The Directors Club at SM Cinemas

Monday, May 22, 2017

Had a lovely time spent with friends at The Directors Club in SM Mall of Asia. I didn't know the place exists and find it's perfect for small screenings. It seats about 30 people, and they serve tons of food and drinks which would go well with the movie. SM Lifestyle and Entertainment recently held a promo for fans of their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/smlifestyleentertainment/ and their Twitter handle @SM_Cinema for deserving people and got them tickets to see Pirates of the Carribean Salazars Revenge. Thing is, we got to watch it ahead of everyone else. So if you're lucky, and you also follow their Facebook page and Twitter account, then you could be some of the winners too.

The food was awesome, I mean who doesn't like freshly popped pop corn and those lovely burgers that SM Cinemas have? They're actually cheap but really filling. I also enjoyed the reclining seats since The Directors Club have Lazy Boys for every patron. It was like watching a show in your own living room, with a super wide screen of course and air conditioning. Plus a simple buzz would get people rushing with service, have your popcorn and soda ready in minutes while you watch the movie. Experience it yourself at the 2nd Floor of the Mall of Asia's main building.

At least you don't have a lot of people and heads in your way, it's more intimate and perhaps a good place to watch with your friends and family.

I Might Have Diabetes and It Scares Me

It's been a while since I've managed to attend one of these. Mall goers and shoppers at SM Megamall just got treats and special tests at the Health and Wellness Fair. You see, Filipinos have been heavily affected by diabetes and by no means is this a joke. The condition can cause a lot of other things like kidney failure, blindness, heart attack and death so early detection and treatment is vital as one type of it is a lifestyle disease. There were tons of shoppers and people from Mandaluyong city who attended the event to get tips from industry experts and doctors how to counter diabetes, and by the looks of it, they're doing it right.

I guess part of the solution is being educated about how it actually happens. There were real diabetes patients who shared their story on how they found out they have it. If you're tired and you can't explain it, if you're so extremely thirsty even right before you sleep of if you see your urine getting ants on it, chances are, you have it. You should never make it a laughing matter because as I said earlier, you can actually suffer in the end... and we wouldn't want that to happen do we?

Food: They showed us how it is vital to control what you eat and make sure it is either gluten free, or extremely pleasing to the eyes without compromising flavor. There are tons of ingredients out there that can be bought in local groceries which you can add in on your favorite meals so you get to beat diabetes early on.

Keeping Active: You need to make sure you have an active lifestyle. The disease does affect the body but you won't beat it by just lying around and wait for it to happen. You need to workout, make that exercise a part of your everyday routine. If you're at work, at home, or at school, there's no excuse because having a healthy lifestyle takes dedication, work but make sure you also enjoy it. Take some friends along with you while running, do a zumba class (no matter how lame that sounds), or just about any outdoor activity that could make you as great when you didn't have it in the first place.

Now I have a confession to make. I took a test randomly during this event, and I'm quite afraid about the results. The normal blood sugar levels are around 140, but during the random test... when I approached the table to know about it... the one running it told me "You are diabetic right?". Imagine my shock when she said that, because when she told me my result "because it's 340". That means it's like 200% over the normal rate, and you know how I feel? I feel nervous, I feel a little sad that this random test confirmed what I think was happening to me. But I won't let this beat me, I'm changing my habits, I'm cutting out Coke, I'm not eating rice (unless it's Sushi). I will also get myself checked with the Doctor. I don't want to tell you what to do, but Diabetes is serious. If you have the symptoms, go get yourself checked because you'll eventually go tired of your excuses.

I might have Diabetes, and it's scary. I will go to the Doctor and confirm it, but you should too. Thanks to the people behind the Health and Wellness Fair for doing this event, if I didn't take that random test I wouldn't have known that it was time to go to the doctor (I will today.).

Oyo Boy and Kristine Hermosa-Sotto on the Set of Hay Bahay!

