Make Your Own Havaianas 2015

Tuesday, May 05, 2015

When you saw this photo, did you feel a little old? Haha I know! It's the 10th year of Make Your Own Havaianas and their doing it in Hawaiian style this time at the Glorietta Activity Center. I've had a few pairs myself so if you're hoarding them at home, take them out and use them on the beach, the outdoors, or just about any place you go and take your Havaianas to.

Aside from the great music, they let us choose our own soles and match them with whatever straps we wanted for it. You can also personalize the thing by latching in lots of pins which you can put on the strap as well.

The pin choices this year are super cool too as they followed the theme, making it extra cool with the Hawaiian vibe. I liked the aloha, the coconut, the camera, the burger, the hotdog, coffee, beach bum, road trip and fish pins personally. They also made us a complimentary hand stamped pin because we were the first people to have it.

I love Havaianas! Thank you for having us to celebrate individuality once again. My pair will be put into good use I promise and if you're looking forward to get your pair, come to the Glorietta Activity Center and make your own pair. There's 12,000 combinations to choose from, you can make your own Havaianas from May 7-10. They'll be at 17 malls anyway so I'm sure there's one near you!

Mahalo! And cheers to making your own Havaianas this year! Thank you to Tasha who made my pair too!

Honor 6 Plus Out On May 7th

This just in. It looks like my favorite Android phone ever is coming out with another addition to their family. Say hello to the Honor 6 Plus. They've been making great phones with cameras these days and I'm still using my Honor 6 for that. They will still continue to do so with this one and they'll even match the front camera specs with it too, making this one of the few phones in the world to have an 8 Megapixel front and back camera. They'll be releasing this on May 7th in popular online shopping site Lazada. Lazada will be the exclusive seller of this phone all throughout that week before it comes out in stores come May 14, 2015. Prices start at Php 17,490.

People have been talking about this since December because of the supposed Dual Rear Camera (which they made a reality), Kirin 925 1.8GHz octa core processor, and 3GB RAM. Aside from that, the phone has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD 1920×1080 pixels display at 401 ppi so you can only expect even richer quality photos and videos when it comes out soon. This also has a Mali T628 MP4 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and capacity to carry a 64GB micro SD card so you won't really run out of space for those movies and music you want to enjoy all day. It's also dual sim, dual LTE, but of course it would be so nice to have you on Smart as that's the country's biggest network! It also runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS, and has got a 3,600mAh Lithium Ion battery that can last you the whole day or even more if you're not going to use that much draining apps too. Remember, you can get these gorgeous phones only on Lazada come May 7. Store release would be a week after, so if you want to get first dibs you know where to get it!

Happy Socks Now In The Philippines

We've covered the launch of Happy Socks a few days ago at Staple and Perk Bakery in Makati. The Swedish brand is just starting to get its feet wet into the Philippine market as they have only been available in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, South Korea, Sweden, UK, USA, Japan, India, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

Two sisters shopped for it too much in Hong Kong and felt that they should bring the brand to Philippine shores after they got fed up of the boring socks choices in the saturated Philippine market. I should know too because I'm pretty fond of these things that I only got to source them in one or two stores locally. Happy Socks also makes this different too because their main goal is to make everyday items like socks, boxers, underpants into colorful things that could spread happiness.

They also got us involved in spreading happiness too by enjoining us in #100HappyActs which is their cause that makes us attendees be like individual ambassadors of happiness through those small boxes you see on the left. Those boxes contain around 3 of their products which we had to give to different people to ultimately make them happy too. I already gave the baby tights to my favorite 2yo nephew who frequently visits me in the house. It fits him perfectly and the colors are just so bright that all my relatives fancied him even more when they saw him wearing it for the first time. There are actually two more socks left on the box that I plan to give to special people in my life. I'd like to share the happiness too you know.

The socks are very comfy too you know and it doesn't feel restricting at all. It was like freedom for the feet and I super love the available colors that they had. I was even drooling over the cases they had on display because I even wanted that for myself too, really really bad!

Now you don't have to go to other countries to get these sweet colorful socks, boxers, tights and other products from Happy Socks. They're available in all Urban Athletics stores nationwide, Urban Superior Store in Cebu, or www.dreamlablifestyle.com. This is definitely a necessity for every redefined man, I'd like to have more of this gawd!

Samsung Launches SE790C 34″ WQHD Curved Monitor in the Philippines

Okay, so Pacquiao lost that match with Floyd Mayweather. We got sad, really, really sad, but we sure had fun during the launch of Samsung's newest curved monitor the SE790C. They launched this during CES 2015 and Samsung just got us to experience it before we went inside the cinema for the MayPac fight. They have installed two games, one was for a race car driving simulator complete with an attached faux race car box using one monitor. This piece of beauty is 34 inches and holds a 21:9 ultra wide aspect ratio so you can see the whole stadium as if you're there.

Samsung executives described this as "Immersion" and adds "By providing angles you feel an immersion with your surroundings. You'll get a wider view and have reality served in front of your eyes. It's about the experience."

It's smaller than those curved TV screens, but of course, it's because this is a monitor and it's intended to be set in front of your face together with your tower/miniature PC. It was awesome to see the video become stretched like that, like it's real life, you can see things from an angle and that made everything like you're practically using 2 monitors without the borders in between. The video quality is also stunning.

Now imagine if you had this curved monitor doing a three monitor setup. You're going to get more space to see forms, artwork, graphic design, or even crazy games like these that give you stupendous views, like you're inside the cockpit without that much distortion. It's 3,440 x 1,440 pixels, so just imagine the amount of detail that you can still see in situations like these. The usual USB ports, HDMI ports are located at the back. Clean, simple, decent internal audio, all you need in a monitor today. There's also a 27 inch version of it, so you can choose. It retails around Php 44,000 for the 34 inch version. Please check out www.samsung.com for more details.
