Jennylyn Mercado, Sam Milby for The Prenup

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

I was having a bad day but decided to go to SM Megamall for the premier night of The Prenup starring Jennylyn Mercado and Sam Milby. It's a comedy, drama, feel good film that would make you love Jennylyn and Melai Cantiveros all over again! I'm saying that because among all the characters, they had a pretty good run in cracking jokes, and funny lines. Aside from that, Sam Milby actually did good in countering Jennylyn's funny quips and romantic but near sexy dialogues so you're in for a lot of that too. Ella Cruz and Neil Coleta aren't just ordinary siblings, they're really going to give the needed spice to Jennylyn and Sam's relationship because their respective families will prove to be a little challenging, they don't get along at all from day 1. The conflicts will definitely affect their "forever" and the situation won't be conducive for a wedding. Jacklyn Jose, Freddie Webb, Gardo Verzosa, Dominic Ochoa won't be good friends, but they'll do anything to make Jennylyn and Sam happy. Will they end up together or not? Well I don't want to spoil things for you but really, it's worth the watch!

Here are some captures from last night's premier. There are also some artists, their friends and family that supported the movie. So enjoy and share this article with your friends please!

This is produced by Regal Films and if you're like me, take a break from work and watch this film! You won't be disappointed! I'd give this 8/10 because it's funny and made me change my mood so easily.

Lucho Ayala and Kris Bernal at the PETA staging of Noli at Fili Dekada Dos Mil

Monday, October 12, 2015

I bought a ticket to watch Lucho Ayala and Kris Bernal's play at the PETA Theater Noli at Fili Dekada Dos Mil because I wanted to support the two. I also was a little curious because they've been getting rave reviews online and it's actually been a while since I've last seen a play, a local one at that. (The last one was Shrek during their Manila run I think). It's a play to pay homage to the hero, set in the 2004 Infanta Quezon Landslide. You'll get to love the first part as they'll show you what veteran theater actors can do.

The theater is pretty small, but decent. The set is frugal, but it works since they didn't need a mansion in most of the scenes. Noli at Fili Dekada Dos Mil is a take on Jose Rizal's published books but it delved much on the Cory-Gloria period and how logging, corruption and the hunger for power was still prevalent in those times. It's written by Nicanor Tiongson. You could see each character personify the named individuals in the books but applied them to a certain decade where Philippine politics was still filthy, where good governance was an impossibility and death comes in usual occurrences when they need to do it. I'd be surprised if people won't notice how Lucho Ayala played the lead character Simoun Ibarra because in essence, even if I didn't like some of the parts of the story, you would come to learn and love his character and how he attacked being the hopeful politico he is. It is to be lauded, should be watched, I've never even wanted to go to these places but by this project, I enjoyed it a lot. They've got a few shows left for this month so you better purchase tickets online as the previous ones get sold out.

Then after the play, here's what shockingly happened!

Our Quezon City Blogventure!

Sunday, October 11, 2015

Quezon City's 75th Diamond Jubilee just had to be seen online and we're up to something good this weekend so we roamed the streets of this glorious city. We went to three different places yesterday with my fellow Team Suspects (Rodel, Earth and Ruth) plus a couple more bloggers (Angelyn and Marco Demo, Gracee, Iyane, Kat) so people could see the nice things the city has to offer. Here's a rundown of things we went to yesterday. ETON Centris, Bantayog ng mga Bayani and Banawe's Chinatown. Although I wasn't able to hop on to Chinatown, I was able to cover the Mardi Gras thingy in Tomas Morato which is equally spectacular!

See what I mean? Now this is just the tip of the iceberg, we're also going to watch a rock concert with Parokya Ni Edgar and Rocksteddy this 7PM at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. Best of all, it's FREE so just bring your friends and family. Come one, come all!
