Block Screening Pics Of "Para Sa Hopeless Romantic"

I was invited by a blogger friend Iyane of D'Sweetbox who's got friends from the fan clubs of JaDine. They were holding a block screening for their idols James Reid and Nadine Lustre who's starring in the film "Para Sa Hopeless Romantic" which is produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films. It's been a while since I've watched a Fillipino film and this was a treat so I went to the Robinsons Galleria leg and expected a bunch of teens running around crazy for these superb teen stars. I found them very accommodating and nice, going the mile of even having us led to our seats before the film started. The lines were CRAZY. Every one was in a festive and exciting mood because they'll see their idols on silver screen again based from the best selling book of Marcelo Santos III. He's a good chap by the way and we were just a few seats apart. I liked the book and I was somehow expecting the flow of the story to be quite similar in my head.

Direk Andoy Ranay must have really worked the screenplays to impose a lengthy read into a movie, because remember this could only last an hour or more. Aside from that, I had the notion of seeing James and Nadine again as most Star Cinema movies usually have their stars drop by events like these.

They were so nice during our last talk in the Viva Offices, I was really here to see the reactions of the fans seeing the whole story unfold before their eyes. I was right! They all liked it. It was said in a manner where the story didn't veer away from the book with some minor changes. Overall, the movie was really for kicks. Something that would remind you to believe in FOREVER again, if you forgot it along the way. Oh and you'll definitely like the LAST SCENE. I bet a lot would even do that in the next few years, haha!

Mobile Phone Brand Oppo Releases #OppoNewTrio

We got invited by one of the most promising brands of mobile phones and devices in the market that not only gives some of the best hardware that authentically performs well, but has got classy design and undeniable quality at an affordable price. It was staged at the posh Valkyrie, a very upscale club in BGC. Clad in gorgeous creations by renowned Filipino designers, they got three new phones released in one day. They are now catering to a wide audience and dubbed this as the new #OppoNewTrio. 

This is the Joy Plus by Oppo. It's comes in two colors, just white and blue. It's dimensions are 4.88 x 2.48 x 0.39 inches and weighs around 125 grams. It's very light, has got 4GB of memory and runs on Android Kitkat. It's also dual SIM, very simple interface and has got a very hard plasticky body. It can probably withstand a drop or more and work just fine by any measure. Since it's 4 inches, it's fits right in your pocket and deem really fit for ladies who just want something practical yet not shabby. It's got the usual ports, wifi BGN standards support and 3.15 megapixel camera with an LED flash. The card slot can accomodate a 32 GB memory card for all those files and music that you may need to fit in this small but high performance phone. It costs only Php 4,990 which is a steal in my books.

This one on the other hand is their Oppo Neo 5. This was released worldwide late last year and finally it has arrived in the Philippines. It's dimensions are 5.20 x 2.59 x 0.36 inches and still can fit easily in my pocket. I've used it for two days and I must say it's a pretty good secondary phone. It is very budget friendly at Php 8,990. A tad bigger than the Joy but the looks can pass as a guy's entry level phone. It runs on Jellybean and has got a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (me thinks?). The front camera is decent for selfies at 2MP and the primary has got 8MP. You also have the option to use it as a hotspot and if you're on SMART's unlimited data plan your friends can share on it too. Both phones have an FM radio so put it on full blast when needed. It also lasts quite a long time, perhaps a day of usage at least (mine lasted around 13 hours). So it's like a brother to the Joy although you're getting a bigger phone with a longer battery life. It's also got two colors I think, black and white.  

This is the Oppo R1X. It's exterior is like a gem glistening when struck by lighting. The superb classy exterior comes with a powerful machine inside of it too. It's got a 1.5 Snapdragon 615 Octa Core processor making the thing so fast and responsive. A bit bigger and wider because it's dimensions are 5.54 x 2.76 x 0.27 inches. When I held it in my hand, it felt like was made to fit mine. The super cool back part would really be a crowd pleaser since I haven't seen anything like it yet in other brands. That's definitely something that could stand out the most. It also runs on Android Kitkat and has got a 13MP rear and a 5MP front camera. It's dual sim too but this one can accommodate LTE lines if you need it. You really get cool things from their collection because you pay for it at Php 15,990. I like how it looks definitely. They're like high end Android, in this case and not those cheap ones that just conk out on you after a few months. They're seriously going to be an interesting challenger to existing ones in the market. If you want to be unique and design savvy, go with this one.

Congratulations to Oppo for launching 3 new phones at different price ranges in the market. I hope you get the sales you need to continue coming out with newer handsets. Style wise, the R1X is definitely a stunner!

Ella Cruz and Bret Jackson on Wattpad Presents: Hot and Cold

We're now here at the press conference of Hot and Cold, this coming week's episode in Wattpad. They've been really gambling in the combinations of actors and this time, wait to be charmed by Ella Cruz who skipped stables just for this show. She's also going to be paired with Viva and TV5 artist Bret Jackson who'll be like cat and dogs during this week's installment. 

