BUM Black Summer: Jane Oineza

Sunday, March 01, 2015

Everybody loves her, including Jeron Teng (I had to say that!) but of course, she's a star not just because of her stint in PBB. She's a good daughter, she's worked hard on all her projects and is reaping the benefits of it today. BUM has created a line of clothes for her, and now she's back together with the other teen ambassadors for this seasons' best campaign called BUM Black Summer.

Jane wears anything comfortable, something strong, something feminine, but what made her stand out the last time when we met was the statement shirts that showed her personality. It tells people what she felt at that time, very simple but it gets the message across. Now, with the BUM  Black Summer collection, she shys away from the usual colorful palette and brings in an unexpected black in the mix. Even if there's pastel, neon, the black envelopes them together and covers the basics. Black also makes you look thinner in fact, I've tried that part!

Jane also played around with Nash during the shoot.

Then she also had her solo shots.

We sat down with Jane and asked her a couple of questions, about her projects and the things she likes from this campaign. Jane says "Go! Now I'm in NKNKK (Nasaan Ka Ng Kailangan Kita) every 3:15 PM and I've been working with Sponge Cola with a song which will be available next week perhaps. The song is entitled Move On and is part of Sponge Cola's "Thank You" Album. I am planning to also release album, but it is still in the planning stage, so nothing definite. I trust Star Magic a lot and whatever they give, I trust them fully. BUM people are so friendly and they take care of me a lot. For get togethers, they always support me and I'm so happy with that. I love their clothes because all of their clothes fit me nicely, no matter how much casual or regular days, I still use them.

With the projects that I have, I hope I can exceed their expectations. I'm trying my best and I'm giving my 101% in everything. I'm also happy to also get the chance to work with Jerome Ponce. Even though we only worked today, we know each other since we're in the same batch. I'm just lucky because we're comfortable and we trust each other so in every scene, we have no inhibitions and know what to do just by looking at each other. With Joshua and Loisa, we're totally okay in the set. We help each other out and we try to make the show better.

I think I have the bond and relationship to thank for with regards to the senior actors too so we jive, and that made everything easy. I think I also worked with some of them during Prinsesa ng Banyera and I've always looked forward to work with them all.

Thank you to BUM for their help also during the PBB days, also to my fans. I am so thankful for their efforts, big or small. I also love the sweaters, I love long sleeves and I've seen a lot of crop tops and my personal favorite is their tattered jeans. I have a lot of these so I'm so happy they got me to wear a lot. I even pick shirts from the men's line, I think they're cool and even on a photo shoot, that's where I get most of it because they often give me girly ones. I think other girls can do that too because they're equally nice.

She's also thankful she got to work with artists from the other station during this shoot. She's glad to have been able to work with BUM as well and they're always there whenever she needs help in gatherings and small parties with the fans. She hopes you get to see BUM Black Summer in stores and get one for yourself. BUM has a lot more inside the store that you would love. If it got Jane convinced to wear them all on her projects, you'll definitely look good on it too!

We've got more interviews and photos soon! Team Biguel! Nashies! Stay tuned!

BUM Black Summer: Ella Cruz

With their very successful campaigns in the past, BUM has been able to keep the lead in giving you street fashion fit for your age and taste. This time, they're making your summer even more brighter, but to the point that they're going to stay away from what made their mark in the industry. There's no reason why you should shy away from a basic color, there's no reason why you wouldn't like seeing them in your favorite teen stars, the loveliest people of this generation and they're wearing it with pride. This is BUM's Black Summer.

L-R BUM's Brightest Teen Ambassadors Bianca Umali, Miguel Tanfelix, Ella Cruz, Nash Aguas, Jane Oineza
I covered the shoot for these teen stars a few weeks back. I love the fact that in this brand, you never really think about networks anymore. They all have their own contribution, and they don't just wear BUM because they endorse it, but because they genuinely love the style, it's something that these teen stars would wear in a normal day. They even wear it on their shows instead of internationally designed clothes that they all could afford. This campaign screams individuality, going away from the norm and when you think the color black isn't good for summer, you might just have reasons in this BUM Black Summer Collection to change your mind.

Ella is so playful, free spirited and she's much like some friends you want to be with. The outdoors is her playground, but she never really fails to make us all love her. She's so humble and doesn't forget people, small things that like this short interview, she makes you comfortable and feel like a friend that you just haven't talked for a long time. She's a precious little gem, cute, dainty, like a well loved princess, she's one of a kind.

