TV5's Rising Stars Philippines - QC Auditions Now Ongoing!

It's here! It's big and it's going to take the Philippines by storm! RisingStars Philippines, the country's biggest and grandest talent competition is now holding auditions all over the Philippines to find out who among the 100 Million strong Filipinos would be the ultimate singing superstar - and we were at the Quezon City auditions last Sunday at the Cinema Floor of Trinoma Mall (4th Floor), North of Edsa, in Quezon City.

RisingStars Philippines is also going to be televised on Kapatid Network TV5 from February 28 to May 3, 2015. They will also be holding auditions all throughout the country including far flung barangays so there's no excuse if you would like to be discovered in this competition. They also have released the RisingStars Philippines App that is available on the Google Play Store for free. Just choose the songs and you could already have your entry be included among thousands expected to join this through regional contests. Aside from that, you can also opt to join through their website RisingStars.ph if you want to do it through laptop or desktop computers right in the comforts of your home. Else, you can do it via these recording booths in major malls and landmarks nationwide.

Again, this specific one for Quezon City can be found on the 4th Floor of Trinoma Mall beside the cinemas. All these entries from Metro Manila will go through a series of screenings, then eliminations, then a semi-finals event. The top 7 semi-finalists will then have a live singing battle on February 1, 2015. If you get to be the top 2 there, you'll be seen on primetime telecast on its airing via TV5. The show by the way is going to be hosted by no other that OPM President himself, Mr. Ogie Alcasid together with the Philippines' very own Miss Universe Venus Raj. You will also be treated with stories and happenings in the back stage by Mico Aytona, so whatever they're going through during the competition, you'll see it like what reality shows are on TV5. It's going to be exciting, just bring out your secret Karaoke moves and who knows, you might win something big that could ultimately change your life. 

There's no reason why anyone in the Philippines wouldn't join RisingStars as it gets you to join them via so many channels in the RisingStars.ph arsenal. Public Advisory From Our Friends at Smart

Wondering why there's no signal on your phone lately? Why is there no Internet too? Are you near in some places where Pope Francis is celebrating mass in Manila? Well if you put two and two together, you probably know why. We got this notice from our friends from Smart and Sun Cellular.

"Public Advisory :

In compliance with government orders, Smart and Sun Cellular have temporarily suspended mobile phone services in parts of Metro Manila that His Holiness Pope Francis will hold his activities today. This includes the University of Santo Tomas (UST), the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park and other areas of Metro Manila. This is part of comprehensive efforts to ensure the safety of the Pope and the public."

So you should understand, this is for the security of his holiness. Bear with it for a few days. Let us pray that he's going to be safe while he's here and when he goes back to the Vatican.

Boardwalk's Fresh Start

Boardwalk just came out with their best collection yet during the Boardwalk Fresh Start event in Luxent Hotel in Quezon City. The social enterprise and retail giant has come out with lovely and cute shirts, colorful dresses and fashionable basics to start of what seems to be a better year for them already. I've been following them since they've been working with Asia's Most Influential Designer Avel Bacudio and seen how much they've been able to transform the brand into a savvy, classy yet very reachable by the general public because they believe that fashion should be for all. Aside from helping the community by helping them achieve their own businesses, they are also helping bright and promising designers in making them a part of the business model developed in the last 23 years.

They started off with some statement and couple shirts that can be worn both by teens in bright blue, hot pink colors and big graphics in the front. It fulfills the purpose of still being playful, happy and form fitting for those who just wants something attractive yet very simple to use everyday, or when you're going out with that special someone. Some of it can also be used for wedded couples if you would like to show off the ring right after the wedding.

Damian Lillard's "D LILLARD 1" for adidas

Sorry for going off tangent with the story this week after all those Pope Francis posts, but I've gotta say, I would love to have this new Damian Lillard shoe that I saw from adidas. The hard working player from Portland Trailblazers launched the D LILLARD 1 at the "Dame Love The Fans" event at the adidas village. Fans from all around the US were invited through their social media channels on this exclusive event.

“My entire life I’ve dreamed of having my own signature shoe. I’ve worked so hard throughout my basketball career and with the support of my family, teammates and fans I’ve been able to get to a point where I’m fortunate enough to achieve that dream.  Being in Portland and having such a great, close relationship with everyone at adidas and my fans really makes the shoe representative of who I am on and off the court” says Damian.

The shoe by the way is carrying thr Damian Lillard logo withi his initials DL fused together into a letter "O" which represents Oakland, Ogden (where he attended the university), and Oregon. He's also included "Fly Guyz" a name they donned for his close group and family. Robbie Fuller, adidas' Basketball  Design Director says "We were lucky to have been able to talk with him and include what he personally wants in his footwear. We delivered a shoe thay speaks to him as a player and as a person."

The D Lillard 1 is going to be launched at adidas stores in "Rip City" and "Purple" edition this February and is priced at Php 5695.00. Additional colors will also be released soon so watch out for that!
