Andrea Torres Celebrates Birthday at New Hope SPED Center

Thursday, May 15, 2014

We went to a small suburb in Kamias Quezon City a few days ago with the one and only Andrea Torres to visit the kids at New Hope (SPED) Center. It's her birthday and she wanted it to be something special and all about kids who have special needs. Andrea Torres has a brother in the same predicament and she feels a connection with the kids right after she saw them in the center. She wanted to make them happy so she chose to celebrate here. It was heartwarming and I saw her tear up several times.

The kids received these goodies from Andrea Torres' sponsors. Thank you so much to Petrol, Active White, Sundance and GMA Artist Center. They also got them bags and school supplies so they can use it in the center.

Andrea was so thankful to have been able to visit the kids in the center. She even wanted to bring her brother there but he made tantrums that morning and didn't want to stress him out. Her family is taking good care of him and know what these kids are going through. It's not easy and she gives kudos to the educators and volunteers working in New Hope.

New Hope SPED Center thanked Andrea Torres for choosing to celebrate her birthday with them. They were also thankful for the efforts of GMA because other shows also give them time and supplies so kids in the center benefit from them. These kids were really good and they've learned a lot because they're not that unruly. They probably learned how to manage them and give them less stress that's why they're so good mannered. Their outbursts are controlled and whatever their guardians tell them, the kids are so obedient and follow instructions. You can't really see that sometimes on kids who just stay at home and don't get exposed in learning centers like these. The center really did something good with the kids.

Happy happy birthday Andrea! Hope your wishes come true! You can catch Andrea on Bubble Gang every Friday and Sunday All Stars every week. The day after this event, she went to Cambodia with Mikael Daez to promote With A Smile as it was showing there. They've been getting really good feedback from the network there and visiting would strongly promote it. Good luck Andrea! Thank you also GMA Artist Center for letting us tag along and see the kids ourselves.

Colours Done Right at La Belleza Hair and Nail Salon

Hi! I'm John! I'm the author of the Men's lifestyle website KUMAGCOW.COM. Just like you, I'm a guy who always wants to look good.

Efforts? I've had a few; and if you see me in person, you'll say that this big guy probably needs major maintenance and I'm sure you'll definitely notice my hair because that's what my friends always do. Well for starters, I don't experiment on my own like when I did it back in college... because now, I have experts who do it for me. Have you heard of La Belleza Hair and Nail Salon?

La Belleza Hair and Nail Salon is the venture of Cher Nogara and Beng Manuel. Their salon was formerly called Belleza Y Estilo but had to change it recently for registry reasons. Cher and Beng are no strangers in the salon industry; and they've won a couple of awards in the past and still doing hair, nail and make up for artists, singers and even local and international celebrities!

I was really glad that they took care of me when I visited them last week for a retouch. They were OC'd a bit when they saw my vacation photos in Boracay as I had a line on my hair since it's been a while when I got this bleached. They're like that, they tell you like family when you need their services. They also talk to you like one if you get to sit down on their comfy chairs inside the salon.

Bleaching takes a lot of effort and it isn't for everyone. I'm so glad they're quite experienced in hair color so this is just a cinch for them. I am crazy and I want my crowning glory to be really different. I sometimes hate the small salons in my neighborhood who don't even want to color my hair the way I want to. La Belleza talked to me and asked what I want, then suggested modifications when they see that it wouldn't work. Aesthetics is something that you can't teach people overnight and since they've won awards in the hair color category, I trust them 100% and went ahead with the bleaching then color. That time, we agreed on Deep Red and Silver. Using Davines hair products (which is also nature friendly), Cher did it like clockwork. I loved how it turned out!

See what I mean by great color? This is two toned hair one with Deep Red shades on the sides and the back and the top is Silver/Ash Gray Blonde. I haven't met competent people who can do this to my hair. Add to that, they've got nail spa services too so it's like a one stop shop. If you are around the area or have to have something special, try La Belleza Hair and Nail Salon.

La Belleza is located at the 2nd floor of the EK Bldg at #50 Don Antonio II Holy Spirit Drive, Quezon City, Philippines 1127. If you want great hair please have an appointment by calling or texting 09264563433/09277172014. You can also email them at labellezahairandnailsalon@gmail.com. See how easy it is to look this good? I know right!

Oh before I forget, I might get some of you to experience this soon! Stay tuned for our giveaways soon courtesy of the good people from La Belleza!

Converse Sneakers Clash

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

This sight just brought me back to second year college while I was in the brink of insanity because of my AC/DC circuits subject. Though this one has very good load on it because CONVERSE just released their Spring 2014 collection. This is part of a worldwide release of an homage to the old Converse All Star '70 designed by Chuck Taylor. This is Sneakers Clash.

Included in this collection is the camouflage and zebra prints. It was first seen in the Converse All Star Chuck '70. They are bringing the nostalgia and put them into new styles now as seen above. This also contains a heavier, thicker canvas textile, a smaller toe box, reinforced stitched heels and strips, plus premium nickel metal parts, thicker and cushioned interiors.

They also introduced Michael Carandang as one of their endorsers. On this shot is the President and CEO of Filcon Manufacturing Corporation Ms. Margie Go. Carandang says Converse is like second nature to him and he can't remember not wearing them even in the US. Michael is the producer of shows like Jerry Springer, America's Next Top Model and the Tyra Banks Show. He's a full pledged Filipino and has decided to stay here now. I've seen him countless times in Philippine Fashion Week and shows from other brands but he looks happy here.

TV5 Showcases Talents, Hosted First Day of Ad Summit 2014

It's my first time going to the Ad Summit. I have been hearing about this from Advertising people and they only have good words. I wasn't expecting much but given that I'll be seeing new people from the broadcasting and advertising industry, I knew this would be something for the books. TV5 has been steadfastly producing great shows recently and with that, a multitude of services included in their portfolio. Their theme for this year is Convergence. It connotes being affectionate, closeness, intimacy, fellowship, friendship, being inseparable and or warm fellowship. They introduced this to the market so sponsors can take advantage of having maximum visibility. With the powers of Smart, Smart Ads and TV5, you'll see something bigger and cover a wide range of audience in this competitive market.

TV5 has asserted it's position in making quality programs and cover even the best sports organizations in the country. With TV greats such as the PBA, the Gilas Pilipinas games, Celebrity Dance Battle, Beki Boxer, WOW Mali, Astig, Confessions of a Torpe, One of the Boys and other shows making a mark on Philippine TV ratings, they have produced original stories, concepts and even their new stars in house. Endorsers come from the same station, they take the high ground and prove worthy of products they believe in - converting to really believable people that the public agrees with. Just look at Jasmine Curtis and how the fans purchase the products she's been with and you'll understand the others.

TV5 also hosted the dinner on the first day of the Ad Summit last May 8. It was attended by 2,500 delegates from different entities in the Philippines. So just imagine how big the crowd was in the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center. Then MVP arrived.
