I Can Sing In Japanese 2018 on GEM

Thursday, August 09, 2018

There's something to look forward to this coming week on GEM TV Asia aka GEM. All the Anime and Japanese show you love will be here, including the recent I CAN SING IN JAPANESE 2018 episode where our Filipino trio of Michael David Bodin, Bernard Palad and Girltrends Krissha Viaje joined the competition as Philippine All Stars.

Tony Belle of Animax and Gem “GEM used to be an Asian Entertainment channel. We got so much content now on our Japanes portfolio, we have Anime now and is available in the Philippines. It is available in SkyCable Silver and add ons. I CAN SING IN JAPANESE 2018 is an annual contest done NipponTV, now we have on ground and online auditions. Krissha joined in 2017 and represented the country, she was sent to Japan to compete. She didn’t win that time but have rejoined in 2018 with a team and that’s how they won.”

Krissha Viaje says “It wasn’t my first time, I auditioned in Singapore back then but didn’t win. I joined two guys as a team and we lived in different places, one was in Kyoto, one in Saitama, and me in Manila. I didn’t know how to speak Japanese but got exposed to Anime and that got me interested in Japanese music. It felt easy for me to sing that way after doing that. Before we did sing our own choice of songs but they suggested one song and we self studied. We only had two days to rehearse, but we were so glad to have been able to do that. I barely speak Japanese, it’s very hard but I did try and study it. I just listened to it over and over, they were really super nice and asked me if I had issues with diction and words, I was so confident with them. I didn’t have the chance to actually sing in Showtime and usually only dance, this was just an opportunity that I couldn’t pass. I enjoy dancing don’t get me wrong but I would really love for my singing career to start. I wouldn’t mind if I would be given an opportunity also in Japan, it just depends on how it will be talked about in the contract.”

The show is interesting and unique, only foreigners are allowed to join and the Philippines is one of them. This started in 2011 and has been shown bi-annual in spring and fall. It will be shown in the Philippines this August 12 7:30PM on GEM TV Asia. That's Channel 116 on SkyCable and Channel 129 on Cignal.

Make sure you root for the Philippines as our trio tries to get that championship, watch them win!

Meet GOJU

Wednesday, August 08, 2018

Fruits are in season, and so am I LoL - there is no better way to enjoy it than having it in a juice drink - especially those good ones that you often feel you couldn't live without. I often go with the tangy - more natural tasting ones which are out in the market - and I've always wanted to taste the new ones because I find it challenging, so I could discover more varities of it from other parts of the country, or the world!

Good thing I don't have to travel and spend thousands of dollars to do that. You see, I've just discovered GOJU Natural Fruit Infusion Juice at the supermarket and tried it today for size. The neat colorful animal label lead me to believe that each one of these cans have their own personality. It's got 5 flavors to be exact, like the owl represents the GOJU Lemonade Juice Drink, healthy, fresh, tangy and has got Vitamin C. The bear represents GOJU Mango and Orange Juice Drink, it combines the lovely fruity notes of Oranges, Mangoes and Passion Fruit, perfect for a sunny day. The horse represents the GOJU Raspberry Lemonade which tastes much like crushed Raspberries and fresh lemonade mixed together. It feels light and fresh, it'll clean you up too and promote better blood circulation they say, that's just awesome! The turtle on the other hand is for the GOJU Peach Passion Fruit Juice Drink. It's a mix of white peach, passion fruit, pineapple, lemon and a dose of Vitamin C, your healthy active life still needs a boost and this gives that!

GOJU Raspberry Lemonade for those who want it a little fancy.

The lion is on the GOJU Orange Juice Drink, it'll remind you of that fresh orange juice you love after a game or special occasion. It helps hydrate, like what I did right after I have done so many things earlier while covering events in Manila. It's sweet and lovely, you'll hunt for this flavor too - I won't mind if you hoard too! Just make sure you give this to your friends and family though, they'll love this I'm sure.

So happy they had the GOJU White Peach Passion Fruit, they will prolly make people talk about it, this is so good.

For each one in the family, there is one flavor variant of GOJU that you can drink. If I were you I'd try it out soon as it's currently available in Landmark and Anson's in Manila, then CSI Supermarket in the towns and cities in the north. You may visit GOJU Drinks on Facebook, @gojudrinks on Twitter and IG.

