Yagit's Farewell and Thank You Party

Friday, July 24, 2015

Good things must come to an end. That's exactly what Yagit's run has been like and we've seen them grow from the time they had their final audition on GMA a few months ago. Now, they've delivered a story that has captured the lives of 4 different children, their families and the community... And ending tomorrow afternoon, sadly.

Just like you, I am wondering why the series had to end despite its high ratings as compared to the original one which lasted years. Though I am glad that it looks like they're not just ending this by saying goodbye, they're holding a "thank you" party for kids at the Research and Study Center for Children in Quezon City. The kids say that this is their way of giving back because you have supported them all throughout the show.

Jimwell Ventenilla aka Tomtom on the show says "Of course I'm going to be sad, but I'm happy to see that kids are experiencing what I did, they're not that different than me. This program has helped me financially, I've dreamed of this for a long time but I know I still have to go back. This is our way of saying thanks. They also helped us buy stuff for our home, I now have appliances that we even won in raffles, it's like it's not just the show, luck definitely came our way. I'll miss these guys for sure, but I'm looking forward to work with them again, and I hope that happens very soon. I grew up open minded and even if ends, there will be big things to see and look forward to."

They hosted around 60-70 kids and Yagit got their production to help all because they know they owe it to you, their loyal kapuso viewers. They played games, gave them gifts and some supplies for the RSCC. I could see the kids faces light up just seeing the cast of Yagit, as they probably have seen them in the show too. They also participated in the distribution of food, small gifts before they said thanks to them after the event. It was a good way to end the show, well, that's tomorrow so if you want to watch their final episode, it's on GMA's afternoon primetime. See Jocelyn, Tomtom, Ding and Elisa one last time as they end the show that will be replaced by new soap Buena Familia.

Citibankers Get 25% Off On Vikings

Citibank has been in the Philippines for years now and yes, they've been able to pioneer one of the most basic perks given by banks which is credit card services. It's their 25th year, and what better way to fully celebrate it but by giving you a fancy blowout through Vikings, one of the best buffet restaurant chains in the country. Aside from Vikings, they are the same people who have brought you NIU by Vikings, and recently the Four Seasons Hotpot City. Some of their participating restaurants/branches will get you 25% off if you go there in groups of 5.

Well that's not all, they've got the same groove happening in some of my favorite hotels in the country the Discovery Group. If you want a staycation in Discovery Primea, Discovery Shores Boracay and their other branches, they could give you 25% and perks in all of them, something that only Citibank can offer their clients on their 25th year!

There's more of this shown on this short video I made during the press conference.

Mr. Charles Lee of Vikings said "Never in their wildest dreams did they ever thought that a bank would actually partner with their brand and at a momentous occasion at that. Now you can get these perks in our Vikings buffet destinations like SM Jazz Mall Makati, SM Marikina, SM City BF Paranaque and SM Davao. This partnership will get us wider audiences so we could serve the best mouth watering food specially prepared by our international chefs in Vikings."

Their thrust for this anniversary is the Filipinos innate love for enjoying hearty meals with your loved ones hence the irresistible offer. Remember, this will only work if you pay with your Citibank Credit Cards and if you don't have one yet, please visit their banks or ask a Citi banker in malls and shops nationwide. They're not stopping there, because there are more travel and hotel perks too included in this year's celebration. They're also tapping different establishments so you know what you're getting into when you're with Citibank.

Making Candies at Made in Candy

Thursday, July 23, 2015

We had the chance to visit the Made In Candy branch in Glorietta 4 last Monday with my co-clingy blogger friends Earth from Earthlingorgeous.com and Rodel of NognogInTheCity.com. The mission was clear, we had to get our hands into one of the nicest things we dreamed of when we were kids, it's how to make candy. Made In Candy is a Singaporean brand founded in 2009. Just like the rest of us, they loved candies. This love for the sweet treats made them think of putting up a full blown candy kitchen so they could start making original, personalized, hand made candies and sell them off as treats for customers who want it. Their passion has steadfastly grown and with the influx of corporate clientele and those who just needed them for special occasions, they have put up several stores, then began branching all throughout Southeast Asia. Now, there are about 5 Made in Candy stores in the Philippines (Powerplant Rockwell, Alabang Town Center, SM Megamall, Glorietta 4, SM Mall of Asia) and probably set to grow more in the next few years.

Made in Candy offers ready made retail rock candies, but all are still handmade. If you want to opt for customized orders, just remember it would require them around 4 kilos, or it depends on the complexity of your design. They do this for gifts, souvenirs, keepsakes for weddings, or corporate promotions. You just have to choose the color, flavor, words or design that you want to put in on the rocks. Then choose your packaging if you want big ones or small jars. You can also observe how they make it live inside the store if you prefer, then schedule for pickup right after that. Now here's how Earth, Rodel and I made our candies at the Glorietta 4 branch.

Sweet things should always be shared to loved ones, so if you're yearning to buy one for yourself make sure you get one for the folks at home or your girl/boyfriends. If you're planning to have one customized, please call them at 8665624, 09209649076 or email them at philippines@madeincandy.com. You can also follow them on their social media channels Made in Candy, Philippines on Facebook, @MadeinCandyPH on Twitter, and MadeinCandyPH on Instagram and use the hashtag #madeincandyph if you're sharing shots on those channels. Or better yet, visit their shops as mentioned earlier as they have people who can assist you and help you decide about that perfect candy you'll serve to your guests whatever occasion that may be.

We had fun doing this during our short visit in their Glorietta 4 branch, consequently it also happened on Lollipop day so it was buy 1 take 1 on all Lollipops, isn't that great? Well, there are going to be more days to celebrate sweetness so make sure you follow their social media accounts so you can catch offers like that. Please buy an extra bottle or bag of candies for me while you're at it haha!