Saturday, May 20, 2017

I didn't know what to feel when I was invited to go down south to see the set of Hay Bahay! Its the 45 minute sitcom which stars Vic Sotto, Ms. Aiai Delas Alas, Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo, and real life lovebirds Oyo Boy and Kristine Hermosa Sotto shown on GMA every Sunday. I was a little nervous as I was about to talk to really big stars from my generation and add to that one of the prettiest faces in the planet was there, who was still stunning as ever. I don't even know if Kristine Hermosa is still aware of that but she shared her secrets about how she's still as gorgeous as ever during our interview. Yes we have video interviews of Oyo Boy and Ms. Kristine so stay tuned! For the mean time let's take you around the house, this is like a personal tour :)

Have you seen the front of this house? I thought i was just a wall put up on a set but when we visited, it was actually a real house built from the ground up and they can dismantle it and put it up anytime they want, and it was quite detailed thanks to the set designer who planned this all. We actually talked to him a few hours before the shoot and we had to interview between takes, I forgot his name but he was one of he pioneers who loved and started shipping ALDUB. It was fun to see how they actually have fun on the set and make all the funny scenes all seem so natural as if they weren't following any script, but they were. That takes genius.

This part is the couch where they usually have scenes, they usuall talk here when they go in and out of the house.

Do you also recognize this? This is their veranda and if they want to shoot outdoors, this is where they do it.

This is the kitchen, and if I didn't know this was the set I'd really mistake it for one, we had to remember that it didn't have a working sink, but isn't this immaculate?

This is one of the guest rooms in the house, they had like one or two scenes here during that day and I was so ecstatic because when I shot this particular room, Ms. Kristine Hermosa passed by~ I was like OMG lol

And if you really watch the show, they probably end all the scenes in this dining table. They kinda fix all the conflicts here while talking like a family, maybe that's exactly why this show has been very successful, you'll be laughing like a hyena tomorrow when the episode shows tomorrow (yes they show during Sundays) and you will also get to see Oyo and Kristines baby Marvic (who is super cute btw). Now here's the interview we had with Oyo Boy and Ms. Kristine during our set visit. Enjoy this one because not thatmany people has have had a chance to interview them about their show and their personal lives. Listen in!

I would like to take this bit and thank everyone at the Hay Bahay! set for allowing us to do this even on a busy shooting day. Thank you also to Oyo and Kristine for being so accomodating albeit not that familiar about blogger interviews. I like how the show talks about family life, their relationships, some mishaps but at the end of the day still keep themselves together no matter what problems arise. Hey by the way, this episode includes talk about someone getting married, are you ready for Hay Bahay tomorrow? I sure am excited about this! It shows during GMA's Sunday Grande. Don't miss it!

Vivo Outs Most Awaited VIVO V5S

Friday, May 19, 2017

They have been really aggressive in coming out with phones lately and they're not about to stop today. We're at SM North EDSA to witness another one which they call Vivo V5S. After its successful predecessors, this one gives consumers another option for those who want to take their selfie game into another level as they have continued to promise "the perfect" selfie since their V5 series.

The event was hosted by Verniece Enciso and VJ Nico Ramos.

Hazel Bascon confirms the phone is actually an upgrade for their best selling Vivo V5 and declares they will be the number 1 brand very soon.

Tony Labrusca also is an endorser for the phone brand and he serenaded the ladies, yes they were all screaming when he sang "Tuloy Pa Rin" which was also used in that McDonalds commercial he starred in.

The Vivo V5S boasts a 20 MP Front Camera (perfect for low light or large image output), the Selfie Softlight (so you don't have to get harsh everytime you take a photo), 4GB RAM for optimum processing speed, 64GB Internal Memory (more photos, more apps installed, more fun!), Ultra HD at 52MP (superb printing when you have to), Fast Finger Unlocking (at 0.2 seconds when it securely identifies your fingerprint), and HiFi music using AK4376 audio chip which can get you the best music too. Now it's available in the Philippines for only Php 14,990 which is quite good for a mid range phone with these specifications, it's one of the best at it's price point.

They also have group selfies too!

Now who's excited to get one today?
