ACER Introduces New DLP Projectors and 50% OFF Promo

Saturday, September 03, 2016

These are the lovely things displayed during the launch. The S1383WHNE shows a lot of versatility. You can perfectly use it for Small Offices or Home Office too. It's got 3,200 ANSI lumens. The K135i on the other hand is great for school. You can take this portable DLP Projector around when you've got presentations or classes. It's got 600 ANSI lumens which could fit the purpose. The X117H on the other hand would be something for the man cave. I could imagine it to be in a Home theater, a game room (oh yes those large screens are the best!) with 3,600 ANSI lumens you can already have that seen quite clearly. If you have a tighter budget, the V7500 would be better for your Home theater needs. At 2,500 ANSI lumens, it's more than enough to suite your needs.

ACER has announced DLP Projectors, digital light processing with micro electro mechanical technology that makes their equipment project as true to life. They've been able get the largest market share in the Philippines and other countries and are not letting up so they're bringing in even more of their new projectors to satisfy their customers around the world. With leading edge innovation, leading platforms, intelligent colors, professionalism and seamless design, ACER has been working hard on making new models that outperform big expensive ones in the market.

They have countless awards already, but the thing that they promise is bring products to the forefront that makes sense, a thing that makes work easy. No matter what your room condition is, they have different projectors that are portable, fit for the home and office.  They see a large market for education and professional markets but as you see, they are very diverse that they even have some for the gaming segment (Predator). The thrust is to replace those old lcd projectors and get high tech, good cost projectors that can be installed in schools on a 1:1 ratio. Saving on electricity, making it easier to move around with less cabling, harnessing wireless technologies so it won't look like spaghetti in entertainment rooms.

Projectors from ACER cost around Php 19,999 up to Php 80,000 which depends on the specs or how big you want to get. Acer is also launching their promo where you can trade in your old projectors (any brand, working or not working, but you need to qualify a certain specification coz there are some small ones from China and that won't do) so you should definitely take this chance to get 50% OFF in all ACER stores nationwide!

You can now trade your old projector to experience DLP (Digital Light Processing) Projector Technology at 50% OFF! To qualify, you can use your working or non-working projectors with brightness of 2,500 lumens and above. Those are the only ones that are accepted. You won't be able to use those Overhead Projectors, Portable Projectors (oh yes the ones from China) or Pico Projectors either for this promo. This is only valid from August 22 up until September 11 in Metro Manila ACER stores only. Make sure you get those things ready before the end date! Thank me later!

Ivana Chubbuck Masterclass In Manila (A 2 Day Acting Workshop)

Friday, September 02, 2016

Are you still trying to find yourself? Is there still something you want to improve your acting? Script analysis? Picking your character from point A to Z? She's going to help you figure it out, she's Ivana Chubbuck.

Direk Ryan Carlos was just reading her book and said he was going to be able to  use this in the Star Magic class. It's an intensive workshop on her masterclass thrice a week, criticque Hollywood stars and later on applied it on Star Magic talents, making actors here improve a lot. She's taught Jared Leto, David Ayer who did Suicide Squad, making Sylvester Stallone win a Golden Globe too.

This is my second time being here, I feel greatful for this opportunity. It was life changing to be here the last time. She has worked with Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, Jake Cuenca, what she's come to find is that there are also some cultural differences but finds they have the same fear.  She adds "The fear of being misunderstood, being alone, but we're human beings and we are connected. It allows the workd to see through the arts and see that we have the same thing going on, there should be no bigotry and through it be equal in the arts. We have the opportunity to see that we are all the same. I studied behavioral science and not acting, we're recreating everything into having a technique of acting, directing and a legacy that is for people to know we are one and the same. It allows people to be hopeful and subliminally let them know that we are not alone. Knowing that you can change your chances, take the pain and use it to overcome and win. It feels good to also do it in your life. The Chubbuck technique is what circumstances what we need to change, overcome these issues and live it authentic enough so people believe you. In Hollywood, they want the best actor, you gotta study, you can't go to a doctor when they don't know the job. It's not done, great actors go back to study and never stop. Stallone at 69 learned again, that's what get you to win a Goldeb Globe, get new found respect and taking risks that you can do it and not because of your ethnicity."

