The Greatest Love

Thursday, September 01, 2016

Crazy but I thought this show was shelved already because they've already done the grand presscon a few weeks back but didn't materialize til now. This September 5, you'll get to see the much awaited "The Greatest Love" starring veteran actress Ms. Sylvia Sanchez who plays Gloria, a mother that only wishes to have a happy family. Sound simple? Not quite, as the story will intertwine with the relationships of her children. Amanda (Dimples Romana), Andrei (Matt Evans), Paeng (Arron Villaflor), Lizelle (Andi Eigenmann) and her grandson Z (Joshua Garcia) will be part of that and the cast is excited about it.

Ms. Sylvia Sanchez says "Now that I have a show, I felt so thankful because I only know Sharon Cuneta songs, but I also fell in love with the character of Gloria. It's about a mother, the ones that would block a bullet for you, we all can super relate. We just had a scene with Aaron Villaflor where we had to stop him because he did vices, the exact dialogue, the exact moment, it was something that I personally experienced. After 27 years, I honestly just want to play support roles but this was really just given to me by God so I just have to accept."

"Every role I do is a new challenge, even if it's a mother role I have a larger responsibility to Gloria and I had to fix it because it is the mother's story. I am a mother in other projects, but the one that Gloria plays is for the lead and I wasn't able to detach from it because I always took it home. Thank God I was able to learn about that. I loved my Mom even more because of this and it's because I learned a lot. My Mom became a little close to this state and later on I might be in that state too, so I understand even more. We didn't get to show it yet but we were taping already so the pressure was even more. I wanted it to be shown on Mother Mary's birthday."

"These kids are crazy, we all eat together, they are all so nice and it's a happy set that you want to do work everyday. We all know we're actors and we would want to highlight a fellow actor's scene if we need to. I'm glad even my sons promote the show and they're even more excited than me. The story also discusses the fears of a Mom with a gay kid, she accepts him but still have fears and you'll see that. I love gays but I did fear about having a son or daughter that is gay, having them be alone when they grow old, things like that."

Joshua has a lot of promise, he's very willing and eager to learn and that's something good. He connects when we want to, a little shy maybe but I reach out to him a lot because we have a lot of scenes. He now opens up and he's very promising as an actor even if he's so young.

I did gay roles in the past, I was afraid of it because it's heavy drama. They want me to do this and I prepared for it. I still have a lot of work to do. I became more transparent, I was able to become more understanding with my Mom and break down walls. It's different with my family and my problems with my Mom.

Dimples Romana arrived a bit later. She said "My Mom was very open with us and after being a part of this, I felt different in this show because sometimes we forget that our family is just here waiting for us. It's just a surprise sometimes in our scenes, we don't even know how hard it is until you see them on the set later on in the day. Amanda is even a bit mad, it scares me in a good way and I hope that's exactly how people will feel. I personally don't know if I'd even connect my own experiences but I hope the scenes would touch a lot of people.

The production said the reason why it was shown this late is because they realize they had to add more revisions in story telling. The goal was to add another feel, a different flavor in story telling that's why we had some delays. It's also management's call to put it in the afternoon slot, but it's a good venue and time to tell a good story. It's the new prime.

CONTOURS Body Design Studio's LASERFIT Works!

Okay ladies and germs. This one is a bit personal.

I am FAT. I'm proud that I have worked on this body so hard that from a tiny winy skinny boy from way back to now a big guy that's clinically obese type 2 if that's on record. You think all those days of blogging about food and attending numerous events won't catch up, but it does. What's miserable is that it came to a point where I was already having a hard time tying my shoe because my cute little stomach area is already huge. Oh yes and the infamous double chin is showing already no matter how hard I try to hide it via all the photographer known poses known to man.

I never fat shamed myself or anyone for that matter, but once that it does get a little uncomfortable to breathe or move... I thought I had to do something before I'd consider diet and gym. Think of it as a jump start, something that would make myself at least capable of comfortably doing the things I used to do and start moving again and become a more "normal" me. It's not bad to be fat don't get me wrong, but my gut was just in the way when I tried working out and to tell you honestly I wasn't doing much progress aside from profuse sweating.

