A Zoobic Night Safari this Holiday Break

Saturday, December 30, 2017

Oh no, don’t let this long holiday break end without doing something special like this one at Zoobic Night Safari. This thing happens at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone Group 1, Ilanin Forest at the Subic Freeport Zone and will only last until January 6. You won’t see it until March so that’s a long time if you actually miss it. This would be a great opportunity for your kids or lovers to get up close and personal with the cute zoo animals under the dark cold sky.

You’ll be entertained by world class Filipinos and escorted through a night scaped jungle while being guided by kind greyhounds. You’ll see snakes, iguanas, lizards of all kinds in the Serpentarium. You’ll also get to pet some of them through a trail and see how they move while living through the night as some of these guys are nocturnal, including Tigers in their own habitat!

You’ll also see lions, crocodiles, birds and other animals while they go about their everyday chores, not usually seen in the Zoo during daytime. You will also be treated to a world class show, cast of Filipinos so you get a dose of culture even if you’re in a predatory mood.

Entrance fees only costs Php 895 for adults, Php 795 for kids 3-4 ft. It already includes dinner, but if you opt not to have food just get 100 off of that price. If you are bringing some kids shorter than that, they get in for FREE. Now isn’t that a nice deal?

Fun with Fans of Gabbi Garcia

Friday, December 29, 2017

It's been a while since we've seen Gabbi Garcia, I think the last time was when she was having lunch with her family at Rockwell at the Grove a couple months back. Of course we've seen her in different projects on GMA too and to say the least, she's been very busy because aside from the numerous fashion spreads, she's got an international commercial, several guestings and an upcoming show this 2018 which all GabRu fans should watch out for. It was also her birthday a couple weeks ago and on this event, she chose to spend it with some of her dearest supporters, her fans who have been there for her since day 1.

The event was hosted by good looking Joshua Jacobe of GMA Artist Center. I could feel he's also a bit captivated by Gabbi's beauty, I mean who wouldn't right? Hehe.

Gabbi was pretty much overwhelmed seeing some of her fans who came all the way from far flung provinces just to see her that afternoon. She couldn't help but get emotional hearing stories from her fans who took time, spend their own money just to support her in her current shows and projects. We also got to ask her a few questions during her birthday event at CAVE in Tomas Morato.

Gabbi would like to thank her sponsors Pantene, Goldilocks and GMA Artist Center for helping her get in touch with her fans that afternoon. I only wish her the best as she faces the challenges of 2018, and hope all her career choices be a smart one because she deserves to be happy.

Watching Better MMFF 2017 at Ayala Malls

Tuesday, December 26, 2017

It's been an absolutely fun day to watch entries of MMFF especially when I'm doing it in Ayala Malls Vertis North. I started very early in the morning and saw lines were long, but definitely still organized. What's special in Ayala Malls Vertis North is the comfort that you get in your seats, it's all lazy boys! Aside from that, I think it's by far the largest cinema I've been in. I have never been to a cinema that needed an elevator to go to your seats.

I also got into a special place, it felt secluded and less people were there, perfect for me who don't like much crowds.

This is Metro Manila Film Festival 2017, an annual showcase of Filipino films designed for families. Entries come from big and small film companies and to be part of the final entries, is but a great deal. So I decided 3 movies in one day.

The Revenger Squad

It's like a toned down GGV show with full on costumes and pink fluff. Good comedy, a little wordy and slapstick but you'll like it because Pia Wurtzbach and Daniel Padilla is here. Vice still is the Queen of the show but her antics with the rest of the squad comes a close second. Pia also is good here that I'd wish her to be the next Darna. I don't think it is for young kids though, because some parts are violent, perhaps a PG rating would be fit but I'm not MTRCB.

Chances are this would win the box office, and prolly that Child star thing, the kid here had his own spotlight.

Siargao

It was a feast for the eyes, like watching Instagram filtered film for a few hours. It's very light, like the story. It's also an infomercial, to promote waste management and tourism. Everything is so picturesque, you'll prolly get bitten by the surfing bug even if you don't know how to swim, make friends, and maybe bring life to an ailing relationship. They found themselves in this movie, so apart from expecting great acting from Jericho Rosales and Erich Gonzales in this film, you'll also marvel at their body, and the soft story they wanted you to see.

Whoever did the cinematography and color grading deserve an award.

Larawan

Going to give them a run for their awards is Larawan. I wouldn't be surprised if this won a lot of awards. It's a period film set in either 40's or 50's in old Manila. I fret they had fun interpreting this from Nick Juaquin's piece which was originally done as a stage play. From rat catching, old vaudeville, old maids, old men, old photographs and a legendary painting, it was so much fun to see it in a musical. It's refreshing to see and hear Filipino lyrics, sung beautifully by some of the country's best singers and performers. I also LOVE the tight shots, easing in to serious faces of these characters. I like the story and how they told it in one location.

Joanna Ampil might get a Best Actress nomination, even a win.

The MMFF 2017 movies were just awesome but the comfort I got from watching movies at Ayala Malls Vertis North or any other Ayala Mall for that matter made it all even better. The movie house is just different, it's easily accessible from where I live and food can be brought in. That's not an option in other establishments so if you're planning to see entries from Metro Manila Film Festival 2017, you know where to go!

IMPOSSIBLE Starts Today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum

Monday, December 25, 2017

Impossible is the world’s greatest magic show, ran for 2 years in UK and six magical acts will be here in Manila on Christmas day. Magical Bones, Ali Cook, Chris Cox, Bello Knock, Ben Heart, and Josephine Lee will make you drool over their acts all in different ways. It starts today (CHRISTMAS DAY) and will have two shows at 1PM and 7PM. They will be here until January 3 so if you're looking for good family fun, you shouldn't miss this world class show!

Chris says “I’ve been doing magic since I was 7, but been doing this show for 2 years. We have performed in about 100 countries, we have really performed in front of a lot of audiences.”

Bello adds “We might not have the helicopter but we have other stuff that people hasn’t seen yet. I look like a clutz, I feel like a clutz, people laugh so might as well go with it. They say the fear of being in front of large audiences, being laughed at, I’m doing that for a living now. It’s three death defying stunts that I’ll do in the show so you have to watch out for that.”

Josephine Lee on the other hand was giddy and says “I’m here to have fun and these risks on stage is done to motivate, inspire and make people keep going at what they do.

Ben Heart says “We are looking forward to design a show, high tech magic, dangerous things like fire water and fun, you love Christmas so much that we had to add that in as well. We just would have fun that evening, so we’re looking forward to see you!”

Magic Bones says “We might have bomed a few acts, we just had to go with the flow and improvise. People don’t come to see you go wrong and not according plan and do a new thing if one doesn’t work out. I don’t get scared, I just go into performance mode and play with the audience while I'm here.”

I'm already preparing so I can go later at 7PM so see you at the Araneta Coliseum! :) This is produced by WILBROS.
