Converse x Inquirer Face Off OOTD

Saturday, March 04, 2017

I was really excited about this show and just one word of runway or CONVERSE means I'm there! Courtesy of our friends from the well loved street wear brand, we got a seat somewhere in the crowd and played comfy. Took my DSLR for a run again and tried to shoot even from afar, so I really apologize for the heads on the shots... as it was really packed there and we can't do anything about that. Converse just came out with really good Gum Soles and reflective ones a couple of months back, but this was more of a showcase on what they can do in movies, fashion shows with whatever the models would wear. From long gowns, to funky headdresses, from sleek to puffy dresses, they still rock the look because Converse can fit anywhere.

As partners of the program, FOSSIL (the watch brand) also showcased their latest designs and got a few models to wear them. I think I saw Ms. Sutton who wore yellow somewhere there. It was a pretty cool thing to start the event off.

The show was hosted by social butterfly Tessa Prieto Valdes and Vince Velasco. No there's no generation gap, but Ms. Tessa wanted to wear 5 inch Converse heels if there was time. They were fun! They also started to give away the best dressed awards before the continuation of the runway show. Benjamin Alvez and sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose got the title, quite fit to get that.

Then the runway show opened with Jodily Pendre, who missed Asia's Next Top model by a hairline.

Hey that's Luke Jickain!

I think this guy is an actor from ABSCBN, I'm sorry I forgot his name as of this writing. :(

Show stopper, this is Andre Chang.

She got slapped on TV, but she's here!

This one is cute, they came out from other ends of the stage and when the guy came in, he held her hand.

This one is JAPA NICE.

I haven't interviewed this lady yet, I was told she is Lauren Reid. You guessed it.

Gorgeous Klea Pineda, a GMA artist.

This would look good on me :)

Then Cary Santiago had us gasp at her masterpiece, all three of them!

Even Tessa Prieto felt it was good.

Then suddenly, there she was. 6th Place Miss Universe Maxene Medina.

Now I too am loving my own pair of Chucks and got the Gum Sole variety in Blue. Formal, casual, or just about any day, a good pair of CONVERSE should always be in your mind. You know you want to do it, what is it that's stopping you?

Hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did!

UNIQLO Spring/Summer Collection 2017

Friday, March 03, 2017

Hailed a #SmartUber and got myself down south for the UNIQLO Lifewear Event in Whitespace in Pasong Tamo. Fashion people, bloggers and media were all there as the brand exposed their 2017 Spring/Summer Collection and yes, it reminded me so much of simple, basic Japanese wear. They have championed this part of the market and have been winning hearts even of the westeners because let's face it, it all boils down to comfort, functionality, style and affordability which UNIQLO definitely has.

They are still innovating, making simple, quality and timeless pieces that can be more warm, light, look better and very comfortable. They are SIMPLE but made BETTER.

Color wise, they have a multitude to choose from. Although this season, it's more of earth tones, albeit some are monochrome, they still have the technology of the fabric to back them up. UNIQLO Work Smart collection had some pieces which you can layer, or put together with your current wardrobe so you looked polished and professional. They keep these clothes a little more resistant to wrinkles (which the Japanese are also known for) and lets you worry less about it, just style and get dressed up office hours.

UNIQLO Kids and UNIQLO Baby won't be running out of cool, easy to wash clothes so they would always have more time for play and worry about Mom's washing machine later.

UNIQLO Sport is not entirely going to be just for athletics, it's Lifewear so whether you're in the office and want to suddenly stroll around a park or go for a quick run, you can still use these pieces for the same. It's casual, it's sport, it's work, all Lifewear.

The UNIQLO x INES DE LA FRESSANGE collection is so cute, I could imagine how these would fit millenials which they probably have designed this for. Now who's up for it? I know about a handful that would get this, as quirky as it may seem for everyday Filipinos to wear it.

Some of my personal favorites are in the UNIQLO T. They've also got some Marvel and cartoon stuff that I would use for everyday wear. I'd be happy to do that in a few shopping visits in their store LOL. That and the thermals which I would need in "hopefully" a couple of days.

UNIQLO Jeans are made for everyday use. Man, woman, kid or something else, these jeans fit various body types that are comfortable from Monday to Sunday, verified and studied by their very own Denim Innovation Center, which they are so proud of.

UNIQLO's AIRISM is an innerwear line that solves the problem of sweat, and uncomfortable clothing because it's cooling, and quick drying which stems from the long years of research they did about the fabrics. Even if it's under a layer or two, it'll still be as fresh because it's made that way.

It looks like Spring and Summer would look good and easy because UNIQLO addressed just about every person in the family, every particular reason you need to change wardrobe this season. The store is huge, they're waiting for you. So I hope you don't run out of things to buy when you get there, in various department stores and malls nationwide!

Because UNIQLO can.

"Bhoy Intsik" for Sinag Maynila 2017

Just got off the presscon for "BHOY INTSIK" starred by Raymond Francisco, the official entry of Frontrow Entertainment to the Sinag Maynila 2017. He says "I didn't know at first that there are people living in cemeteries, the parallelism of how these things happen in real life is insurmountable. I play a gay character, dresses up to fool people, but I have a soft heart. I worked with Direk Joey in the past and when I got word that I was going to do the lead role, I was nervous, but Direk was precise and we attacked this role differently. I play different roles really, it's my first lead role and my BIGGEST break. To a point this is gay empowerment, I really don't like gay roles where they get ridiculed, kicked, and this is good."

Also included in this film is Ronwaldo Martin, Coco Martin's brother. He's done several indie films already including Cinemalaya entries like "Pamilya Ordinaryo" and his supportive brother has nothing but good words for him. He's playing Marlon, a not so good guy who also happens to be a con man. He lives with "Boy Intsik" and gets into conflicts with him in this project. He wants to later on be paired with Anne Curtis and also get to where Coco Martin is today. He's got a very good disposition, and I could see Coco Martin in him when he was younger. He's not single, unfortunately for you ladies, and he's had his non showbiz GF for a couple of years now. He says "I was hand picked by Direk Joey and being Marlon Pogi I hope the contrast comes through. I live in a bus, live everywhere and the character calls for something raw which was asked for me in the film. I'm excited to see this on screen! He's going to get booked, but wouldn't be romantically involved with a lady in this film."

Direk Joel Lamangan adds "The story is from real life, it's from a depressed area in Cavite. That person is already dead but when he was alive some of the things in this film was patterned with what he did in the past. I knew RS aka Raymond Francisco was fit for the film because I watched his previous stage plays. They were enemies before and they got to know each other later on. I knew they were all veteran actors, I challenged them to do it and they are good. Ronwaldo is super tight lipped but he does the job quite well and observes people so he could adapt to the role. We have full dimentional characters, and they did it with ease. They are the best assets of this film and they see the need for aesthetic quality, they are a very good addition to the industry. I hope people watch this in SM Cinemas, Gateway Mall and other theaters in Metro Manila! It's not done yet with the sub titling but we're sending this also to Hong Kong hopefully soon."

Sinag Maynila 2017 will run from March 9-14, 2017 in selected cinemas in Metro Manila.
