Aicelle Santos for "AWIT NA AICELLE!" at the Music Museum

Wednesday, November 08, 2017

She's gorgeous, she's talented and very much a good soul. It's probably the reason why she's blessed because it takes a lot to be Aicelle Santos. She's the Rock and soul diva she just had us at awe when she appeared for a bog conference in Palm Grill Tomas Morato yesterday.

She says "I love soul, rnb music and if it's about the discipline, theater had me. I have to rehearse not just because of money, but you have to feed your passion, you have to feed your soul."

We also saw her dish out tunes with the country's one and only Regine Velasquez Alcasid during the Regine 3.0 concert, with how the netizens saw her performance they completely were taken aback on how she was able to carry a song with Asia's songbird. She humbly says "I was just singing as usual, it was something that was expected of me but I too was surprised on how the netizens lauded me for that performance. I am just blessed".

Here's our interview with the lovely lady:

Here's how she slayed us with her new song:

If you need tickets to the show, you may get it from Ticketnet outlets (8919999), GMA Artist Center and at the Music Museum entrance (7216726) on the day of the event. Don't miss it on November 30, 2017. You'll love her even more! That I'm sure!

HEY MATTEO at the Kia Theater

Tuesday, November 07, 2017

I was surprised to see Matteo Guidicelli actually singing live, dishing some of his original music. He knows the Filipinos now are intense, so he wants to reflect that in the songs that he's doing in his upcoming concert called HEY MATTEO. Hoping you would be able to get to know him, less the electonic stuff because he wants to tone it down, make it a bit raw and a bit reminiscent of the sounds he grew up with.

Matteo says "This passion of mine came about when I was in high school. These guys are my friends (pointing to his band) and a few years ago they were just doing this for fun every weekend. My album "Hey Matteo!" consists of all original songs and they knew how a lot of people would appreciate it. I have friends who wrote for me some of the songs in the album, I don't know how to write lyrics yet but I'd like to do that soon. I told them I want the 90's feel, a bit alternative and this is what happened. Now, it's a different concept, I'm bringing a little pop rock on the table and I hope people would love it. The whole album is about what I feel, it's about the truth and this is like my outlet, my reality. This has been my dream and Sarah is a big inspiration to whatever I do. I want to focus on these things, I found love in music and I hope to bring this to schools."

Here's a couple of the songs from his album, enjoy!

Then he adds "Kia Theater is scary already for me, but I trust my team, they told me to do it there. I'm just a boy from Cebu who just wants to make things happen. I have intense songs, love songs, some that would charm and some that has rage in the album. It's a mix, 10 tracks and I'm glad Big Bang Productions and Star Music helped us distribute it and I'm glad. I'll also be doing a movie to be released next year so I hope you support me in all my endeavors. I'll be doing a few covers and doing a few numbers with other artists too. I hope you'll love that."

HEY MATTEO will happen at the Kia Theater on November 30, 2017 at 7:30pm. Be there and support him please! :) It will be a fun night as he tells his story.

CONVERSE Proves White Chucks Goes With Anything

Sunsets in my hood with White Chucks, a classic that never goes out of style.
I've had a ton of stories with Converse in mind, but the ones with White Chucks on them stand out.

I always had an inkling with colored chucks because I'm the OC type. White Chucks for me meant it was going to be hard to maintain, I would be horrible with it because it would be full of mud and stuff in just one night. So in a nutshell, I've never owned one like now. One that was close was a little off white (which was plain canvass which was released a couple of years ago). During sale events of Converse, I usually buy those that have really loud colors, really funky designs and did shy away from white ones because I knew how hard it would be to actually keep it. Although I've often wondered why people have continued to HOARD the classic white chucks ALL THE TIME whenever it's on the shelves, I've seen a LOT of people get it by huge bags full and I'm not even joking!

