Chynna, her Music and Lara Serena

Monday, July 27, 2015

I've already interviewed and met Chynna Ortaleza several times so I thought I already knew her. Her stint at The Rich Man's Daughter sort of have given us another side of her, which we all probably didn't know she's very well capable of. The other cast members did as much work as she did, and look at what their show now. Ratings have gone sky high, the amount of support they're getting is big, but are we just scratching the surface? I bet.

I've been to 70's Bistro, a long time ago in fact to watch my favorite bands perform, and perhaps see up and coming artists who are all trying to make it big in the scene. What I got from Chynna that evening was her extreme gusto to explore another world. She feels she also belongs to the indie scene and finds that it feeds her artistic hunger. I was even able to see Chynna watch bands from the audience and how she gets excited when we hear their music.

Oddly that it seems, this is much like a dream for her. When Darwin Hernandez and Kean Cipriano help her produce some of her work, everything just came into place. They named the band Lara Serena, which is Chynna's real name. Together with Chen Pangan on Lead guitar, Mat Rabena on rhythm , Z Mendioro on bassand KV Viloria on drums, Chynna took hold of the vocals and had their band formed during the last week of June. Friend and co-artist Glaiza De Castro also helped in some of her original tracks which they played during their first gig in Saguijo. This time, it was for the BabaePower tour which aims to hasten women empowerment, hence the great lineup with female vocalists and musicians.

Kenneth Paul Cruz and James Wright's Birthday

Sunday, July 26, 2015

Two good looking guys just had their birthdays celebrated at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo High School in Quezon City. It was a hot afternoon but Kenneth Paul Cruz and James Wright didn't mind because they're doing something worthy today. Instead of getting gifts, these two prefer to give back to the community by donating a mini library for the school. Aside from that, they promised an afternoon of fun and entertainment as these two talented gentlemen danced and sang their hearts out to the teen highschool students of CGEAHS.

Here are some excerpts of the event, just take a look at how much the students went wild when Kenneth and James went down the stage too!

Kenneth is going to have more projects with GMA, he says he'a going to surprise everyone when he appears in Healing Hearts later in the show. Healing Hearts is still showing on GMA so he's excited to see how people would react when he goes into the story. James Wright on the other hand is still doing singing engagements here and there, he's also still promoting his self titled album under GMA Records and it's still available in all major record bars and shops too.

To end the event, they had the teachers and the principal of the school on stage as symbolic recipients of the mini library. They thanked everyone who made it possible especially Aquabest, Zagu, Happy Haus Donuts, Erase Placenta, Ace Paint and GMA Artist Center who all chipped in so they could give the kids prizes, and some food and beverages for the teachers. They also had spa services for the teachers after the show.

Happy happy birthday Kenneth and James! Stay blessed!

Yagit's Farewell and Thank You Party

Good things must come to an end. That's exactly what Yagit's run has been like and we've seen them grow from the time they had their final audition on GMA a few months ago. Now, they've delivered a story that has captured the lives of 4 different children, their families and the community... And ending tomorrow afternoon, sadly.

Just like you, I am wondering why the series had to end despite its high ratings as compared to the original one which lasted years. Though I am glad that it looks like they're not just ending this by saying goodbye, they're holding a "thank you" party for kids at the Research and Study Center for Children in Quezon City. The kids say that this is their way of giving back because you have supported them all throughout the show.

Jimwell Ventenilla aka Tomtom on the show says "Of course I'm going to be sad, but I'm happy to see that kids are experiencing what I did, they're not that different than me. This program has helped me financially, I've dreamed of this for a long time but I know I still have to go back. This is our way of saying thanks. They also helped us buy stuff for our home, I now have appliances that we even won in raffles, it's like it's not just the show, luck definitely came our way. I'll miss these guys for sure, but I'm looking forward to work with them again, and I hope that happens very soon. I grew up open minded and even if ends, there will be big things to see and look forward to."

They hosted around 60-70 kids and Yagit got their production to help all because they know they owe it to you, their loyal kapuso viewers. They played games, gave them gifts and some supplies for the RSCC. I could see the kids faces light up just seeing the cast of Yagit, as they probably have seen them in the show too. They also participated in the distribution of food, small gifts before they said thanks to them after the event. It was a good way to end the show, well, that's tomorrow so if you want to watch their final episode, it's on GMA's afternoon primetime. See Jocelyn, Tomtom, Ding and Elisa one last time as they end the show that will be replaced by new soap Buena Familia.
