Vhong Navarro Stars in New Comedy Film "Da Possessed"

Saturday, April 12, 2014

The whole cast except Kimpoy was there during the blogcon of the Vhong Navarro movie Da Possessed. This is his first movie after the controversial rape case filed against him by Deniece Cornejo and Delfin Lee. It was great news for the star to have been able to get justice when the DOJ finally junked the case last April 4, 2014. The film marks his comeback in the movies too which is hopefully going to be at par with his previous ones Mr. Suave, D' Anothers and Agent X44 all of which consequently have been directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal.

Veteran comedian Joey Marquez, Joy Viado, Smokey Manoloto and Beverly Salviejo are also part of the cast. They are joined by not so gay actor John "Sweet" Lapuz who's complaining that he's been typecasted as a gay guy in films and the sexy-sultry Ms. Solenn Heussaff as Vhong's love interest in this movie. One of the film's writer was also present to give some facts on the creative process too. He says it wasn't hard to create material for Vhong because no matter what you give him, he can execute it well. He's got his own brand of humor and you can't just find that in most actors these days.

It was funny to hear them tell some of the stories while filming. They were also shelling some secrets in doing comedy and how they attacked the roles that were given to them. Solenn Heussaff also hinted that she had a crush on Vhong, which the actor gladly got so excited with to the delight of the crowd.

They also had a time when Joy Viado and Beverly Salviejo had a disagreement in statements, so automatically Smokey Manaloto, John Lapuz and Joey Marquez ganged up on them and wanted to make them fight. They were hilarious!

No matter how serious this may be, it'll still fall on a hilarious situation. With spectacular writing and great situational scenes, this is bound to be another blockbuster in the making. This is also an offering for Star Cinema's 20th anniversary and the pressure for Vhong to make this movie perform the same way as their previous films is big... he said he'll do his best and hopes the audience would love it the way they do. It's a little naughty, a little more in the manly humor as the writer explains but it's not cheap slapstick. You'll laugh and have a good time with your family and friends if you choose to watch this new Vhong Navarro starrer. You'll also see how fantastic Vhong Navarro could be in physical comedy. I even heard he's the Jim Carrey of the Philippines, I couldn't agree more.

Da Posessed will be shown on April 19 in your favorite theaters. They won't have a premier night but will be shown on Black Saturday so make sure you rush to theaters and see this film. They say this is better than Vhong's previous films so let's see if they can prove that statement shall we?! :)

The New Partnership Of Alaska Milk and FrieslandCampina

We've been sharing the journey of growing up in the Philippines with Alaska. All your soups, main dishes or even your desserts have Alaska in them all these years. It's different, creamy and you know it's made with quality and freshness in mind. A few days ago, a partnership between Alaska and Royal FrieslandCampina has been formed to bring dairy expertise to Filipinos. FrieslandCampina is actually a Dutch dairy cooperative composed of thousands of farmers in the Netherlands. It's roots go back to 1879 and they've been gearing to expand their business for a long time and this move to acquire Alaska in the Philippines was but apt. They have high regards to what Alaska's role play in Filipinos lives. Now, they are bringing even more great products backed with the experience of 130 years!

Tifany Santuyo, a nutrition consultant for Alaska corporation told us a picture of a child's health in the Philippines. Using data from previous years, it only gave us news that wasn't pretty. The incapacity to get the right amount of vitamins and essential nutrients make a huge percent of Filipinos prone to growth stunting and wasting. This also happens in the first 1,000 days of their life, so making sure you get the right amount of nutrition is essential. She also adds how important the Mom's health is and its factors with the nutrition of newborns.

Dr. Anne Schaafsma explained to us the importance of protein and how nutrients can be absorbed by the body. He also took time talking about protein denaturation and how it happens. There are a lot of factors why there are problems in digestion with children and one of the major factors why it happens is glycation. It's when proteins combine with carbohydrates happens, resolving this would just take mild processing which makes it digested better and properly.

FrieslandCampina has been always in the forefront of quality; and together with their owners, they continue to produce milk and it's byproducts without shortcuts. They believe in the Grass to Glass process and with their emphasis on food safety, quality in farming, milking, collecting, processing, packaging and distribution, you are sure that what you are getting on your table is the best there is in the world. 130 years plus Alaska's 40 years in the Philippine market, just spells success in holding the title as the lead milk brand in the country bringing only the best for Filipino families just as they always have in the past years.

Now you know you're getting the best when Alaska is on your table. See? :)

Easter Got So Better With Villa Del Conte Chocolates

Wednesday, April 09, 2014

I rarely get surprised when getting stuff but this one's the sweetest! A few days ago, this arrived in my home and I didn't get to take a good look at it until I went to Solaire a couple of nights ago during the Century Tuna Superbods 2014 launch. It was too cute to eat so I stared at it for a few minutes before deciding I should try and taste one. I know how precious this is because it is after all the Villa Del Conte brand in Padova, Italy.

The packaging alone was neat and classy. It's not too fancy, buy you get to know that it's perfect to give away during Easter Sunday which is going to happen a few days from now. Villa Del Conte chocolates was brought here and distributed by lovely couple Vince and Rhoda Aldanese. A short pilgrimage to the country made them fall in love with these sweet wonders. They immediately made arrangements to get this to the Philippines and elsewhere internationally because of its delectable chocolate goodness.

This lovely bunch right here is their Ovicini. It's sugar coated dreamy dark chocolate eggs that's got soft gooey hazelnut cream filling inside. I was swearing when I had my first bite. I knew right then that this thing was what dreams were made of. The crunchy thin outer shell mimic candy on a good day. It's highly addictive I guess, but with good reasons.

They usually run out of these in stores because everybody loves artisanal stuff. Their other products like the Praline Balls and Praline Sticks are to die for! This Villa del Conte Ovicinis limited edition 100g Easter Bunny Pouch is priced at Php 380.00. Perfect for the kids and kids at heart. Their stores are located in Greenbelt 5, Shangri-La Mall, Resorts World, Alabang Town Center and Robinson’s Magnolia. If you would like to place special orders just call them at 8932575 or 6216101. Give in and indulge on chocolates on Easter. After all, he's risen and got you the life you've always wanted. It's time you spend something for yourself. You deserve the great things in life and this is it!
