Gabbi Garcia Does Pantene Asian Campaign And This Months Preview Cover

Tuesday, April 04, 2017

In a short luncheon today, we had the opportunity to talk to Gabbi Garcia; GMA's new premier leading lady who just graced the newest PANTENE commercial and this months cover for PREVIEW Magazine. These two big projects came at an opportune time when she's already doing the huge show Encantadia as the franchise's Alena.

Gabbi says "It was so awesome to see everyone flew in for me, all the best people in the industry who did Pantene's commercial with Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding, in an isolated place and I was lucky to be there. There were all cottages, I went in an RV, there were a lot of firsts and it felt so real that I was able to experience that. We did rehearsals and I was able to drive the mustang. The place was so big and had salt that glisten when the sun hits it. My stylist was also from Hollywood and getting to hear their stories gave me goosebumps that I was working with them. It was a very fun experience, once in a lifetime and I had no idea if it would turn out well. It felt like wow, and it will be shown in Asia and Australia. It's a different feeling and it's good that Ruru and I got to do things individually. I'm not closing my doors for anything, I would like to accept all the projects and see what's going to happen. There are opportunities individually but we're still together and when we entered Encantadia we got to work with people. Ara is a great girl and Ruru is happy for me, those news about separation made me laugh because we always see each other. There's no issue between us, we're just artists who also grow. I also feel it's not the right time to join Binibini. Maybe they saw something in me, I wasn't playing roles, I told them my story and it's inspiring to know people believe in me so much. I think I was just being Gabby, and I feel blessed and I'm proud of what is happening. I think the magazine cover is about switching from teeny bopper roles to more mature ones. The shoot was high fashion and I think I'm growing as a person. It's something like a step closer detaching from that stage. Ruru was happy for me, he said it's happening and he was happy for me. We do not pull each other down and he supports me in everything I do. It wasn't planned to have my cover for this month, Pantene just came in on the magazine when they heard about it and it was a great opportunity, it was just the perfect timing. I've been dreaming to really get there, and with Artist Center's help I realy hope it does. I feel so good, that the network and Artist Center understand me very well. I'm very sure this is a give and take relationship, when they give me a project I'll make sure I would do good and I always want to give it all back."

"My mom and dad were all so happy, I got rejected 50 times and I only book 3, seeing them be happy for me was priceless. They have supported me eversince, without them I would be lost. They always tell me what I need to do, to walk the path. It feels so empowering to be called a fashion icon and if I do it right, to inspire teens, people my age. I do go with trends but I prefer classic pieces, less is more and I'm very minimalist. I look up to my Mom and I admire her the most. I could say that she's someone I would like to be when I grew up. Australia was fun, I also got to Bondi Beach and it was a surfing place with lots of sharks so I only took a lot of selfies."

Gabbi will still be doing a lot of shows with GMA and if the opportunity arises of working abroad because of the exposure she'll get from this commercial since this will be seen in different countries across the Asia Pacific, perhaps other parts of the world.

Congratulations Gabbi! I'm sure this won't be the end of it because you are still young, and gots lots of time to achieve your dreams!

Build Your Own Smart Postpaid Plans Starting at 399

How much data do you use when you're binging so much during that rainy afternoon on K Dramas, iFlix, Youtube and Fox+? How much data do you think I use streaming videos with the events, or UAAP matches that I cover each day? To give you a ballpark figure, it's a LOT!

It's pretty evident that if I were not in the right plan, I wouldn't be able to cover your favorite stars, or play games and watch my favorite shows streamed. Smart wants to address this especially for those who are considering a bigger data allocation because the biggest network in the country is coming out with even better pospaid plans which you can build on your own. For starters, anyone can literally upgrade with a line only plan by just presenting their valid ID.

Plan 399 also has 3GB of data, then Plan 599 has 5GB of data, Plan 799 has 8GB of data, Plan 999 at 10GB, Plan 1499 at 18GB (which I probably will get), Plan 1999 at 24GB of data, Plan 2499 at 30GB of data and Plan 2999 at 36GB of data, all of which have improved data allowances than what Smart previously offered. This wpuld definitely get you the needed stretch you need to binge watch and upload media no matter what social media channel that is. That's BIG data allowance for the usual charges, which means YOU save a lot in the end. These new SMART postpaid plans are also FLEXIBLE because you won't get locked up with a device in limited set of services. You can even have your monthly cash out be added to your postpaid bill. You have total control of your mobile lifestyle.

Isn't that the SMART choice?

