Mega Global: Enriching Filipino Lives, One Can at a Time

This June, a company committed to deliver relevant, up to date and quality products is celebrating their 40th year anniversary. You probably have one or more of their canned merchandise in your home right now but half awake thinking they actually were the ones to manufacture it. Mega Global Corporation, the one who makes Mega Sardines, Mega Creations, Valley Farm and Oh My Ulam! brand of products just struck ruby this 2015 and they're letting you know how much they appreciate your continued patronage of their food products which is distributed here and elsewhere in the world.

Mega Sardines is now in an easy open can. This means, when you go out and travel with the people you love, you don't have to bring a can opener to enjoy it. It's sweet as the sauce is made of ripe tomatoes. This is just one of the things Mega Global produces in their plant. They happen to have the means to can the fish within a 12 hour process. From the sea to the can, unbelievable right?

Mega Global also thought that you should enjoy other things aside from Sardines. They made other varieties like Mega Creations in Natural Oil and Spanish Style. The one in Natural Oil is light, perfect for filling hot bread. My personal favorite is Spanish style, being a person with Spanish lineage makes me naturally love things this hot. Confession, I had 2 cups of rice with it! Super good!

Keeping with the times, Mega Global also has Valley Farm which is a line of food products like luncheon meat. They have it in Tocino Style without making it expensive like the other brands we know. They also encourage to mix this up with other things so you can create other dishes, a feat that makes you decide countless things to make with a single can. See the possibilities? Exactly.

For the fast lifestyle, there's "Oh my Ulam!" which you can easily have with hot white rice. I can even imagine it now. Pork cutlets in adobo flavor, or lechon paksiw that's truly legit, you can even serve this breakfast, lunch or dinner and go away with it. There's no need for cooking too so you save precious time. I tried this the other day and I must say, it changed the way I look at canned food. It doesn't have to be expensive, it just have to be as special as this! 

You see, Mega Global doesn't just manufacture food products and can them... they actually change the way we see food getting preserved, served in meals and have the convenience of just opening a can instead of preparing the whole enchilada. It's convenient, it's fresh, and can save lives in tough times. Mega Global brings in quality that Filipinos here and abroad only deserve, and they've been doing it all these years. Hey look! International brands JBL and Harman/Kardon just opened up shop at the third floor of popular Fairview Terraces north of Metro Manila. It's a little far I know but I think this is designed to cater to the communities here because it's a growing market with the commercial and residential places here.

The place has got a pass through door so you can go around both stores with ease and check out the products of both brands as well. They also have a trade in and free calibration promo for JBL, AKG and Harman/Kardon products now. You can have them checked and prequalified of course before they do consider it for upgrades because it must be in working condition. Aside from that, they're also giving away tons of prizes via raffle promo. Every Php 3,000 worth of purchase gets you tickets so you can win 3 JBL Clips and 5 winners of JBL Limited Edition shirts, a Harman/Kardon Esquire for purchases done until May 31 only.

They still have discounts on selected items that are worthy for you to check out. I like the speakers and accessories of AKG too specifically the one that looks encased in glass and the wall mounted speakers. The monitors look so good as well.

Isabella, Robin Nievera, Paolo Valenciano and Karylle Padilla-Yuzon for Next Attraction at the Music Museum

I was surprised to see the kids of concert greats such as Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera/Pops Fernandez and Kuh Ledesma sitting at the press conference of their own concert called NEXT ATTRACTION happening this July 4, 2015. Isabella, Robin Nievera, Paolo Valenciano and Karylle Padilla-Yuzon will be taking over the stage to pay homage to their parents who have contributed greatly to the Philippine music industry.

Paolo Valenciano is directing this concert. Robin Nievera, Karylle Padilla and Isabella will be singing as usual but there's going to be some surprises in the performances. Paolo says "This is going to be different. The things I planned to actually do in other concerts that have not materialized, all the things I couldn't make possible will be done on this show. This is easier to direct because I'm working with friends so it's easy for them to approve my ideas and treatments. It's like we're just hanging out and the workflow's great!".