She likes colors. She likes being girly. She's adventurous and when she can, she goes on and experiments with colors and textures. Right now, she's part of the show Bagito and it was really a challenge for her. Portraying an older, more daring woman is pressuring, it she says it made her feel nervous but when they're expecting a level of acting that they need, she goes on and deliver.

"There's no joy playing my character, Vanessa would only smile twice in the program, one when they celebrated their anniversary, and when the kid wouldn't have to leave anymore. Vanessa is very hard to portray as it's not a teen role. If I need to choose what to wear for her in the BUM Black Summer collection, I'd choose the black pieces because that's what she is. She's got darkness, she's got so many secrets and there's a ton of difference between the old and new Vanessa. At first she thought Albie was a mistake, but she's learned a lot of lessons from him generally. As long as she gets a good role, even if it lines up with the same genre I would really accept it. As long as it's challenging, but really I still have some limitations.

Bum is so perfect for me. They're not really like any other brand. If you feel like wearing all black in one day, they have that inside the store. Now, they even have colorful ones, floral too, if you need something to play with like skirts and jumpsuits. I feel so free to move in it, especially the jumpsuits and the jeans. I like the rugged ones and skinny and it fits well on me. It's not too tight, it's just right. In the shoot, I like the gray sando and the pink crop top among all the things I wore today.

BUM Black Summer

BUM Black Summer

She was awesome during this shoot, she's got a ton of poses with her so the photographer didn't even had to tell her what to do most of the time. She was also a joy to interview, she's simple and looking forward to shoot more campaigns with BUM. This BUM Black Summer is starting really great, let me post more in a few hours about other teens that we have in this shoot.

Claire Delfin Media Presents: Luv U Pet

Saturday, February 28, 2015

We've met a really good bunch of people from LUV U PET, the new pet show that premiered last week on GMA News TV. At The Farm in BGC, we talked to the hosts Jamie Fournier, Lestre Zapanta and their producer Ms. Claire Delfin.

Ms. Claire is a seasoned broadcaster on GMA. You've probably seen her in different programs and news shows on the same channel. Now, she's ventured into something that is pretty close to her heart. This spurred from time she met Lestre Zapanta who's also known to be the Pinoy Dog Whisperer. Aside from having a very interesting life story, he's gone through a lot of things before he became who he is today. Jamie Fournier on the other hand is a DJ and I've seen her do some shows on Sundays in RJ. She's like a staple in my home because my Dad takes over the TV when they're playing 60's songs in that station. Ms. Claire told us they got her to put a balance on the show. Jamie provides that inquisitive regular pet lover point of view so the show won't turn behavioral science even if they'll delve into that too. By the way, this is primarily a pet show so they won't be just talking about cats and dogs. Some way, some how they'll also talk to people who have exotic ones as well.

Ms. Claire says "I'm the humble Producer of the show. We're very grateful for Nelson Canlas for organizing this, and The Farm for offering their place to hold this intimate event. This is Meg Penloza which is our Executive Producer, she's part of countless shows on GMA. Here's our Segment and Episode Producers RC Formales, Marielle who are also veteran producers in the same network. I'm very happy to also introduce to you Jamie Fornier and Lestre Zapanta. Lestre is the dog behavior expert and he's got a strong following in the Philippine dog and pet community. I think we still have a lot of things to improve as far as the perception goes in pet ownership and that is what I think we should address too. There is more to be a pet owner, which is why we made this.

We will be doing more features about all pets including Askals and Aspins. It's one year in the making, a long time where we sat down and made the concept. It was easy to produce but it was a little hard to find sponsors, more so for new producers like me who independently finance the show. We're glad that Pet Express joined us and they're going to have they're own segment on the show. We've also partnered with Francis M Clothing company, Chevrolet and other minor sponsors. I have other plans for more shows but I think the most abused segment of society is pets. It's still far from the ideal level of understanding, that there is a sense of responsibility for owning them. I've seen it myself and experienced it. I believe when you want to promote love, show and teach it, you should show the positive light of it when seen on TV so there would be positive reinforcement. It's not just those kids who get bitten when shown in news programs on TV. The other shows that we have are still there but this is going to be our first show to be aired on GMA News TV.

It's Lestre whom I saw in Brigada (a former show) about dog behavior interventions and the response of the public was a little overwhelming. There is a demand for information so he was the one we thought of when this materialized. It was supposed to be reporters together with him but we couldn't because of limitations in GMA News. Nelson helped me find a person to harmonize the show, to put some light, a different dynamic in the show. I'm a little revolutionary, so we found someone good for the show. Her credentials, her image, she's a teacher and it's a big thing to pull this off so we had to have her here rather than an already established celebrity.

