ORLY Says Hi To Philippines

Friday, August 10, 2018

Missed this event but it doesn’t stop us from telling you about it.

I’m sure the ladies would appreciate something new, something about that one thing they go to salons for, it’s their nails. I received an invitation a couple weeks ago about ORLY, have you heard about them? I’m sure you do.

They are a nail care brand from LA, and just a few days ago started a campaign called “Strength in Color”, to which they recognised some extraORLYnary women in the Philippines to represent who they are in the industry, some pretty good ones in fact.

By the way, SprintAsia is the exclusive official distributor of ORLY in the Philippines. If you are into nail polish that’s  matte, gel or classic ones, ORLY is your best bet. They also have breathable types, animal cruelty free process, halal certified and some vegan types too. They have been doing this since 1975 so obviously they’ve got the experience to back them up.
They also showed us a thing or two about nail art and the advancements in this particular segment in nail care, they scoured the country and announced a winner that evening.

Tim Yap, Shaira Luna, Sanya Smith, Ornusa Cadness, SprintAsia General Manager Ms. Persie Torregoza, Ms. Georginna Desuasido, Ms. Soleil Ignacio, Ms. Abbey Sy, ORLY International Brand Ambassador Ms. Amy Oung, SprintAsia Vice President Ms. Jennifer Yap and SprintAsia President Mr. Paul Yap

Tim Yap hosted the talk with Abbey Sy, Soleil Ignacio, Georginna Desuasido, Sanya Smith, Ornusa Cadness and Shaira Luna. I guess they wanted the empowered women to represent them in the country, I couldn’t agree more.

You may purchase their products from Pure Beauty, online store ZALORA, also from Watsons, Landmark, Robinsons malls, Cash & Carry, ICM, PCX, Lazada and BeautyMNL. You may also directly get in touch with then in case you need a lot via SPRINT ASIA LOGISTICS, INC by calling +63922 8065633 or their email address b2b@sprintasiabeauty.com

Nailed it!

Easy Ticketing Services from Ticket2Me

This is the first time I've heard of them but being in the theatre scene for quite a while pretty much have made me see some of their services are being used by companies already. The deal is, this is fully owned and operated by Filipinos, yes this is TICKET2ME.NET, a easy ticketing service that takes the long process of buying, verification and ease of production in one go. This could practically take production costs down, scientifically make data useable and sensible, then make the whole buying process just as easy as buying a cup of coffee. Tickets online can now be purchased and scanned with QR Codes, then all people have to do is watch shows whenever, wherever. I guess it prolly stemmed from experience and necessity, like any start of invention.

Darwin Mariano the Founder and CEO of Ticket2Me says “I fell in love with theatre a long time ago, I watched with a couple of friends and enjoyed it quite much with my lunch money. To keep watching, we resold tickets for the show and pooled funds for it. We started buying shows and became successful, but we couldn’t roll over our funds to another show and didn’t get producers to shell out that much during those years and fell short with funds. My love for theatre though continued and gambled years later on before doing it again. In 2013 we did Maxi the musical and adapted this original play on stage, it was a hit and sold out, plus more after that. I realized the platforms were not built to help me, this is why the event ticketing platform Ticket2Me.net has been put up. This is just one part of it, the other is an even more convenient platform without the need of credit card. This is expansive because of payment outlets like pawnshops and convenience stores, now you can do it in the comforts of your home. Ticket2Me has data and analytics, a robust environment also for organizers so they know how much they have earned, registrations, download all the data and see how they progress. This one can pre market tickets, show data and get tickets that people can pay conveniently. Our sales growth without even launching is 400%, and we made technology do the legwork. We are also working on dynamic pricing dependent on producer reasons if they just want to make the theatre full. It’s the realtime accounting of all tickets to make it seamless. Hopefully in the next few months it will serve more in the event community.”

James Mendoza the Co Founder and CTO “To track data, we use blockchain to see how buying tickets, to track the successful payments, reversals, payments to see how all the real ones push through to enable us logging this data privately.”

We also talked about the possibility of them encountering competition and they're pretty confident about how they have presented their app giving Producers much needed services compared to other ticket service sites plus the openness to also work with them instead of them "stealing ideas" from Ticket2me.net if they can't beat what they do. Makes so much sense because the market is so big especially in entertainment industry. There are tons of concerts, theatre shows, musicals, cultural tours, the list goes on. They are also doing improvements to make everything seamless and all they charge for every ticket selling is 10 percent. I am impressed on how they're doing business, take every stride seriously because they've done this before and learned from mistakes.

If you want to get acquainted with the latest shows, take it easy with buying tickets, or a production who wants them tickets to be sold, you know where to go. Oh and yes, data is big nowadays, you need that for business and understanding the market, things you need for success.

I Can Sing In Japanese 2018 on GEM

Thursday, August 09, 2018

There's something to look forward to this coming week on GEM TV Asia aka GEM. All the Anime and Japanese show you love will be here, including the recent I CAN SING IN JAPANESE 2018 episode where our Filipino trio of Michael David Bodin, Bernard Palad and Girltrends Krissha Viaje joined the competition as Philippine All Stars.

Tony Belle of Animax and Gem “GEM used to be an Asian Entertainment channel. We got so much content now on our Japanes portfolio, we have Anime now and is available in the Philippines. It is available in SkyCable Silver and add ons. I CAN SING IN JAPANESE 2018 is an annual contest done NipponTV, now we have on ground and online auditions. Krissha joined in 2017 and represented the country, she was sent to Japan to compete. She didn’t win that time but have rejoined in 2018 with a team and that’s how they won.”

Krissha Viaje says “It wasn’t my first time, I auditioned in Singapore back then but didn’t win. I joined two guys as a team and we lived in different places, one was in Kyoto, one in Saitama, and me in Manila. I didn’t know how to speak Japanese but got exposed to Anime and that got me interested in Japanese music. It felt easy for me to sing that way after doing that. Before we did sing our own choice of songs but they suggested one song and we self studied. We only had two days to rehearse, but we were so glad to have been able to do that. I barely speak Japanese, it’s very hard but I did try and study it. I just listened to it over and over, they were really super nice and asked me if I had issues with diction and words, I was so confident with them. I didn’t have the chance to actually sing in Showtime and usually only dance, this was just an opportunity that I couldn’t pass. I enjoy dancing don’t get me wrong but I would really love for my singing career to start. I wouldn’t mind if I would be given an opportunity also in Japan, it just depends on how it will be talked about in the contract.”

The show is interesting and unique, only foreigners are allowed to join and the Philippines is one of them. This started in 2011 and has been shown bi-annual in spring and fall. It will be shown in the Philippines this August 12 7:30PM on GEM TV Asia. That's Channel 116 on SkyCable and Channel 129 on Cignal.

Make sure you root for the Philippines as our trio tries to get that championship, watch them win!
