Wednesday, July 11, 2018

Call it crazy, but it's their time. Yes GMA's homegrown talented boyband One Up will finally be having their first major concert called "All In One Up" at the SM Skydome - SM North Edsa in Quezon City.

We saw them all in action this afternoon at Puradak Chicken in Timog Avenue where they held their press conference for the said event. This will be produced by Glon Prestige Productions and will be directed by Marvin Caldito. Their choreography will be done by Mark Benzon Pelota. I'm sure everyone is looking forward to their awesome covers, their new single SMILE plus tons of surprise guests. We heard artists like my boy Migo Adecer, Karlo Duterte, Sofia Pablo, Will Ashley and vixen Andrea Torres will be there so if I were you, I'd get tickets as soon as now!

You'll get to see them sing and dance, all in the flesh, make Kevin Sagra, Nikki Co, Brent Valdez, Joemarie Nielsen, Arjan Jimenez, Ralf King, Prince Clemente, Yasser Marta. Jay Arcilla and Dave Bornea serenade you just in that one night.

Yasser says "You'll get to see our different genres while we also sing group songs which you'll all love!"

Nikki Co adds "We'll have three on three battles, a capella, music, solo performances, all something different. We chose our songs, we met just for that."

Prince Clemente says "Our friendship started in starstruck, we fight like normal people but we still go back to gym the same way, we go to shows and bond when we can."

Kevin Sagra says "I am looking forward to the solos because that's where we will show our talent even more!"

Joe Marie adds "We workout, stay away from vices and get addicted to diet and gym just for this show."

Jay Arcilla on the other hand says "We workout because we may have topless parts, you'll get to see us in our best form. We also have the same type of girls." he said in jest.

Ralf King says "We want the truth, we can sing and dance live so we are giving that to the people. We want them to experience that."

Dave Bornea says "As of now we are getting more ideas for the show, we will be doing different things than what I did in Oh Boy Oh Lol so you have to watch out for that."

Tickets are worth Php 1,600 and is now available at SM Tickets. Go get them now!

Abbygale Arenas de Leon for 88 Things Every Professional Should Know...Or Else!

Tuesday, July 10, 2018

She's 1997's Miss Universe Philippines and she has not let off since those days. Being a stalwart and authority of personality development in the Philippines, she has made headway in doing workshops, seminars, talks that result in makin sure the Filipino executives won't be left behind by our Southeast Asian neighbors - and the rest of the world.

True enough, we saw a very pleasing Abbygale during the press conference this afternoon and she says "This is a revised book, a second edition that delves about Etiquette and Poise. It takes 7 seconds to get a first impression, 7% for words, 38% for tone, 55% non verbal. The way we carry ourselves is essential, so is a smile, positivity, happy thoughts everywhere we go. Start with saying the letter A or the number 8, that is the best smile. Practice it in front of the mirror. If you do this every morning for two weeks, you'll get that smile. It's a little painful, but muscle memory is like that, it makes everyone look better. It makes you sound pleasant, it is infectious too. You need to also correct your posture, your neck, shoulders, legs and lower back. There is also the Forward Lean, it makes people feel important, words are not enough, looking is not enough, offering both your shoulders and face gives sincerity. So is eye contact and poise. Poise is about controlled action, it's a choice, you will have it if you decide to. When you feel good, you'll look good and feel better. If you challenge yourself and succeed doing that, it's personality development. 88 Things Every Proffesional Should Know... Or Else! is available in all National Bookstore and Powerbooks outlets nationwide!"

She adds "I only have this book but I want it to be my legacy, I hope this would help a lot of people because eversince pageant times - posture alone has improved a lot of people, simple things like smiling it changes the psyche. I have worn a lot of hats, I think it's my passion of sharing my self. I saw how we lost everything, whatever we have now we just enjoy it. We have to wear our favorite items, bring out the things on your closet because it's not just for special occasions, we make special moments happen. Also, taking care of yourself is important because you will be the one fighting out there. Beauty Queens can wear their crowns only for a year, but every woman can wear their crown in their hearts all the time."

I also asked her about how to not burn up while working and she advised how to take a proper vacation. If you file leave at work, it shouldn't go to fixing the house, it should be quality time to travel unless you want to go back and be haggard when you arrive at work. She also says it is wise to get off social media too, to disconnect and focus on time spent with family and friends.