There are 10 Million households who have pets, so you see the potential of the show. This is for them to understand more about our dogs, We just need someone to understand how we should practice it and have real people be trained, not just their pets. We try as much as possible to be encompassing in the variety of animals and we're showing more real soon. We're showing how to take care of pets and we'll present the information in our culture and setting so you're going to understand it easily."

Luv U Pet

"We'll incorporate the dogs that used to live on the streets to pure breeds and see how we can see how we are in a pinoy setting. I just had to intervene so they know how to read their dogs, to pull obedience on them. I learned this for years, I've learned this because I wasn't well off and because I had a broken family. Dogs behave as to what you want them to be, don't name your dogs that would be opposite their breed, temperament or persona. Unconsciously, they take the behavior as accorded by their name. The get spoiled, they bite people because the owners do it for them. I get bitten once a year too but it's not because of the dogs, but because of the owners reacting to their pets, that's where people usually get in trouble. They need to observe their pets and know when and how to stop them from misbehaving by properly leading. Some dogs behave on the first session, but what's really harder is to train the owners. That is the bigger problem. The moment they shift the way of interacting with the dog, that's where they change the memory. If you train them to do something and wait for it, the dogs would understand. There should also be more laws for the welfare of the pets as I know how hard their work sometimes. Just like you, I don't want to see my dogs suffer even on commercials. We'll discuss a lot of them on our show." Lestre Zapanta adds.

When asked if she gets overwhelmed by all of these, Jamie says "Not really, because I'm really learning as well. I have a dog and I've got a lot of things I learn from the show, and also learn a lot from Lestre. Exposure to him and how he treat his dogs, I'm being trained. He even told me that I'm the hard kind of person to train, that I have to bear with my own pet. I'm one of the pet owners who probably have dogs who would just bark when others would be just quiet on the side. I don't know how to do it with Chase (her dog) but by the end of it he says I'd be able to do it with my own dog." which seems quite promising.

Good thing there are companies like Pet Express, Francis M. Clothing Company, and other sponsors that would help them achieve this. Oh,before I forget, thanks to them I got to taste the burger over at The Farm (in BGC 4th Ave, which I think serves only purely organic food) and the yummy Belgian Chocolate cake of Honey Glaze Cake (09228279848/09209525166).

It's something new, something experimental but if you think about it, it all makes sense. This program will help countless pet owners around the country. It will make it easier for them to properly take care of their lovable cuddly furballs who are just as loved as family.

Here's their official music video!

Luv U Pet shows on GMA News TV (Channel 11) every Saturday from 4-4:30 PM. It's the only pet show on TV now, you better watch it!

Lee Min Ho for Kyo Chon Philippines

Friday, February 27, 2015

I love Korean Fried Chicken. It's the way they prepare it, the way they cook the chicken and the way they have their endorsers here in the Philippines. The brand is currently expanding aggressively in the country but has almost a 1000 stores in Korea. It looks like Pinoys are now being more adventurous when it comes to food, and they see us as a huge market. Basically, they're just giving us what we want!

They're already in the USA, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and USA. Kyo Chon wants us to have the healthiest fried chicken possible so they're using the freshest ingredients, healthy canola oil, and brush those wings, thighs, legs with their special sauce before frying to perfection, no rush so they get the full flavor. They don't use MSG too which is a good thing, if they're chickens taste good already without that, imagine how painstakingly they do it in the kitchen to make it this good.

I wasn't able to go to this event because of other commitments but I wasn't going to let this pass because as we know, Lee Min Ho is here! I got my Minoz friend to take photos of the event, so if you enjoy Kyo Chon's food, you'll even enjoy their endorser, right Oppa?!

I loved the part where he said he missed us and bid good evening to everyone in Filipino!

Then he had to say good bye, and he'll be returning soon!

Lee Min Ho will also be starring in Gangnam Blues that will be shown on theaters tagalized since Viva and SM has co produced its release here. Watch it in specialty Asian Theaters in major SM Malls come March. Aside from that, he'll still be endorsing a lot of products in the Philippines and perhaps we're all going to have a chance to meet him in a bigger gathering real soon. I hope the Minoz find this one exciting reason to go to Kyo Chon Restaurants in Metro Manila. Come and get the best Korean Fried Chicken which they warn is highly addictive.

Hope you also enjoyed the photos of Lee Min Ho while he's here in the Philippines. I'd like to credit the photos to my friend Karen, a full blooded Minoz who took the time to go to Greenhills and cover for me. She wants to stay anonymous I guess but really, THANK YOU!