I'm afraid of going under the knife so one of the nicest things I've tried recently is called LASERFIT. This is one of Contours Advanced Face and Body Sculpting Institute's non surgical treatments and I gave it a try last month. I wasn't in the best physical form to begin with and the process pretty much has three phases. If your goal is weight loss, you will be advised to get a low carb and calorie diet. Aside from that, you will have to work out right after the treatment. Aside from the actual 10 minute workout video, I also went to my gym and used my gym membership to good use. I've only been paying for it for a couple of months even when I wasn't going to the gym. It really takes discipline to get something out of this.

The whole LASERFIT process depends on this contraption. It's a machine that introduces a "cold laser" designed to melt fat. Now I am a skeptic and I don't really believe in things like these especially when they use "light" to do it. I have undergone about 8 sessions which I religiously had done in a span of 4 weeks. I had to go back to the clinic twice a week (which is the recommended way to do this) and tried to do the workout they have designed after the treatment.

Now I don't want you to get grossed out so I'm not going to post anything nude with me on the frame. Let's just say that my waistline is so huge that I often only get sizes in Surplus and foreign shops because  I don't have that Asian body type. I'm a little Hispanic, hence the larger built. I needed to do this for myself because I want to jump start my workout and lose a few inches before I do it. The treatment only takes around 40 minutes each side (front and back) so it would take you around 1 hour and 20 minutes to finish the session. After that, you have to do the workout indicated on the video below which would take you 10 minutes. Sounds easy? NO. It's hard as hell. For a person who's a little on the heavy side like me, it was so difficult to do it on the first few days. I was dreading the part of the burpees, and when I posted it on Facebook for my friends to see, I saw a LOT of them having a hard time with it too. That made me realize that it was normal and I had to do it again at home so I wouldn't be having a hard time when I do it after the sessions.

Here's the workout video:

After this workout, you MUST remember to hydrate. Drink a glass of water or two, or bring your own bottle for convenience. I needed to breathe after this 10 minute intense exercise and I'm sure you will have to do that too. Rest and freshen up before you go out of Contours. They have shower and comfort room facilities so you can change if you plan to go somewhere else. My gym was actually just a floor down so I would always just go out and run, lift weights some more.

The Verdict

Again, I'm a skeptic and I don't believe light could actually melt fat. But oh boy, I was wrong. In the second week, I already saw a huge difference in my tummy area. I concentrated the machine more on that because I wanted to lose my beer belly (even though I don't drink that much). That pouch has been troubling me tying my shoes, or just moving fast when I need to but now I don't even have to exert that much effort which is totally tops. My clothes fit quite well and just a few weeks ago I already bought my first pair of pants after the procedure. Let's just say I bought a FULL SIZE lower than what I usually buy at department stores. I went back a week after my sessions and had them measure me again. I lost about 3.5 inches in my whole body which is a remarkable amount already. I've also been gaining muscle because I've been lifting weights in the gym again. The great thing is, my friends and family do notice that my stomach area is a lot smaller than it used to. My shirts fit better, my pants is a size smaller, how can I not be happy right?

I'd like to thank the people over at Contours Advanced Face and Body Sculpting Institute. Over the span of 4 weeks, they have been steadfastly following me up so I don't miss any appointments. They have also helped me during the hard days of working out in their private gym, made sure that if I needed help they're always there to attend to me.

I lost a huge part of my beer belly, I don't even miss it one bit. I think this NON SURGICAL PROCEDURE would be VERY GOOD for men who would want to lose a couple of inches before they get married, or perhaps just about anyone who would want to fit in those clothes you've been keeping in the closet for along time, YES, those clothes that you wished you would fit again if you lost the weight (which probably didn't happen). Getting it done in Contours is a choice but what I can assure you is that LASERFIT in their center works. Honestly I wouldn't even have believed cold laser actually works, but it did. You may go ahead and call them at (02) 6354984. Contours Body Design Studio is located at the 5th Floor Building B of SM Megamall. You can also email them at consult@contours.com.ph for inquiries of treatments and their corresponding prices.

James Reid, Nadine Lustre, Cast Photos from the Till I Met You Press Conference

Wednesday, August 31, 2016

It's so successful that I felt we really didn't have to tell people to watch it. Nor did we felt that we had to even say that the premise of the story would work. It's new, it's a gamble, but I think judging from the ratings last Monday, it really paid off. I'm talking about TIMY, Till I Met You, the new James Reid and Nadine Lustre starrer made by Dreamscape and ABSCBN.