Now doesn't that all make you want to grab a glass with ice, pour this all in and enjoy it while watching the golden hour? Exactly! If I liked it all, you will too!

Ericsson Philippines Celebrates 30th with 5G

It’s Ericsson Philippines 30th Anniversary and what better way to showcase how they make life easy but with good new 5G Technology. The primary goal is how this can transmit 23 Gbps in their 5G trial technology, a thing that could get up to US$ 1.8 Billion revenue potential in the Philippines come 2026.

Nunzio Mirtillo Ericsson’s Head of Market Area for East Asia, Oceania and India says “You have to invest in technology in order to take the lead. Data traffic is increasing dramatically, going faster than expected and it is true in Southeast Asia. 5G in North America has about 50% of the subscriptions, we need 5G in the long run. We have new trials around the world and 5G must be learned, we will also go commercial quickly. Mobile broadband is basic, it will help operators make revenue around it. Traffic in the Philippines will grow 8x and we need to see technology go up while getting costs down. The massive IOT can change business models, it is obviously good to have it. We have to work with operators and start testing technology. The spectrum also should be available so free trials, inter operability tests, we also need to have competent people on the ground. The government should also be well prepared and have 5G available for the country. We celebrate this all, as we have been doing good for 30 years.”

Joachim Horn of Smart, John Terrenal of ABSCBN, Edward Chou of Intel and Martin Wiktorin of Ericsson Philippines

This is just the start of opportunities, it’s not just faster speeds, but the communication between points, 5G will be the first standard that will have enterprise lines. If we do not seize it, we’ll get left by the train. We will be doing this ahead of the others together with Japan and South Korea.

Driveless cars, remote surgeries, AR and VR applications, the possibilities are endless. Having this ecosystem needs to be done in the next few years. They need to renovate networks and hopefully they would be able to do this come 2020.

Mr. Mirtillo also adds “Thank you to our partners, our customers, the government who made things easy for us to do business here in the Philippines.”

Congratulations Ericsson!

7 Reasons Why You Should Watch “ANG BABAENG ALLERGIC SA WIFI”

Monday, August 06, 2018

Pretty good, very young and relevant.

Just like my previous movie posts, I don’t want to spoil things for you but I like what I saw in the movie ANG BABAENG ALLERGIC SA WIFI. Here are 6 good reasons to watch the film, I would recommend this to romance fanatics, it’s full of that and a LOT of HUGOT lines in between (not the old kind).

1. MUSIC - The music selection is SO GOOD, too good that I’ll buy if they have it on streaming apps.

2. THE EYES - Sue Ramirez has always been gorgeous, her eyes is a dead giveaway. There’s something about her, her soft features, very likeable personality makes her so good on romantic films.

3. ROMANCE - Jameson Blake is good looking, has flawless skin, and cracked up jokes about shoutouts during the screening. Aries felt like him, toned down geek, hopeless romantic. He did good. The situations of romance in this film would make you understand that even in love, lies and deception are included.

4. BUTTERFLIES - His confessions on love felt sincere, how he hurts and realizations. You’ll have butterflies in your stomach. Maybe your shoulders.

5. NEW ACTOR - Markus Paterson is a revelation, it’s my first time seeing him but he’s a good chap. Good looks, acting, singing, I bet he’s going places. Though tis a good thing seeing them raw, as this is his first film.

6. SHORT (stint) BUT SWEET VILLAIN - Adrianna So has done two movies this month, character roles done impeccably well. She’s evil and conniving in this film, so be careful if you see her on the scenes.

7. INSTAGRAM WORTHY - This might be the first time Cignal Entertainment, Octobertrain Films and Ideafirst Company has produced a film together, but boy it looks good. It’s a light romantic drama film but you’ll love the shots, much like that Siargao movie, it’s like Instagram on steroids.

Is it worth to watch? Definitely, because you still want to dream of love, to hope, to still believe in it even if circumstances make your nose bleed. To filter things in your life; fake news and all, to confirm the realness of the feelings, so if this is the foundation of your relationship, you won’t have to waste each other’s time. Do not curse me for not spoilin the ending, you need to watch it to see why.

This movie is an entry for Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2018 which will run from August 15-21, 2018. This is also directed by the award winnig Jun Lana. Again, it’s worthy to watch.

I love this for it’s merits, it’s Graded A by the cinema evaluation board with good reason. Trust me on that.
