Stories of Hope Playwriting Competition and Campus Tour

I saw hope in the eyes behind Philippine playwrights when we attended Stories of Hope, an event organized by Pioneer insurance. They find value in an industry that has always stemmed their passion in the arts, whether visual, film, music and theater. This is their way of giving back, just like in the past when they sponsored, covered and promoted events such as Miss Saigon, The Little Mermaid, Noah, Magsimula Ka, Peter Pan, Bluebird of Happiness and PETA’s Rak of Aegis. Now, they're doing it with Tanghalang Pilipino which is the resident drama club of CCP. They have supported the recent 11th Virgin Labfest and now they're taking it to the people by having the top plays included in a campus tour and have it free of charge so students, ordinary Juans can watch these spectacles for free. Isn't that amazing?

It starts today September 1, in MIRIAM COLLEGE at Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City and I'm watching the show later as I'm writing this article. The next one will be on September 23 in the LYCEUM OF THE PHILIPPINES UNIVERSITY Intramuros, Manila. Then there will be other ones on September 30 at the UNIVERSITY OF SANTO TOMAS in España Blvd, Manila plus October 7 in UNIVERSITY OF MAKATI at West Rembo, Makati City and on October 13     DE LA SALLE-COLLEGE OF SAINT BENILDE in Taft Avenue, Manila. Now we're really talking!

Here's what transpired during the Virgin Labfest Awarding ceremonies when they announced the pieces that will be included in the Campus Tour. This is a dream come true with some of them who have been wishing to get in touch with the Filipino audience.

Pioneer also announced Pioneer Stories of Hope Playwriting Competition. They're inviting playwrights pieces in English, Filipino, or Taglish and ask to submit it from September 1 to November 6, 2015. It would be stories about resiliency and hopefulness, and they'll announce the winner on December 14, 2015. They'll have the chance to win a Php 25,000 cash prize and an insurance coverage from Pioneer. For the fine print, check out the mechanic.

Ella Cruz, AJ Muhlach for Wattpad Presents: Bebeng Pabebe Meets Super Jiro

Adventure awaits as TV5 unleashes another episode of Wattpad Presents this week. It's called Super Jiro and Bebeng Pabebe which stars Aj Mulach and the lovely viral dance video princess Ella Cruz. This is another installment of TV5's high rating show and perhaps this might be the first time we're seeing something "super heroish" in this show which would be a fresh thing to see in public TV.

Aj says "This is the first ever super hero themed Wattpad episode and I was able to try and work with a harness so it was really challenging to do this. I realized this was something new and I'm happy to be able to try new things in showbiz, something I'd never realize that I'd do on a normal day. I'm still not confident about my body but I hope ordinary people see that they too can be heroes just like Super Jiro."

Ella says "This is the gayest Wattpad episode ever and you'll see how funny the story is when it shows on Monday (today). Aside from my viral videos, I'll be coming out with a Twerk It Like Miley Pabebe version that people should watch out for in this episode. People might think it's the only thing that I do but it just happened to be the most watched, but I have more up my sleeve on my Youtube account that you'll like. There will also be more in the coming weeks and it's going to be different dances, people just loved watching the Twerking video more because it's popular. I'll be doing it in different shows too and this isn't just the only thing that I do, I hope some people don't judge me because it's the only thing they see."

"The real Pabebe Girls will also be appearing in the show and they'll be doing some scenes that will include being a bait for the super heroes made by villains of the show. Bebeng Pabebe will be also be grouped with them later on which you have got to see when you watch the show." says Zaldy Gumaru the show's director.

How To Make It Big in "Just Roll It"

If you haven't been playing yet, then you're missing a lot! If you've been winning quite a number of times in this game, what do you think is the secret? Is this calculated? Is this luck? What certain rules can you follow in order to have a successful run? We've played the game and think a few pointers can get you on the winning path because as complicated as it seems Just Roll It is very easy to understand and if you're ready this might be your lucky day.

Buy - If you're the first one to roll the die, then go ahead and make that count. Buying a piece of land takes you on a high point if you end up landing first on the board. That goes the same if you prefer the more galactic counterpart of it, buy planets. A property is also as good as its manager so if you can get those properties, build houses, hotels or colonies. The larger the structure is in a land, the bigger it is to rent out when somebody lands on your parcel of land. This can easily make your dreams of world domination faster, easier and economically sound.

Strategize - Device a few ways to get out of a sticky situation if you didn't get to buy enough resources at first. Remember to buy other players property if you can, but remember it'll cost more so make sure you don't go bankrupt in the beginning of the game. If you can't buy all the property, make sure you just purchase the one that can win you according to the rules. There's always a way, people win them by picking sides on the board and getting the properties whole line. It's not always luck! If you are playing this game via Team mode, always know how your partner plays before you decide a purchase would beneficial to you both.

Pawn - If you run out of money and don't have anything left, don't be shy to win back by pawing property. The game allows you to liquidate your assets by selling it to other players so you get cash in return. You can still pay off small rentals and continue the game but make sure you don't lose it, as it's pretty hard to win when you land on a high priced rental be it a hotel or colony! Swear! We've seen some players really lose money in the beginning and eventually win by just doing this. 

Watch Other Players - There are behavioral patterns and you can see how other players actually buy real estate, buildings or planets. If you see they don't care about the price that much, take note of that. If they're losing too much money, take note of that too and make sure the next time they do get incarcerated or trapped in some boxes, pounce on the opportunity so you could win that game!
