Erich, Lovi and Tom for THE SIGNIFICANT OTHER

I have always loved Erich since she started doing shows in ABSCBN. In a way I was rooting for her, both in her work, and her relationships. Like life, it all has ups and downs. She felt real for me, even if she unfollowed me on IG but I don’t mind anymore haha. She remained so nice to me whenever we meet, I’m a fan I admit, and I like what is happening. She worked hard for her body - and now is the opportune time to show it off.

We all like what we see.

In this film though, she’s not the one who gets pitied with because as much as you would want to feel for her character, she’s the other woman. Lovi on the other hand plays the wife, who in a nutshell focused more on her career than her marriage. I don’t see the reason why she should be cursed for that alone but there may have been reasons why Tom Rodriguez would philander. Would that even be justifiable?

Direk Joel Lamangan says “This is the story of a woman who fell in love, and how the significant other woman came into the picture. The title is there as it is what’s written, and we think it is integral to the movie. They are not contented, they are problematic, this storyline has been told so many tines but the only difference is... are these actresses who are the best in their generation. It exists and it happens. Working with Snooky, Dina, and Tom was obviously my favorite part. I just want to see them sincere in creating characters.”

Dina Bonnevie says “I’m a doting mother, who still has care for their kids. A little well off but just like Snooky we’re just looking after our kids. I was so afraid of him in the past but he sets the bar with being real and faking it, he’s very frank but you’ll learn so much to tell me sometimes he doesn’t believe my acting, to be better than the last time. He’s a maestro.”

Ms Snooky says “I learned a lot working with Direk Joel. It’s like I reached the pinnacle of being an actor, I just worry I will fail but he has been so kind with me. I really thank him on how he treats the crew, how important it is to the craft and how he treats everyone. I see so much of Lino Brocka in him. We had a scene with Ms Dina in the bathroom and you’ll love how that will unfold in the movie. It’s something you should look forward to, when I was in underage it was so hard to remove that thought now that we had to work and hurt each other. We had to really do it again because the first take was too soft for him.”

Tom Rodriguez says “I play Dr Santillan and regards himself as the best in his field. Very confident and he gets to sleep with the top models in the industry. He gets his machismo, his confidence from doing these things that are wrong. I had so much fun working with Direk and I am trying not to get freaked out working with him.”

Lovi says “I am a supermodel, wife to Tom. She chose her career over love so she didn’t have time for her husband. I started with Direk and I think he is just an actor’s director. Erich is someone I look up to and if you see her at work, I get to do good scenes because I get it from her. She’s real and very sincere and I am thankful that I got to do that with her.”

Erich adds “She might be poor but is divided into playing this love game with his heart or mind. This is such an opportunity for me, this is also the first time I worked with actors from other networks. My rule number one is not to be number 2, and I think it’s the classy way to do even if you already want to hurt the other party. I love the chance to actually work with Lovi, we’re now good friends.”

Maja Salvador and Tor Saksit Release FALLING INTO YOU

Had a splendid afternoon with Maja Salvador and the Thai composer Tor Saksit. They just released Maja’s single called FALLING INTO YOU that’s now out on digital stores nationwide.

Tor says “We tried to make something different in Karma studios and this was one of the products. We did it in two days, but we had one more day for the music video. To study the song, it wasn’t that long because I wrote this song. We know it was going to be a good material and it’s amazing to do this here. I listen to pop songs, classical and jazz. I think right now I’m into basic pop, some that has beautiful melody so the Asian market would love it. I have released 11 albums in Thailan and have chinese singles too. I go to Taiwan and China to promote my singles. I compose melody and arrange songs, I could do that here. She’s a natural singer and she has experience in acting so that helps a lot bringing emotions out. If I’m offered a movie and my label thinks it’s a good thing I’ll consider it. Maja on the other hand told us how this happened and says “Teacher Annie went with me in Bangkok because I don’t have time to do voice lessons. She gave us her time so we can do this. This song was adjusted for me and lowered the key so it would be smooth. I am greatful to work with his team in Thailan because there were a lot of artists they could have chosen from but they picked me. For me, maybe I just accepted my own voice, tone, real one and in everything you do you just accept what you can do and that’s what happened. This is under IVORY and BEC TERO Music. We have a mall show in Biñan and Robinsons Mall in Bulacan. We have a guesting in Showtime on Monday and tape a few shows too. Please help me and Tor tell people we have a single out, thank you!”

If you love Maja, you’ll love this new music because it doesn’t actually sound like her to tell you honestly. It’s more sultry, which she says is because she’s loving her own voice now, and how she should love her range. She hopes her fans would appreciate it.