Come Taste Flavors of the Philippines 2017

Monday, April 03, 2017

I've always have this innate fondness to Filipino cuisine ever since I've been blogging. The concept has always been simple but there's been nostalgia, history in every dish that describes us as people. This is the reason that everytime I have guests or relatives arriving from any place in the world, I make them taste Filipino food as much as I can. Now what if I could tell you that you can actually taste the dishes of 7641 islands without leaving the comforts of the city? Skeptic? Well don't worry, let me show you the way!

You see, Flavors of the Philippines 2017 was just recently launched by the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Promotions Board. It's on it's third year and they are doing this for the whole month of April so anybody, of all walks of life could actually get to taste Filipino cuisine from the best hotels and restaurants in the country.

Alta in BGC starts off with Alta's Spanish x Pinoy Set Menus with ingredients like Huevos, Kabute, Rabano, Pipino, Pulpo, Camote, Balatinao, Totija, Pomelo and Cocoa for a more Spanish - Filipino fusion context. We all know we have 300 years of history to go with that. Grace Park in Rockwell on the other hand has Chorizo in a Blanket, Spaghettini with goulash, sun dried tomatoes and calamaya olives, plus the famous Callos which everyone treats as comfort food. Then for Jamon Iberico treats at Lusso in Greenbelt 5, they've got that famous ham paired with baby olives, french baguettes, salad and tomatoes. They also have a Croqueta Bar complete with Bacalao, Jamon Serrano, and lovely TDF lechon (no feast is complete without it). There are tons of other bars and restaurants like The Pantry which serve lovely original concoctions made from herbs, fruits and spirits inside historic Dusit Thani Manila in Makati City. There's also Cafe Janealo's Halo Halo Smoothie and Bibingka (rice cake) in Cabildo street along the Intramuros district so you could taste a little piece of Filipino Christmas any time of the day! And if you're there, have seconds at Barbaras in General Luna Street Intramuros for various "sinaunang putaje" (old recipes) from different regions in the country. Illustrado Restaurant and Cafe in the same area also serves heritage cuisines if you are much of a history junky, take time for lunch with their Ilustrado Inaugural Feast which includes someof the things they serve before a Philippine President is sworn into office. If you want to taste the favorites, head on back to Bistro Trasierra at the AIM office in Legaspi Makati so you can get the staples in every Gilipino fiesta.

If you are fond of "merienda" (in betwreen snacks), Milky Way in Arnaiz Avenue in Makati City has got the best Pansit Luglug, Tokwat Baboy and Arroz Caldo (we have this as meals every late afternoon). You have tons to choose from and if you can't get the time to visit ALL the islands, just head on to these establishments which assures you authentic Filipino food and experience everyday.

For more information, visit them at http://www.tourism.gov.ph/ today and take a look at how the Philippines can be seen and felt through gastronomic experiences in just a few days! Because again, it's more fun in the Philippines!

RAPOO x VPRO Asks Why So Serious?

I admit, I still am a little boring. Do you have gaming rigs at home? What does your keyboard look like? How about your mouse? What does your headphone look like? I'm asking because mine is all white and apparently, this event I'm in right now solidified my "boring" theory LOL.

Popular brand RAPOO and VPRO knows there are still boring people like me so they've done industrial art and technology on these computer peripherals and take imagination to reality. They make really good gaming keyboards, and they're definitely not boring.

They've got wired and wireless keyboards that's designed well, breaking normal styled ones and crafted with the desire to create a revolution. I love the V500L the most because just look at the colors! It's also so comfortable for hours of gameplay. I also like how the keyboards are lit so you can still see even in the dark. The responsiveness and sensitivity is also unquestionable, I could really win games and type blog entries normally with these kind of keyboard. I'm drooling with envy as they have all of these on display. I want one! :)

The VPRO headsets were really impressive too. Deep bass with clear and sharp sound, how can you not love something like this?

The headphones also are quite comfortable. Soft and not too hot on the ears, which is probably done so you can wear it for hours and hear the enemies close in on you if the radars don't work. The thing also changes colors which looked so fancy I'd mistake it for professional DJ equipment. It would work with games and music I'm sure.

The mouse you're seeing right now is also my favorite. This is the V26. It's a wired Gaming Mouse with 3000 DPI, 5 Buttons and multi colored LED, it was actually changing colors as I took this photo. It costs 30 US dollars on international stores and I bet it'll be around that price range in pesos. They actually have more on their line and if you want to experience it, buy it off online stores and computer accessory stores nationwide. Just look for the RAPOO and VPRO brand. They've just started with the gaming peripherals and you'll see how it will change your gaming and computing experience very soon!

Why so serious? When you can PLAY!
