchor Villamor, Asst. Operations Manager were also there during the event. They awarded the winners with their own Kata Mobile phones. The winner also won a brand new spanking Kata i3! Seen on the photo above is the Voice of the Philippines Season 1 contestant Deb Victa also hosted the show. I must say, she was good.

I was a little jealous though when the winner was announced. The Kata i3 she got has a 5-inch Super HD display and a 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor. It's also got a whopping 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera that takes sharper images. It's 16GB internal memory that is expandable up to 32GB promises you'll have all the apps you need when you use it. Congratulations Crystal Lagman! The first ever Kata Singing Idol! Runner ups went home with Kata Venus 3 too.

Then they announced the new Kata M1!It's pegged at the affordable price of Php 9,999.00 (formerly almost 12K). I love the RAM they put in on this unit plus the really nice specifications on the rear and front cameras. You'll surely love the shots if you get to have these new Kata phones. I haven't tested one yet but all Kata Stores and Kata kiosks have them on display. They can easily let you test it out if you plan to buy one. Hopefully they can lend me a review unit soon.

The Launch of the 50th allphones Philippines Store!

I've been talking about them lately because they present technology and marketing a sub group of phones that can rival most packages and bundles by host companies. TAO Corporation, allphones Australia and Globe Telecom just recently launched their 50th store at the Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, Pasig City. 

It was fun and the dancers just moved to Pharell's Happy song all afternoon. It was every one else's LSS even after the event ended. We got to ask the executives from allphones Australia, Globe and allphones Philippines about this partnership and they all have good things to say about it. 

With Globe's hold on the Philippine Post Paid market, they are only bound to exceed sales in this venue because of better offers and great deals in every allphones shop. They will get each store to locally be able to stress which ones are more effectively selling or not because they want to hear from their number one fans... the consumers. They are so proud about the technology they invested in making all the registration and requirement procedures because they are now paperless and use tablets in all allphone stores nationwide!

They have plans as affordable as 299 up until the highend ones that can cater a bigger market. Aside from that, they will also cater to contract periods that last from 6 to 24 months in the stores says Peter Bithos, Chief Operating Advisor of Globe. allphones Australia also commended TAO's success in expanding rapidly in major cities and can't wait how allphones Philippines would continue to grow come last quarter of this year.

They were able to accommodate a lot of people during their opening and didn't get piled on the counter. The prices on those handsets were really attractive and the choices were great. The have tablets, phablets, affordable phones and the newest ones. They also have accessories like power bank units and Belkin phone covers for those who want to jazz up their phones.

When we got an invite by Bench a few days ago, I was a little clueless about what the buzz was all about. A new product seems to be in the works and they were announcing it Friday. Bench/ is home for me so I visited the place and had myself settled in a dreamy white room filled with media, Bench celebrities and executives. It was indeed a wonderful white night!

Samsung Philippines Launches Galaxy S5, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit

We were there a few days ago to witness the launch of Samsung's newest phone the Samsung Galaxy S5, plus their new Samsung Gear 2 Neo and Samsung Gear Fit. It was one of the most awaited phones in the market because of the promised features it'll bring to consumers including this phone to be waterproof! No joke!

It's got one of the fastest Auto Focus features in its camera so taking a shot would be a cinch! You can also get vivid HDR quality images if you want better captures. It's Selective Focus can easily contain your subject and blur the background, one of which is seen in today's DSLR's. 

The thing even measures your heart rate with it's built in sensor. Health buff? The phone is perfect for you! Just place your finger on the back and it'll do exactly that.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 also connects to the new Samsung Gear 2 Neo and Samsung Gear Fit so if you run, bike and tumble... you've got the perfect reason to buy these gadgets.

One of the craziest things I've ever seen is the "Download Booster" feature. It boasts of connecting both to LTE and WIFI TOGETHER! That'll surely make your movies and music leeching much faster! This is also Wireless AC that uses MIMO technology.

They demonstrated the phones capability to be dust and water resistant by putting the phone underwater and on sand... I was amazed they even moved the touch screen while doing that! Amazing!

Watched how siblings Phil and James Younghusband were testing out the Fingerprint Security Features of the phone. It'll open it up in seconds without the fear of losing your precious phone or data. Phil also won a phone that evening so he's one of the first who got one in the Philippines. The phone also has Ultra Power Saving Mode that said can get it to last up to 12.5 days. I have yet to test that out because I don't own one. :P

It's got a 5.1” Full HD Super AMOLED Display so watching HD video or just plain images would be a treat!

 The party was also grand because DJ Tommy T aka Tom Taus spinned for us that night. There was free flowing Hennessy too!

Now why wouldn't I get one of these phones no? It's price is also a little high (Smart pegged it at Php 39,990.00) but if you are after the newest one that can weather the elements and get you the best technology in phones, make it a Samsung Galaxy S5!