"Beyonce didn't really want to act, she's an iconic singer and uses the Chubbuck Technique in women empowerment songs especially in the Obama inauguration. She's different and it's power, show the audience, it's the Power of the Actor and that's the reason why there's POWER on the title and that's not an accident. The technique is about Human Behavior, it can work on TV, in movies, in theater and if I could walk away in this planet and inspire one person, change their lives, I have been successful. I feel people's pain, I get into it and sometimes we try not to be personal but Beyonce in 10 miniutes came crying when we thought she wouldn't open up. I worked 7 days a week and travel all over the world, it's not about being a Hollywood star but making a connection and friendship, a soul connection, there's a sense of pride like having children go to a recital. Family is accomplishing something, you're just proud of that."

The Greatest Love

Thursday, September 01, 2016

Crazy but I thought this show was shelved already because they've already done the grand presscon a few weeks back but didn't materialize til now. This September 5, you'll get to see the much awaited "The Greatest Love" starring veteran actress Ms. Sylvia Sanchez who plays Gloria, a mother that only wishes to have a happy family. Sound simple? Not quite, as the story will intertwine with the relationships of her children. Amanda (Dimples Romana), Andrei (Matt Evans), Paeng (Arron Villaflor), Lizelle (Andi Eigenmann) and her grandson Z (Joshua Garcia) will be part of that and the cast is excited about it.

Ms. Sylvia Sanchez says "Now that I have a show, I felt so thankful because I only know Sharon Cuneta songs, but I also fell in love with the character of Gloria. It's about a mother, the ones that would block a bullet for you, we all can super relate. We just had a scene with Aaron Villaflor where we had to stop him because he did vices, the exact dialogue, the exact moment, it was something that I personally experienced. After 27 years, I honestly just want to play support roles but this was really just given to me by God so I just have to accept."

"Every role I do is a new challenge, even if it's a mother role I have a larger responsibility to Gloria and I had to fix it because it is the mother's story. I am a mother in other projects, but the one that Gloria plays is for the lead and I wasn't able to detach from it because I always took it home. Thank God I was able to learn about that. I loved my Mom even more because of this and it's because I learned a lot. My Mom became a little close to this state and later on I might be in that state too, so I understand even more. We didn't get to show it yet but we were taping already so the pressure was even more. I wanted it to be shown on Mother Mary's birthday."

"These kids are crazy, we all eat together, they are all so nice and it's a happy set that you want to do work everyday. We all know we're actors and we would want to highlight a fellow actor's scene if we need to. I'm glad even my sons promote the show and they're even more excited than me. The story also discusses the fears of a Mom with a gay kid, she accepts him but still have fears and you'll see that. I love gays but I did fear about having a son or daughter that is gay, having them be alone when they grow old, things like that."

Joshua has a lot of promise, he's very willing and eager to learn and that's something good. He connects when we want to, a little shy maybe but I reach out to him a lot because we have a lot of scenes. He now opens up and he's very promising as an actor even if he's so young.

I did gay roles in the past, I was afraid of it because it's heavy drama. They want me to do this and I prepared for it. I still have a lot of work to do. I became more transparent, I was able to become more understanding with my Mom and break down walls. It's different with my family and my problems with my Mom.

Dimples Romana arrived a bit later. She said "My Mom was very open with us and after being a part of this, I felt different in this show because sometimes we forget that our family is just here waiting for us. It's just a surprise sometimes in our scenes, we don't even know how hard it is until you see them on the set later on in the day. Amanda is even a bit mad, it scares me in a good way and I hope that's exactly how people will feel. I personally don't know if I'd even connect my own experiences but I hope the scenes would touch a lot of people.

The production said the reason why it was shown this late is because they realize they had to add more revisions in story telling. The goal was to add another feel, a different flavor in story telling that's why we had some delays. It's also management's call to put it in the afternoon slot, but it's a good venue and time to tell a good story. It's the new prime.

CONTOURS Body Design Studio's LASERFIT Works!

Okay ladies and germs. This one is a bit personal.

I am FAT. I'm proud that I have worked on this body so hard that from a tiny winy skinny boy from way back to now a big guy that's clinically obese type 2 if that's on record. You think all those days of blogging about food and attending numerous events won't catch up, but it does. What's miserable is that it came to a point where I was already having a hard time tying my shoe because my cute little stomach area is already huge. Oh yes and the infamous double chin is showing already no matter how hard I try to hide it via all the photographer known poses known to man.