Lo and behold I've met my first ever WHITE CHUCKS!
Converse must have been alarmed about what I was thinking and told us in a big event at Le Reve in Quezon City that the famed WHITE CHUCKS can go with ANYTHING. Now that's a BIG pronouncement right there and honestly I do have my reservations, but you know what? I've seen people with WHITE CHUCKS actually do it for real. During the event, they set out the whole venue to hold the CONVERSE WHITE PARTY, figured they can dress anyone and still pair those White Chucks with anything. Case in point, my blogger friends Ruth and Rodel (photo courtesy of our friends from NognogintheCity.com):

Put them in a RED or BLUE outfit, no problem. White Chucks goes with anything!
Now I've seen it all, they were clad in different colors like red, blue, yellow, but all confidently carrying these clothes with the right kind of shoes, it was like the WHITE CHUCKS was meant to be word with them. They're absolutely right, these white chucks CAN go with anything!

I wore my pair of WHITE CHUCKS during a high school reunion last week. All eyes on the shoes!
I wore these shoes during our high school reunion last week and it was like nostalgia. It fit right in with our 90's theme and if my hunch was right, almost everyone in my class had their own Converse shoes on too. With GREEN hair, BROWN trousers, GRAY shirt and a LEATHER jacket, it all fit right in with my look that evening and I was getting complements left and right. It didn't matter when I was already looking like a COLORWHEEL that night because I wore that lovely comfy pair. It still went with my look... and I was happy. After the festivities and drinks, I got a little woozy, I looked at my shoes and it had smudges on them.

I stood up and went to the men's room, pulled a couple of paper towels and poured water on it. I gently wiped the dirt off, while my classmate went in and wondered why I was frantic, why I was on the floor doing all that. He knew what I was doing and said "Hey man, don't worry too much about it! It's WHITE Chucks, it's supposed to be dirty because without it, it won't have character." then went about his business. I guess he's right, I shouldn't worry about that at all. I mean I am really too worried about small things and he's right, after a few days I've worn my Chucks with all that dirt. It still looked fine, and people don't even bother. It now has character. :)

CONVERSE is right. The WHITE CHUCKS goes with anything. You might be a skeptic like me, but with all those days I've worn these, it has been proven. Now for those who also want news from them, I've heart they also have released the second wave of TYLER THE CREATOR's collaboration with Converse.

Jolly Green, Solar Power and Vanilla from Tyler the Creator and Converse.
This is part of the new Golf Le Fleur collection and is now exclusively available at Converse branches in Commonwealth and SM Aura for only Php 5,990.

Go head on to the Converse Philippines Facebook page and follow the ConversePH Instagram account for more details. Thank you CONVERSE for everything!

REEF Holds "Free The Sea Movement 2" in Baler

Monday, November 06, 2017

I missed this event because of my Dad's birthday but that doesn't mean I shouldn't tell you about it. You see, our friends from surf and lifestyle brand REEF just held "Free The Sea Movement 2" last September 29 to October 1 in Baler to promote responsible tourism and environmental conservation in the Philippines. The majestic seascapes in Aurora proved to be an unbelievable backdrop for this cause which they've done with WWF Philippines, I was envious of them because they cleaned up Sabang Beach while my fellow bloggers and volunteers were there.

This campaign has been in line with Reef's "We Heart" campaign as part of their global outreach efforts. Through this, they want to educate travelers and leave a positive impact for all the communities they visit. According to the Marketing Head for Reef Marnelli Gaerlan, they also want to make sure people see how to work together and maintain the adept ecological conditions of it so it could be enjoyed by future generations. A noble cause.

During the 3 day event, they also got to enjoy a few surfing lessons at the Nalu Surf Camp and later on have a wonderful time with Soundcloud Philippines' Ann Clerigo and indie musicians Banna Harbera. They also had an afterparty with Eazyhead, DJ Doms Badwolf and DJ CC. They also had a beginner surfer competition, and announced Reef's donation to WWF so they can further push for the organization's environmental programs.

I bet it will be a bigger one next year, congratulations REEF! Thank you for doing this gig together with WWF. Your care for nature is evident, I hope this means bigger and better waves for you, and pristine beaches for Filipinos and the citizens of the world! To know more about the cause and the brand, please visit https://www.reef.com/ and WWF's Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/WWF.Philippines.

P.S. I look cute with this cap, thanks for this!