Ji Soo in Manila

It looks like more Korean stars are arriving in the country which as of late is one of the actors of Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo and Strong Woman Bo Dong Soon, the man they call Kim Ji Soo. Ji Soo as he’s fondly called arrived today from Korea and is doing a fan meet tomorrow at SM North EDSA’s Sky Dome. If you haven’t gotten tickets yet, you may purchase then at the venue or SM Tickets before they run out!

If you’re a big K Drama fan, you must have seen him in a lot of other series and films as he’s no stranger to the Philippines because he made and indie film a couple years back called Seoul Mates in 2014. He’s done a lot of things afrer that and quirps “I’m only 25 and still have a lot to learn about my craft. I am so excited to work on films with different characters because I learn a lot in the process. As for the perfect date, I’d rather have dinner and eat something that my date would love, just to be someone that has a conncetion with, where we can talk and understand each other, that’s the perfect date for me. I am no singer but I prepared a little something for you which I'll perform during the fan con, I hope you appreciate it.”

“I hope I get to see all my Philippine fans tomorrow because it’s going to be like our Valentines date. The Philippines to me is like home, it’s got that distinct smell like what Korea has for me, it’s like I am very familiar with it.”

Elmo, Janella and Kiko for My Fairy Tail Love Story

When news broke out that Elmo was transferring to ABSCBN I distinctly remember fearing how he would handle his career because I’ve always seen him partnered with singer Julie Anne San Jose. But it looks like ABSCBN had good plans for him and tried a lot of formulas - but it looks like this one with Janella Salvador actually worked. Enough that a huge following followed thereafter, and this partnership is where they’re banking on to also watch the film MY FAIRY TAIL LOVE STORY.

This will happen on February 14, a nice time to actually be with someone over a very promising plot much like the famous Little Mermaid piece which has been done countless times, so many different ways in different countries. This mermaid film however is fun, playing with the thought of falling in love with one guy when there’s actually another one who really cares for you. You’ve probably watched a couple of films produced and directed by Perci Intalan and know how he’s been able to interpret these stories outstandingly, so I and most of the people who know him expect even more in this installment.

Janella says "Swimming like this requires training because the tail is heavy and I couldn't just swim the normal way. At first when it was pitched to me I was already imagining things, I was shocked I was going to do it and I feel very blessed this is happening. We were swimming once and we used adhesive but I felt it was slipping, I felt it was off. So I immediately asked for them to stop filming and covered myself. Elmo was already bleeding in one scene but he didn't complain, he was that good and dedicated. Elmo and I really got to know each other more, we learned a lot of things about each other even if we were different from characters. We need to concentrate on work. I had claustrophobia, I was so nervous but I saw the scenes and it was so nice under there, I wanted to become a mermaid after that. Moana and this is different, when I met them it was a high, but this one had me be overwhelmed, I get humbled."

Kiray adds "I'm like the frenemy here but I'm inlove with Elmo, who wouldn't like to be paired with him and Kiko. You must watch Elmo and my scenes because it's different. We prepared for it, and I was always asking for him to come out and I hope the fans don't take me seriously because I'll be all over Elmo. Comparing Elmo to Kian, Enchong or Derek, I think I'm more into Enchong, I feel Derek is my Tito. Enchong kissed like he was going to eat my eyes."

Elmo says "I felt Kiray wasn't really acting anymore. I now appreciate what scuba divers do, it's so beautiful down there and really diving that deep I understand why they do it."

Kiko adds "The cast loves each other, that's why we are always bonding. We had to make the threat believable, something not realistic because anything can happen in a tale. I asked Direk what I could do because I'm not really a singer, but I trust the Director."

Direk Perci says “Janella is a born Disney Princess whilst Elmo is a very spirited singer. Both of them on screen will be a treat because they complement each other. You’ll love how they’ll be on screen and feel they’re meant for each other. Ours would be a different mermaid story, in the hopes that if you see Janella, Elmo and Kiko on screen, you wouldn’t forget them and experience their love story. I was blessed with a very dedicated cast, their energy was just different especially Kiray at 3AM. I was really happen that what I wanted to envision for the film happened. I guess even if it's already told so many times, we had the chance to tell it differently, I would have wanted her to sing the whole time but they played around thinking about what new things we could inject from it. The core of it is a happily ever after, a love story, but a bit more complicated. I feel it's already good that the ones who watch the teaser actually appreciate it. It has to be animated, even if it's not a cartoon. It's not a coffee table story, it is just inspired but totally a different story. This is a different time.”

They also will be with Dimples Romana, Dominic Ochoa, Kakai Bautista and a whole lot more. It’s also rates G so you can bring kids along, it has some elements of fantasy of course. It is Graded B by the cinema evaluation board so you’ll love it on Valentines day!