I watched it at home and I personally loved it. I'm sure a thousand more did too. Anyway, I'm here to add more excitement by bringing you MORE photos from the press conference that happened a few days ago. Thanks to ABSCBN Corporate Communications for inviting us in the event! Aside from James and Nadine, we had JC, Zoren and Carmina, Pokwang, Angel Aquino too. Enjoy!

May I request something? If you are going to post this on your social network channels, please tag me? Or credit KUMAGCOW.COM? Thank you! :)

James Reid, Nadine Lustre and JC Santos for Till I Met You

Sunday, August 28, 2016

Would you risk everything for LOVE?

That's what people think is easy, but really, it's not. This offering of Dreamscape and ABSCBN will make you think of the consequences when Team Real James Reid and Nadine Lustre fall in love in this story with JC Santos and the dreamy Mykonos, Athens, Santorini in Greece this August.

At first, Nadine's character Iris fell in love with her childhood sweetheart Ali (played by JC Santos). Basti (played by James Reid) was a tour guid in Greece and when they got together, he fell in love with Iris, and so did she. It'll be a test of friendship, the strength of relationships, and love.

I'm not in Greece because I'm in Manila doing business. I have a restaurant and may not be in the Greece shoot. -Pokwang

I don't have he budget to go to Greece, I have lots of friends who are part of that shoot.  We appreciate scenes with them, even if they don't have sleep they always sense they want to fight. My birthday was there, in Abu Dhabi, they also gave me cakes in the airplane and they sang for me, when I arrived in Manila my twins were there. Angel helped us with medicines because Zoren got sick.  -Carmina Villaroel

The story started in friendship, the three of them including an LGBT, but they have to choose whether friends or family. They have chemistry right from the start but these are different characters. They were excited getting to know them because they are new. OTWOL is playful, there are flavors of it that we took here but a bit leveled up. We just added more stories of family and friendship. You will definitely see kissing scenes. The 4 cast members are already set, but the friendships have been complicated from day 1. They laugh even off screen so it was easy to see their rapport. It was super nice in Greece, I wanted to see people get that wow factor because the day effect is long. I had to make do with a skeleton crew. That experience is treasured, everyone helped a lot! The challenges was just more on language, they do speak english but there are terms where we had to fix. We did guerilla shoots, we had to do what we had to do. Ali has been there from the start, we didn't know how to do it at first but on the first taping day he was able to do it. I had to make him look like a bestfriend that would feel like a threat to an already exisiting love team.  -Antonette Jadaone

We'll see, the relationships that we have here are more matured. It's the chemistry of the three friends that are interesting. Since mu break, I don't have time to go out anymore. It's all work. I feel the Greek mythology, there's magic there because of the history. I think one memorable scene is he first meeting at Athens airport. You'll love that. Friendship is something worldly. We're lucky we were doing this for work, but we've been like this for almost everyday.  -James Reid

I don't want to spill details, but there will be some interesting things that will happen in the story. We personally know each other really well, so I don't think we have secrets from each other. I really wanted to go there, the food was awesome and it was on my bucketlist. Make sure you see the Santorini shots because that's where Iris is going to change. In Mykonos, there will be a surprise so you have to watch tomorrow. It's super happy with Direk Andoy too, we bond with him a lot. We didn't know OTWOL would be that successful but the same feeling is there. I like the friendship, family and love involved in this show. We are like bestfriends, we started like that and it just happened to end up perfectly. -Nadine Lustre

Carmina says "JaDine is different from other love teams but these two are so thrilled and thankful, I watched the kissing scenes and they are super famous but super humble and dedicated to their craft, they deserve their success right now.

Pokwang adds "It's my first time working with them but they are the ones excited to work with Pokwang, they laugh at me a lot and they are human. I like making their workplace stress free."

Angel Aquino says "I'm very happy to be with my OTWOL idols, they are great people and the magic of JaDine is different because they are real."

I was having a hard time during a scene in Mykonos. I can't spill the details, but it's life changing. -Jc

The show also stars Carmina Villaroel, Zoren Legaspi, Angel Aquino, Pokwang, Kim Molina, Robert Seña, Richard Yap and Jay Manalo. This is also Directed by Antonette Jadaone. It will be shown right after hit show "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano". We don't really need to promote this because they've already sold out CD's of the soundtrack and surely, will have huge ratings tomorrow!

We will update this as soon as I get photos from my dslr! :)