I never fat shamed myself or anyone for that matter, but once that it does get a little uncomfortable to breathe or move... I thought I had to do something before I'd consider diet and gym. Think of it as a jump start, something that would make myself at least capable of comfortably doing the things I used to do and start moving again and become a more "normal" me. It's not bad to be fat don't get me wrong, but my gut was just in the way when I tried working out and to tell you honestly I wasn't doing much progress aside from profuse sweating.

I'm afraid of going under the knife so one of the nicest things I've tried recently is called LASERFIT. This is one of Contours Advanced Face and Body Sculpting Institute's non surgical treatments and I gave it a try last month. I wasn't in the best physical form to begin with and the process pretty much has three phases. If your goal is weight loss, you will be advised to get a low carb and calorie diet. Aside from that, you will have to work out right after the treatment. Aside from the actual 10 minute workout video, I also went to my gym and used my gym membership to good use. I've only been paying for it for a couple of months even when I wasn't going to the gym. It really takes discipline to get something out of this.

The whole LASERFIT process depends on this contraption. It's a machine that introduces a "cold laser" designed to melt fat. Now I am a skeptic and I don't really believe in things like these especially when they use "light" to do it. I have undergone about 8 sessions which I religiously had done in a span of 4 weeks. I had to go back to the clinic twice a week (which is the recommended way to do this) and tried to do the workout they have designed after the treatment.

Now I don't want you to get grossed out so I'm not going to post anything nude with me on the frame. Let's just say that my waistline is so huge that I often only get sizes in Surplus and foreign shops because  I don't have that Asian body type. I'm a little Hispanic, hence the larger built. I needed to do this for myself because I want to jump start my workout and lose a few inches before I do it. The treatment only takes around 40 minutes each side (front and back) so it would take you around 1 hour and 20 minutes to finish the session. After that, you have to do the workout indicated on the video below which would take you 10 minutes. Sounds easy? NO. It's hard as hell. For a person who's a little on the heavy side like me, it was so difficult to do it on the first few days. I was dreading the part of the burpees, and when I posted it on Facebook for my friends to see, I saw a LOT of them having a hard time with it too. That made me realize that it was normal and I had to do it again at home so I wouldn't be having a hard time when I do it after the sessions.

Here's the workout video:

After this workout, you MUST remember to hydrate. Drink a glass of water or two, or bring your own bottle for convenience. I needed to breathe after this 10 minute intense exercise and I'm sure you will have to do that too. Rest and freshen up before you go out of Contours. They have shower and comfort room facilities so you can change if you plan to go somewhere else. My gym was actually just a floor down so I would always just go out and run, lift weights some more.

The Verdict

Again, I'm a skeptic and I don't believe light could actually melt fat. But oh boy, I was wrong. In the second week, I already saw a huge difference in my tummy area. I concentrated the machine more on that because I wanted to lose my beer belly (even though I don't drink that much). That pouch has been troubling me tying my shoes, or just moving fast when I need to but now I don't even have to exert that much effort which is totally tops. My clothes fit quite well and just a few weeks ago I already bought my first pair of pants after the procedure. Let's just say I bought a FULL SIZE lower than what I usually buy at department stores. I went back a week after my sessions and had them measure me again. I lost about 3.5 inches in my whole body which is a remarkable amount already. I've also been gaining muscle because I've been lifting weights in the gym again. The great thing is, my friends and family do notice that my stomach area is a lot smaller than it used to. My shirts fit better, my pants is a size smaller, how can I not be happy right?

I'd like to thank the people over at Contours Advanced Face and Body Sculpting Institute. Over the span of 4 weeks, they have been steadfastly following me up so I don't miss any appointments. They have also helped me during the hard days of working out in their private gym, made sure that if I needed help they're always there to attend to me.

I lost a huge part of my beer belly, I don't even miss it one bit. I think this NON SURGICAL PROCEDURE would be VERY GOOD for men who would want to lose a couple of inches before they get married, or perhaps just about anyone who would want to fit in those clothes you've been keeping in the closet for along time, YES, those clothes that you wished you would fit again if you lost the weight (which probably didn't happen). Getting it done in Contours is a choice but what I can assure you is that LASERFIT in their center works. Honestly I wouldn't even have believed cold laser actually works, but it did. You may go ahead and call them at (02) 6354984. Contours Body Design Studio is located at the 5th Floor Building B of SM Megamall. You can also email them at consult@contours.com.ph for inquiries of treatments and their corresponding prices.