I believe her and her passion, I learned a lot in the few minutes I spent with her this afternoon and I'm sure you will too when you get to read her book. It is also available in leading bookstores, Shoppee and Lazada so if you want it sent in the comforts of your home, it's that easy.

Congratulations on your book Ms. Abby!

Teejay Marquez Thankful for Indonesian Career, Ready for Manila

Monday, July 09, 2018

A happy, perky and good looking Teejay Marquez greeted us at a press conference held in Quezon City a few days ago. He's back in the country first and foremost to take good care of his Grandmother who's been suffering kidney failure and plans to continue to work in Manila so he could provide for her as well. The young man has been able to have a great career in Indonesia after his viral videos drew so much love in that part of Southeast Asia.

If you haven't heard of Teejay Marquez in social media, you must have been under a rock. He's gotten so much attention when he got his Dubsmash videos viral in Indonesia where he has set foot early 2016. Suffice to say, he's a household name in Jakarta. During that stint, he got offers to star in Dubsmash The Movie, some tv series, tons of interviews and had a promising career presenting himself from the Philippines. He joined ALV Talent Circuit under Arnold Vegafria in August 2017 and Regal Entertainment.

In 2017, Teejay also starred in Siapa Takut Katij Cinta (Who's Afraid to Fall In Love?) which was their version of hit Asian series Meteor Garden. He wasn't able to do Manila based projects because of it. He also went to Malaysia, Hong Kong, and launch his own mobile phone app. When they did the launch for this mobile phone app in Indonesia, they flew the winner to Manila all expense paid and had a date with Teejay here. He's that big in that country. He is launching this soon in Manila together with a partnership with a telecom company which will be announced soon.

He also has a new movie directed by Adolf Alix Jr. which we'll be lookong forward to see. Here's our video interview with him that afternoon.

He is currently being managed by ALV Talent Circuit, so please be ready for him as he conquers Manila too. He's optimistic to have quite a few projects here (we saw him having photos with ABSCBN Executives recently) and hopefully have a dent in Philippine showbusiness sooner than you think!

Belkin Unleashes New Wireless Charging Pads at Power Mac Center

Friday, July 06, 2018

Spent the afternoon at the Power Mac Center branch in Powerplant Mall in Rockwell.

Belkin has been in the industry since 1983. Producing products and accessories that makes live better, they added more today at Power Mac Center. PMC's Marketing Director Joey Alvarez says "We made sure we provide better third party accessories such as Belkin in our stores. Today we are launching new technologies, Belkin Wireless Charging Pads, Belkin TrueClearPro 2, to make our lives easier."

Victor Reyes of Belkin adds "Belkin is a family, from Belkin International. We have 4 brands Belkin, WeMo, Linksys and Phyn. WeMo is for home automation, home security, a pioneer under the wemo brand. Linksys does soho networking devices. Phyn is for intelligent water solutions which can notify you for leaks and technologies about it, Belkin does good accessories. We have partnered with Apple so we could do 7.5W wireless charging, but now we have a new one which can do 10W. We won design awards consistently, we are launching 2 of them today."

Jenny from Belkin HK says "The iPhone X and iPhone 8 wireless charging has been talked about 5x when it was launchex. It's convenient, clean, sleek and would save you from seeing clutter for cables. You don't have to have 2 cables too because you can charge both phones on iOS or Android in one go. Plugging in on usb ports is also a security risk, this makes it totally safe and is beneficial when you do wireless charging. These new products from Belkin are Qi Certified. It's safe from overheating, less risk of device damage, and now is good as it is Lithium Ion batteries in most phones. The BOOST UP Wireless Charging Pads support 5, 7, 9 and 10W. The 9/10W is being released July/August (today), later this year we will have car chargers (car port/window mount) that support the same. Every device will have an extended 3 year warranty."

"The TrueClear Pro system on the other hand is where protection meets precision. When you purchase one in partner stores, we install them for free. 90 percent of people want screen protector right after they buy a phone. It's slow, it's hard and expensive. This is why we designed the TrueClear Pro System so it can be installed in a few minutes. Store associates have been using this worldwide, it is now available in Power Mac Center in the Philippines."

Now I'm sure you've had your share of horror stories with third party accessories, but Belkin is licensed, has been doing this for years. If their awards and recognitions for design doesn't convince you to purchase premium products from Belkin and their subsidiaries, I don't know what will.

I know they know how to make these things, they're pretty good at it.
