PLDT Forges Partnership with UAAP Season 79

Tuesday, February 14, 2017

Looks like UAAP Season 79 is getting the support it needs. Telecom giant PLDT through PLDT Home just forged a partnership and they're doing it in style by getting the latest up and coming athletes from the best schools in the country. Their new endorsers include these ladies (the rookies) plus a couple more personalities who are already part of the PLDT family a couple of years back.

Top athletes from different UAAP Schools are now part of the PLDT UAAP Season 79 family.
I particularly wanted to interview my own school's representative which is Seth Rodriguez, but when they came out to greet the press, she wasn't there. Still, I was glad she was acknowledged and even dubbed as one of the rising stars of the league. Anyway, they got some of the fans to join them playing a game show which was a little close to Family Feud, but only had UAAP themed questions in it. It was amazing how much they could actually think of in a few seconds, surveys and all! In the end, the veteran players plus one from the fans actually won the game and with that includes Php 25,000 worth of sports equipment for their chosen school. That was a nice gesture.

Went home with a smile on my face and got me thinking, it looks like the volleyball future of the Philippines rest on these gals. I hope they do good after UAAP and be professionals that can represent the country in world tournaments.

Thanks to PLDT Home ULTERA for having us! Thank you also to Chili's who served very good food during the event, I was full to the brim!

You Know Her: Therese Malvar

Monday, February 13, 2017

Okay so here's the thing, this event was a little different because I've never heard or seen this actress, she's known as Teri Malvar. Don't get me wrong, this is an innocent mistake because she's like someone I've never met before (in person) but when I heard the roles she's been in, I suddenly realized I was wrong... and apparently I have seen her before. She's a diamond in the rough and I think GMA Artist Center has been keeping her in the coffers because as young as she looks, she's actually MORE experienced in acting. Mind you, she's already a multi awarded actress, recognized even abroad, nope, no joke!

She's known for her projects "Ang huling cha-cha ni Anita" (her first indie film 2013), Oh, My Mama! (a GMA TV series during 2016) and "Hamog" wherein she recently won Best Actress at the Moscow International Film Festival (2015). She also did some notable roles in "Sud sa ginhawaan" (a short film) and "Sakaling hindi makarating" which also drew acclaim locally; making her one of the most awarded and critically acclaimed artists of her generation.

Not only that, she's a very good painter, hence this small activity that GMA Artist Center prepared for us so we could get to know her. Sip & Gogh was perfect as they had wine, cheese, fruits and crackers for us, and a couple of sodas, juices for the young ones. It was a great bonding time because in the end, we had our masterpieces done OUR way.

Teri Malvar who's now known as Therese Malvar will continue to make indie films and projects on TV through GMA her home station. For some of you, you might not know her now but with these recent recognition and a couple of plans of GMA Artist Center for her in the pipeline, you won't have to use Google anymore because you'll say you know her, Therese Malvar.

Here's our short video interview:

I mentioned that she's also in "Sakaling Hindi Makarating", if you can still catch it in theaters please watch it. I like the story and might spill if I told you about it here. So better rush to theaters and their Facebook page here if you want to know more about it. Thank you Teri, thank you to GMA Artist Center and her sponsors for having us, til next time!

Valentine's Idea: Premium Chelsea by Saint Marc Cafe

You must be still thinking what to actually give her this Valentine's day. Well, better than a bouquet of flowers is this Premium Chelsea by Saint Marc Cafe. They're the same people behind the Choco Cro which I give as gifts to friends and family in nearby provinces. I also got this to give as gifts to people I know in the PR industry. No more boring china made products, just lovely crushed Meiji Chocolate (and some secret ingredients) into a thick brown filling making your butterscotch dreams into a reality!

This is more of a dessert and definitely can fill you in one serving. So if you plan to give some to family and friends, they don't really need that much of it because really, one is enough for one person. If you are on a diet, you might even need to share. But I tell you, it's really intense butterscotch flavor and it's the same formulation that they do in Japan. You'll love it as it's freshly baked everyday in Saint Marc Cafe.

Now if you are making this as a gift to your special someone and plan to refrigerate it first (to give later in the evening), as the premium Chelsea can be reheated in the Microwave (for a few seconds) or usual oven around a minute or two and it'll still turn out flaky, irresistible, because it's what dreams are made of.

Or you could always have the original Choco Cro from them too. Though I'd prefer something different, something that you can take home, something that she's going to think of as something you made an effort with. The usual roses and chocolates could definitely be boring... find a good alternative like this one from Saint Marc Cafe. They have branches in SM Megamall Fashion Hall, Greenbelt 3, UP Town Center and SM North Edsa. Better yet, visit them there and have those lovely Valentines Bundles that's got everything good at a lesser price.

Dude, take her there!

Power Mac Center and ADAM elements at the 21st Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

Sunday, February 12, 2017

I was invited to go to a trip up north for the 21st Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta with some of my blogger friends to try out one of Power Mac Center's best selling products, a brand called ADAM elements. I'm an iPhone user since they discontinued the Blackberry, so it's quite a long time already since I've had my iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S. As a blogger, I've taken thousands of photos, tons of videos too because of my coverages and you know I would suffer in storage because of that. I've been surviving using 2 16GB phones because I have fast LTE connection courtesy of Smart Communications (which I am super thankful for) where I upload my media real time so my phone won't get full. Sometimes, I couldn't still delete some of the files on my phone because I blog on it too and need the photos to be posted on my @kumagcow instagram account fast.

This is the 32GB iKlips DUO+ which I used during the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, it was easy to transfer files and take photos because you don't have to worry about storage.
This is the iKlips DUO which I won in the raffle, and now it's part of my life.

I've been looking for  a solution for my storage problems but I couldn't really find the one that would be easy to carry around and connect to my laptop when I need to. ADAM elements took us to take photos of the Hot Air event and had us compete with our co-bloggers to see who could whip up an excellent shot without worrying about storage using iKlips (the app), iKlips Duo (first generation hot swappable storage) and iKlips Duo+ (which I had that afternoon). I actually had the capability of putting all my old files on it and making an experiential video about the trip, so here you go and enjoy!

I actually had 4 entries in mind and wanted an element of humans in it. This one was for the German Balloon, pulled by men who worked so early in the morning before the lift off around 7ish.

An element of love, there were tons of brides and grooms who did their prenup in the venue.

This was the ceremonial first fire, done by the Captain himself

My photo entry called TRINITY. It won me an iPAD2 from POWER MAC CENTER!
I would like to take this bit and thank POWER MAC CENTER for bringing us to Clark Pampanga, thank you also to ADAM elements who gave us an experience using the iKlips DUO and DUO+ storage (one of which I won in the raffle! Thank you!). Also, thank you to the fine people of 21st Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta aka Ms. Millet who gave us Media Passes for the event. Thank you for changing my life ADAM elements!