This book is authored by Marielicious who's also here, consequently on the table beside me. She also did the big one entitled "The Magic In You" which starred Mark Neumann and Shaira Mae, TV5's premier teen love team. They're promising a good story without getting to fancy, realistic and something people can relate too. 

Bret plays a guy who's basically an @-hole and had a certain incident where they had to fight over a single book inside a bookstore. He felt he won over him but ended up getting beaten up by Ella's friends later on, forcing him to give her the book. During that time, Ella's character had simply grown fond of him, she found the little things he does to make that linking grow a bit more.

Ella has been loaned to TV5, but she's really happy to have had the chance to work with a teen segment because Wattpad produces some of the most romantic and heartwarming stories during this season. 

As for connections, I obviously have seen them very sweet during the press conference and the people from the production have been witness to how sweet they have become in the past few weeks. Bret even goes the mile and says that somehow, he's gone quite protective of Ella in the short span that they've worked together. He says "Ella is a ball of energy and you cam see how playful she is right now during this presscon, that's her in real life. I do have some movies coming up but I can't announce anything yet, but it's going to happen real soon." 

Ella also says "The first scene we ever shot was actually the final scene so we had to become comfortable with each other. When I looked into Bret's eyes I could see how nice it is, it's in a different color and he says it depends on his mood while I on the other hand had to use contact lenses. My character here is a little on the fancy side, maarte if that's a trait and of course I had to be really talktative so I could be fun with Bret's character. I tried and succeeded to make him laugh in all the scenes so I think we did a pretty good job." 

They also have branded this love team as BrElla/UmBrElla and you'll be seeing the sweet scenes on Wattpad Series Presents Hot and Cold by Marielicious on TV5 everyday at 9PM.

Philippine Launch of Honor 6 Plus, Honor 4X and Honor 4C

Finally we've seen the next generation phones that Honor has been keeping in their coffers. Today, May 12th 2015 we stood witness to the release of their new flagship device the HONOR 6 PLUS, the Honor 4X and Honor 4C. Niño Carandang, Honor's Unit Business Manager says "We're bringing three new smartphones to the local market and we're dedicating this to the young Filipino. The Honor brand stands by people who can make bold decisions and trust devices that have hig specifications, usable features and a very affordable price."

The Honor 6 Plus

It's a very nice handset that's got powerful processing speed. It's got some of the industry's best dual rear cameras and an aesthetic that simply says "BEST!". It's got a 5.5" size but 78.2% screen ratio. It's also one of the thinnest in its class at 2.8mm. Super vivid from any angle, this also has an HD screen at 1080p resolution at 403ppi. Aside from that, you get better resolution from Honor 6 Plus with its JDI IPS NEO Negative LCD Screen LTP Silicon, made to have 30% better resolution than ordinary IPS screens out there. You'll see those images super clean, clear and sharp! 

The phone has got 3rd generation Corning Gorilla Glass so you can expect three times stronger, tougher but more accurate navigational screens. If you check out the back cover, they use a bullet proof grade material and some parts are mad of fiberglass. Pretty tough cookie in all aspects of its design. 

The phone also uses an 8MP front facing camera and a panoramic portrait mode, so there's no reason why you and your friends won't fit in the frames when attempting groufies! Having the 3,600 mAh battery can get your phone last almost 2 days. They say it can even last longer on Ultra Power Saving Mode. It's also got a Kirin 925 octa core processor and 3 GB RAM and can kill the competition because most often than not, in this amount of power they'll probably cost twice as much!

For those who have two lines, the Honor 6 Plus has got Dual Card, Dual Usage abd Dual 4G ports so fast connections would be a norm. Now how can competitors beat that at this price point? You tell me.

The Honor 4X and 4C 

Aside from the best of class Honor 6 Plus, they also released new mid range priced devices. This is the Honor 4C and Honor 4C. The Honor 4X has got a 64 bit processor, a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera. It's also got Dual SIM, great battery life and 4G connectivity. This means we'll have 40% better performamce compared to other brands 32 bit handsets and donnes a 5.5 HD screen with 16 Million colors making all those photos and videos more life like, or even better! Battery wise, it can perform more by lasting up to almost 7 days in ultra power saving mode.

The Honor 4C is more of an entry level device. It's got 720p display, a 13 MP camera, a HiSilicon Kirin 620 SoC processor running on 1.2 GHz octa core cortex A53 CPU, 2GB RAM, an 8GB memory (and expandable 32GB capacity microSD slot) and uses Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. 

The Honor 6 Plus is pegged at Php 17,490.00, while the Honor 4X is Php 8,290.00. The Honor 4C is priced Php 6,390.00 and will all be released on May 12, 2015. It's on sale now on Lazada and  their outlet stores, go catch the wave!
