A Festive Halloween with Philips

It's near and you'll have to make arrangements for that special Halloween celebration with your kids and family. Wondering how to do it without buying the usual stuff in the malls? That's easy if you've got Philips helping you to do it.

Freeze them for a couple of hours or so then chop them up so it could fit in the opening on the food processors top.Slowly add them in and blitz it for a couple of seconds, spike it with vodka and add a little sugar water, and you have the greatest fruit based punch ever made! I eyeball it most of the time and it's a hit with my friends and relatives. You can do without the vodka though if you would like it to be more healthy, but really, it's a Halloween party and who doesn't like booze right?

For some light snacks, you can buy of your supermarket's frozen section those kilograms worth of French Fries, brush them a little bit of canola oil. The healthier version would be just leaving them as is and putting them into the Philips Airfryer for 10 minutes. Flip it around and do another 10 minutes so you could do the other side. Just remember not to crowd the whole basket in it too much because you won't get that crispy texture on these fries even. Better fries have less oil, not too greasy and yes, cooked perfectly! I opt to put in less salt too so it won't hurt your kidneys.

What's Your Max's Story?

We were asked a couple of times a few nights ago about our Max's story. I was a little dumbfounded but learned that they've actually got a point. In my calculation, I have done about 12 weddings, with me as the ring bearer and coin bearer, dressed in silly old english outfits, because my Mom has 13 siblings, and I have about countless number of cousins who found me cute to do this deed in their wedding. Not to mention the press conferences, birthdays and special occasions we always do there. We all have our own Max's story, but during this event, we're celebrating Max's birthday. Yes ladies and gentlemen, Max's is celebrating their 70th year!

 From their humble beginnings as a go to place for expats in the 1940's and to a full time business in 1945, Max's has stayed a family owned business til now. They are also hiring people from the relatives of their original people and have continued to help other businesses grow. They also now own a huge hotel in Roces Avenue called Meranti Hotel. Here's a small video I made about the event.

Regine Velasquez Alcasid Shares Love for EB and Aldub

I was with a few entertainment press and bloggers earlier for the press conference of Ms. Regine Velasquez Alcasid as she continues to promote "Regine... at the Theater" which will happen in Solaire this November 6, 7, 20, 21 at 8PM. Her special guests include Aicelle Santos, Jonalyn Viray and Audie Gemora. Although when we asked, she said that Aicelle and Jonalyn will perform in separate dates whilst Audie will be singing on all of them and will constitute different songs in this concert not entirely concentrating with Theater songs. Although there will be songs paying homage to local and international theater acts, she'll still be singing a few expected songs that her fans will surely enjoy.

Part of the questions thrown at her by the press was about her Mom's fascination about Aldub and how she's totally okay with Paolo Ballesteros impersonating her.She says what Paolo is doing isn't something new as there have been several acts and people who have done it before, and she takes what he's doing very flattering and not something to frown about. 

Aside from that, she's very thankful about what Aldub has done for her Mother because the phenomenon has really kept her Mom happy. As you know it's not difficult to lose Mang Gerry (Regine's Dad) and Regine's mom gets very entertained by the pair whenever she sees them on TV or when Regine and her siblings got their Mom tickets to the Aldub Tamang Panahon event in Philippine Arena last weekend. Pay close attention to her statements on the video (almost last part) and see how thankful she also is to Ms. Malou who got her tickets to the show in spite of a sold out crowd. 

 By the way, for those who are also excited about Regine... at the Theater concert this November, they won't be selling tickets on the venue and will exclusively be doing it through www.smtickets.com and its outlets inside SM. It won't be available anywhere else so if you haven't bought tickets yet, now is the time to panic! LOL! Ms. Regine Velasquez Alcasid promises a couple of surprises that you'll love once you watch the show. Now that's super great!
