An Inspiring Story of Nilo Omillo from Vista Land

Thursday, May 22, 2014

We all have dreams. As Filipinos, we find ourselves all asking it up unto the heavens and hope that the one above answers it. A few days ago, we met a man named Nilo Omillio. He used to fish in his hometown Leyte in order to live by. He went to Manila at the very young age of 17 and didn't know how he'd put food on the table as education was not in his portfolio. He went on being a tricycle driver, a stevedore, a baker and a janitor. It was really hard and he was already thinking of giving up until a friend approached him and gave him an advise to become a real estate broker for Camella. He was then equipped, trained and given seminars to educate him about selling courtesy of the good folks from Vista Land. Then he went on to do sales activities and open subdivisions. He did this with the hope of selling a house. Then a couple more as the months go by. He decided to take the Real Estate Broker Licensure Exam in 1991 and sure enough... he passed!

The proud "Waray" then put up a humble office in Libertad, Pasay. With sheer determination and a small amount of money to run this joint, he became part of the esteemed top brokers of Camella in 1992. He also bagged the Young Top Awardee and the respect of his management and colleagues. Now, he's a very successful Real Estate Broker and his meager dream that came to reality was not forgotten. He has inspired people in and out of the company and with this, Vista Land President and Senator Manny Villar rewarded him with a brand new Mercedez Benz E series.

He also adds "These traits provide a benchmark to all employees of Vista Land. Whoever they are, where ever they come from, they too can reach Nilo’s success as long as they are willing to apply the twin virtues of hard work and determination- "Sipag at Tiyaga" in reaching their dreams." It's something that Mr. Villar isn't a stranger to. He also came from this predicament and I think he's paying forward. This kind of treatment, plus above average rates and incentives for sellers and brokers is but a normalcy in Vista Land and this is part of his dream. Nilo now has his own home, savings for his retirement, traveled to destinations here and around the world, sent his children to good schools, his own building constructed for his own personal business... the possibilities are limitless. This also goes with their vision of fulfilling every Filipinos dream of owning a home and uplifting the Filipino quality of life.

Watch how he did it on this video. This is so inspiring!

Filipino Slang Reaches WeChat Sticker Gallery!

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

Like whoa! I can't believe my eyes! It looks like we're in for a treat today as WeChat just started speaking our language! Oh yes! The fun in the Philippines never stops as Filipino slang finally reaches this social messaging app that we absolutely love! Now, you'll find the normal things people utter on the streets - spoken by ordinary Filipinos which you won't usually see on school, literature or find in books. The Filipino language is definitely evolving and it's turning out to be quite and adventure.

Just imagine our 7,107 islands. It's got about 175 recognized dialects that can be called in unison as "Filipino". Even as tourists, you'll have something in your sleeve as the Philippines also ingrained in its popular culture a distinctive form of communication known as "Filipino slang". You won’t find this category in books but you’ll hear the series of catchphrases on the streets, from local television shows to just about anywhere where the influences of media exist. It is very dynamic and changes from day to day. A combination of English and Tagalog,  to gay lingo, to street dweller terminologies, you would see something that you could use in everyday life.

As our language change and evolve, WeChat provides a very social mobile application that follows the color and hues of the Filipino vernacular. 16 fully new funny stickers that would imply the inventiveness of our writings and the immeasurable joyfulness of our innate humor. You won't find it anywhere but here. Get ready to put in your messages statements as “Bahala na si Batman!”,  “Boom!”, “Push mo yan!” and “Gorabels!”. One could never run out of fun quirky ways telling your friends, office mates and relatives something new every time you chat on one great social messaging application like WeChat. This set is currently available at WeChat’s Sticker Gallery which you can easily access by clicking on Me then go to the Sticker Gallery.

I can't wait to use these stickers on you guys! :)

Easy Shop Philippines: Online Shopping Made Easy

Nelson Liao CEO/President of EasyShop Online Inc. opens the show. Promises a new and easy way to shop online designed for the Asian market.

It was a great night to see the faces behind big businesses as new online marketplace EasyShop.ph just opened its doors to celebrate "Seller's Night" last Saturday at Greenhills in San Juan City. EasyShop.ph wanted this to be a beginning of a fruitful relationship and they've initiated to thank these merchants by giving away big prizes and tons of freebies that evening.

This is just the pre donning, but their site will be officially launched on the 15th of June this year. They promise to bring a perfect and safe platform for sellers and shoppers starting from ultra safe payment options making each transaction risk free. That's definitely a cause to celebrate and something both buyers and sellers would appreciate come launch date.

Nelson Liao adds "We have a long term relationship with phone companies and we have them have the app already pre installed on their units. These companies can sell a million smart phones in just a few months, this just means we can have a user base with the same amount and make it easy for them to shop with the latest models too. A unit could last a few years and even grow more. As for advertising, we are investing in Google ads, Facebook and other social media channels so you really get the best mileage out of our site. We also have partner companies that would put EasyShop.ph on their vehicles so you'll practically see us every where... all day!". He also says the ease of doing business in EasyShop is tantamount to the success of their business. This is the reason why their registration process for sellers can be done in just a few steps. Register your business, verify your email and post your items. Posting items though would require you to put in your bank details (as a seller because this is where your money goes) so it is very easy to open a business in EasyShop.ph. There's no limit in the items you could put in it and as of now they've got 2,000 sellers online already with 5,000 products in the site.

The difference between them and current online shops is that they have this full proof. Other sites only provide platform and leave the buyer and sellers to themselves when transacting. This makes it difficult and prone to scamming just like what he experienced years ago. They developed something that would make it safe for the buyers now as they are engaged in the transaction. They hold the amount until the buyer receives the item. They guarantee the payments too with the sellers. They are currently giving the transactions free right now to sellers until November this year. Until that month, they won't charge the regular 3% they usually do per transaction. Now that's a deal breaker right there!

Payment options available currently are Dragonpay, Paypal, banks like BPI, BDO, Metrobank and almost all popular banks in the Philippines. They are also connected with Bayad Centers which means you can literally pay on almost all 711 branches nationwide over the counter. Isn't that convenient? The site also discourages meetups which wastes time and money too.

Returns are also easy because buyers can freeze the amount of transaction if you see any reason your product doesn't work right or have any defects. Unless both parties agree, customers always have the option to return the item as accorded by EasyShop.ph guidelines. Buyers on the other hand would be able to get the transaction completed after 15 days, where both parties happy of course! See how much care they put into your safety?! That's just the tip of the iceberg, you just have to find out for yourselves how easy it is!

Expect also the Android and iOS apps to come out soon, perhaps together when they launch the site officially. EasyShop.ph has partnerships with Nelsoft Technology Inc. and PoziHongKong Technology Ltd. who are huge software development entities who host the website. Making sure your data is safe, all the time, every time! If you have questions, please feel free to check out their website (http://www.EasyShop.ph) and the channels below. You can also email them at info@EasyShop.ph or call (+632)354-5973.
