WARNING: The Addicting KUMORI Signature Cheese Tarts

Thursday, June 02, 2016

I've been eager to have a meal in KUMORI Japanese Bakery when they set up shop in the Ground Floor of The Block in SM North Edsa. They've been in the Philippines for quite some time now and they've managed to offer natural handmade fresh quality Japanese bread, cakes and pastries all throughout their existence. They've been using the finest ingredients from Japan so you're assured to only get that certain freshness you would get as if it's from a bakery off of that country.

I heard rumors about the KUMORI Signature Cheese Tarts. I know I have an affinity to it because of the fact that it is cheese, and secondly because it's a tart (as I am totally addicted to the fruit based ones from Tagaytay). Putting cheese on tarts had me dreaming and drooling while writing this, but darn it, the rumors are true. The KUMORI Signature Cheese Tarts are legit. I am not joking.

These came in a wonderfully designed box, but the things inside were more phenomenal. It's firm but still soft on the center, while the crust was crunchy and crumbly. I could feel how freshly baked this was but as with other tarts, I wanted it to be a little cold so I made the decision to keep it inside the fridge for a couple of hours. I tried so hard not to peek, I tried so hard to stop one of my hands to actually take it out of the box and have a bite. Believe me, it was so hard.

When it was already time, I looked at how perfect they got to make the small tart. The little caramelized blisters on top already had me thinking this was sweet but once I did bite into it, it was like clouds on top of a crunchy mountain. I love how the filling still tastes like cheese. It's that mix of saltiness and sweetness that is kinda addicting. I am telling you, once I had one.... I couldn't stop. So if you're thinking about just having a bite and tasting it, you won't even notice you've already finished a whole box. It was that good.

They have these lovely KUMORI Signature Cheese Tarts available at the Lower Ground Level of SM Makati, the Basement Level of Landmark Makati and on the Ground Floor of The Block at SM North EDSA. I think people kinda hoard this particular item on their bakery so if you're passing by, make sure to grab a box and take it home. Have some while you're inside the store too so you don't have to compete with that box you're taking away haha! Trust me on the tarts!

Mystery Basket from Greenwich Holds Cheesy Surprise!

Wednesday, June 01, 2016

This arrived on our doorstep a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering who was it from and why the pretty basket. It looks like I'm about to swing around Jellystone Park and roam around the bushes so I could eat something good. I think the last part of that statement is true. I love lasagna since I was a kid. As a matter of fact, I was strongly influenced by Garfield and how he literally just chow down boxes full of it in one go. I liked what I saw inside!

There were about 6 boxes full of lasagna by our lovely friends from Greenwich. Did you know that I always order this inside their store in Heart Center when I am in that area? Mom orders the thin crust Overload Hawaiian while my Dad and I love this most. Why? Because it's piping hot, great with the garlic sticks and it's so darn cheesy. Let's face it, when there's not much cheese on a dish like lasagna, it's not worth it. Greenwich does it like a pro and I love their version. It's got the meaty layer, the pasta done right and the Bechamel Sauce + cheese just oozes out on all the sides like it's Christmas!

If that was good, they just made it even better by making a version with Cheese on Cheese on Cheese. This is #OMCheese, the next level version Lasagna Supreme. It's the better, lovelier, cheesier version of your favorite lasagna from Greenwich. Now you people who are still trying to copy the original Greenwich Lasagna must keep up, I bet it's easier for you to actually buy the actual one inside the store rather than battling it out in the kitchen. I know, I felt that too when I attempted haha!

So go easy on your kitchen wars and order a couple of boxes of these lovely layers of Lasagna Supreme. Make the trip to the nearest Greenwich branch or make that call to 55555 and tell them you want one of those lovely Lasagna Supreme boxes like I do. Visit http://www.greenwichdelivery.com/ and check out the other things on their menu aside from the Lasagna, I assure you it's gonna be worth it! It's meaty, creamy and extra cheesy!

Coleen Garcia for Love Me Tomorrow

The success of the movie has been evident but Coleen Garcia was just so happy about the box office performance of Love Me Tomorrow. Her favorite scene she says was "The reconciliation with Dawn's character because I could feel how good of a mother she is. During our thanksgiving dinner, I really talked to Ms. Dawn and she said to me that she also wished to have a daughter like me. That's really touching when she said that and I'd like it because I see how she cares for her children too. I am excited for the new film I'm doing, it's going to be a comedy action flick but is still in the works."

They also announced that it's near 100 Million, and wishes that the rains would stop because it's a thing that may have probably hampered it to increase audiences.

"A lot of my friends are like Janine, I used to go out a lot and go out a lot, but when I started living alone I became more aware. I think it's just a stage, I'm in between a millenial and a Tita. I'm in the phase of Piolo. Ms. Dawn could only be the person to actually do this, she stays classy and still looks younger."

"When I left showtime, I felt I lost a family but when I started working with Star Cinema I felt like I've earned another one."

We learned also that when she accepted the role, she was already thankful because she was going to work with Piolo and Dawn. The experience of being there was already good for her even without a script. She added Billy haven't watched it yet, because he was also making another film. He just ran there early just to give her a bouquet of flowers. Isn't that sweet?

Coleen also said how much she's treasured the chance to work with Piolo and Ms. Dawn because getting to know them in a personal level was unbelievable. "I didn't know Piolo was really crazy, a little childish, but would be someone that she would want to keep a lasting friendship with while Ms. Dawn was a different connection, motherly, one that you can count on and tell your problems with. The experience with showtime is it really helped me to not worry about my inhibitions. I'm really trying to concentrate on the good things that are happening to me, but I'll be there, I already went there and guested twice!"

Love Me Tomorrow is still showing on 150 theaters nationwide! Watch it please!