"We're going to pay tribute to our parents, I'm going to be singing songs that I grew up with. I'll also be singing a Martin and Pops song but I won't mention what it is so it's a surprise." says Robin Nievera.

"I'm also starting directing shows these past year and working on original songs for my next album. I'm also working on President Elpidio Quirino foundation since it's his 125th Birthday this year, so I'm doing a lot for that." adds Isabela.

"I hate the fact that they made me the "Ate" of the group, it's fun but our first meeting in Pao's house hanging out and we ate a lot. It was just like family, it's nice and we had a lot of ideas. It was just like talking to friends but made sure everything was in order. We did invite our parents to this show."says Karylle.

"I felt it's their time. I felt it's their turn. Aside from them being great performers, I've seen them grow. I love my son and he has to be nice to me. He's got talent fees and all, doesn't even want to have a discount. I'm producing this show but they have their own meetings. I know these kids and I love their parents, they're all doing their thing and they're finding their way in their own fields. Hopefully this would become a big thing for them. I hope the parents buy tickets, this is for the benefit of our children you know!" says concert queen Pops Fernandez.

Again, this concert will be held at the Music Museum on 4th of July. Show starts at 8PM so don't be late. Ticket prices are VIP 1: Php 3,851.25, VIP 2: Php 2,750.90 and for Patron: Php 1,650.50. It Takes Gutz To Be a Gutierrez Season 3

It's not easy to be a celebrity family. That's what I learned when I attended the press conference for the show "It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez" a few days ago at Cocoon Hotel in Quezon City. The Gutierrez Family comprised of hunky Richard Gutierrez, host and twin businessman Raymond Gutierrez,  beauty queen and celebrity mom Ruffa Gutierrez, super strict mom Annabelle Rama Gutierrez and former matinee idol Eddie Gutierrez, their lives are spent under a microscope again for their 4th season in this show. They had to reveal a lot of things that were pretty much very personal in the first few seasons but now that they've got that taken cared of, the 4th season presents issues about family relationships, a baby, a wife, and perhaps another wedding to happen this year. You'll also see a lot of Anabelle Rama Gutierrez fights which has always been the talk of Philippine press. We even got to see that ourselves during the presscon as Annabelle and Ruffa have really not yet patched up things between them. Ruffa said "It's difficult to be in a situation where you want to be happy and try out relationships but end up being gunned down by Mom, I'm so blessed to have a very supportive family. We do have our disagreements but I know deep inside my Mom only wants to care for me and my welfare that's why!". Annabelle suddenly grabs the other microphone and says to Ruffa "If you only follow my advices you won't end up making the wrong choices. If you only follow me, we won't really have problems or fights Ruffa!". says the matriarch.

"It is not the same if you have kids. Filipinos would love things introduced in this show by E! and it's going to get bigger!" adds Raymond. "We're very excited and very thankful that it's now not just going to be shown in Asia, finally we closed the deal with TFC! Now the people who wanted to see us in the middle east and in the US can now have us inside their homes worldwide because we're in ABSCBN's The Filipino Channel." says Richard Gutierrez.

For those who are asking, you won't be seeing it anymore in Youtube because they're going to show the first and second season on TFC, plus the new Third Season on E!, thanks to CPI, NBC Universal and their other partners that made this deal possible. All of these will start this June so for those who are on the channel, you'll see It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez Season 1 and 2. Later on, you'll also see Season 3 but it will be aired first on E!

I was also informed by Richard that they'll probably have tours all over the world because the show brings in a new platform, it's one of the reasons why they got invited to the Asian Film awards because they did the show. It's not going to be seen online anymore, well not unless you have the TFC package. You'll also see the show on The Lifestyle Network, one of the cable channels of ABSCBN too.

Annabelle and Ruffa were a bit emotional during the presscon. Annabelle hate scripts so they were kind of just bearing with each other since they had to promote the show. Ruffa cried because she got a little upset of the situation but hopes and knows that it will all be better soon. 

It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez will air on TFC this June and will start airing the third season this July. As they say, they have their own opinions, they are strong willed, but whatever they're going through, they are still a family. Make sure you subscribe to TFC if you're out of the country so you'll feel right at home seeing the Gutierrez's in their show!
