I know I've seen the Chef somewhere before, also the owner Mr. Bryan Tiu when they did the event for the 4th Anniversary of WAFU, the great Japanese restaurant in Greenhills, San Juan. I think it was when they opened the Ichiba Japanese Market in Resorts World Manila. I've already dined and reviewed WAFU a couple of years ago, and I do eat here every now and then with my folks whenever we go to Greenhills to shop. It's a bit difficult to commute here but thanks to UBER that it takes me just a few minutes to get the shopping center and walk a couple of meters to this 2 story stand alone building right across the Music Museum.
I've reviewed WAFU in the past and I don't think they've really changed that much as far as the interiors go. The Japanese look goes all throughout the place, plus the designer lotus creation on the main dining hall still looks absolutely gorgeous after all these years.
The second floor houses the Teppanyaki stations, one that we included in the specials a couple of years back. They're still good at it and is available on reservations. They're doing buffets too so if you're going to Greenhills on weekends, it'll be waaaay better. Come walk in or call in advanced, they can accommodate. If you're worried about freshness, don't fret. They've got the seafood alive, most of their ingredients are flown in from Japan too so you get the best things from Tsukiji market (I think) when you dine in WAFU.

They also have really big scallops, baked with cheese on top and put in the salamander to melt.
This is my favorite, although not that presentable here, the steak is soft, and the foie gras on top was just HEAVENLY
Tuna made like this with sweet and nutty sauce (perhaps from Sesame oil) was just so good. It felt like I was eating pork but this is meat from the sea.
Super fresh sashimi in this (cold platter) was just sweet tasting. Dip it in your favorite Kikkoman soy sauce and you would forget your name. It consists of Tuna, Hmachi, Salmon, Uni, Grouper, Aji, and Black Tiger Prawn.
I have allergies, but I can't help it. I had this Crab Miso Soup, really good to warm you up. Felt fuzzy afterwards.
I think this is Chicken Karaage. Salt and Lemon was just enough to make it special.
This is their Tempura Platter, I love the Shira Uo or Japanese achovy the most. Not too oily either.
The rolls are part of the Makimono Platter. It's got California Roll, Spicy Salmon, Futo Maki, all lovely.
You might think this is funny, but this is all Vegetable. It's made of carrots, pumpkin, beans and chayote. It looks fancy, but tasted like Pakbet without the fishy flavor. Might get the kids to eat their veggies when it looks like this!
Cleanse the palate and feel healthy before going home with this fruit platter.
WAFU is also doing special promos starting from the 999 Teppanyaki All You Can. Watch Chef's whip out your favorite food right on the steel plate grill and eat to your heart's desire only for that price. They also have the 888 Ala Carte Buffet which includes an Eat All You Can Tempura, salad, miso soup, and their rolls. WAFU Happy Hour also starts from 5PM to 8PM daily, for Php 550 you can have Yakitori, Sashimi and Rolls, plus the overflowing Draft Beer and Japanese Sake. Looks like the fans of UPGRADE are in for a treat. The up and coming boy band had their hopes up since last year and from the looks of it, there's no where else to go but up! They've been signed up with the prime label Star Music and the website that streams digital concerts and launches Filipino talents worldwide OneMusic.PH. One can only expect that in the near future, they won't be just solely doing covers, but their own songs too, OPM and all.
In a gathering of their stern fans and supporters at Congo Grille in Tomas Morato Quezon City, teen stars Upgrade performed some of their new singles. They have just concluded their 1st successful concert at the Music Museum last December. They also performed in the recent concert of Queen Mother Karla Estrada, appeared in several shows in various channels to promote the band so they could get acquainted with tweens, teens and millenials - their intended market. They're ready, they declare this is their time. They mentioned how much they've enjoyed last year as they've been able to somehow penetrate showbiz even a little. The album will have 5 songs, 3 danceable songs and 2 ballads. They're more into upbeat songs that are fast and relateable. They also have love songs included so don't be surprised if you get to see them swooning girls every now and then. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of their group yet and this is the first time that I've actually seen them in the flesh. I was actually expecting they're going to be just another run of the mill boy band, but judging from how passionate they are in dance, how spirited they are as singers and performers, I wouldn't be surprised they'll be going a long way in this industry. I could also see how they'll be individually become artists too as they have their own thing going. One of them actually writes songs, they're also matinee idol material and if ever things don't work out with this group they'd make great artists as is. Although from the looks of it, they'll stay together for a long time. They've also been through a lot, the strict auditions, trouble in creative processes, the fights in between, they're like ordinary people like you and me but they're still together. I hope this is just the beginning and perhaps, they would be able to make their dreams come true as performers, as UPGRADE.

It's impressive to see Harman Kardon-JBL expand really fast in just a few months. We've witnessed to see them open several stores successfully and with the advent of the great new audio, video and portable devices in the market, they make the Filipinos capability to purchase world class brands quite easy with their presence here. It's a tall order, but someone's got to do it. This June 8 at 7pm, be one with the whole nation as team Gilas Pilipinas battles it out with team Iran in our road to glory for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Getting this goal would eventually secure us with a slot to the Rio Olympics. They're already doing the legwork now as most of our Gilas players and Andre Blache undergo strict world class training under Coach Baldwin who made us take those necessary steps to become one of the strongest teams in Asia!
Road To Glory will officially happen on Junr 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and will be televised live on the happiest network in the country TV5. We're one of the few teams that are up to be able to beat Iran as it was earlier proven possible in the FIBA Asia Championships. That close game, was certainly not the story they were actually expecting because in a nutshell, IRAN has ranked higher in the world and has been consistently playing in the Olympics for quite some time. If we've been able to give them a scary Finals round even if we're not in our own turf, that's going to be another story this time around. The Olympic Qualifying Tournaments will be happening in our own land, which means Gilas Pilipinas will have one more advantage, the Filipino people and the heart of a country that's stronger because it all happens right here in our turf. It gives the Philippines no space to prove itself, but a moment to be proud, be the 6th man and conquer even BIGGER opponents that we have ever met to get to Brazil.
There will also be tune up games versus Turkey come July 1 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Turkey along with other countries like Canada, Senegal, France and New Zealand will be here for the games abd we'll be expecting more world class games happening in the next few weeks.
