Rocco Nacino and Pancho Magno Does Health Shows on GNTV

Friday, January 04, 2019

Rocco Nacino and Pacho Magno are very fine actors from GMA Network. You give them a role, they do above and beyond what is asked for them. I am so proud to see the fruits of their labor, especially Rocco who’s already starting to build his dream house - a thing he’s been planning all these years and he is personally attending to it whilst doing several shows in the Kapuso Network. Pancho Magno on the other hand did handy work of several fantasy series (like Victor Magtanggol) and villain character roles - whilst freshly married to gorgeous Max Collins from the same network. This time though, these gentlemen are donning their real life hats, bith are health professionals and registered nurses. Surprised?

The two are hosting new health related TV shows in partnership with the Department of Health. Pancho Magno will be with his wife Max Collins to host Healthily Ever After to discuss family health topics like planning, maternal care, safe motherhood, newborn care, breastfeeding, immunization and adolescent health care. Rocco on the other hand will be doing The Healthy Juan which discusses mental health, depression, healthy aging and organ donation. Here’s our short interview with the good looking guys from GMA:

Healthily Ever After will show 5:30PM every Saturday whilst The Healthy Juan starts at 8PM every Sunday, go follow GMA Artist Center channels so you can get updates on their topics every week!

ONE UP's Prince Clemente Goes Sexy for Boardwalk

ONE UP, GMA's home grown boy group has always been so nice to me and I adore them as individuals. They have been scouring provinces through shows, singing and dancing gigs which has occupied most of their schedules last 2018.

For those who don't know, the guys actually don't perform as a complete group sometimes as they are quite a lot. They love singing so in a way they can hold their own horse if they need to perform individually. No, they won't be breaking up soon but Prince Clemente got a big break as he does the underwear line for Boardwalk, so this would be something more matured than usual. As he mentions this wouldn't be a success that he wouldn't be sharing with his group because they will all be part of the Boardwalk family once again this year as they go around the country with their special campaigns and tours. They are all excited about it so listen in to our interview with the boy group.

Suffice to say, he has it!

So make sure you watch out for more things with Ralph King, Brent Valdez, Yasser Marta, Kevin Sagra, Jay Arcilla, Dave Bornea, Nikki Co, Prince Clemente and Joemarie Nielsen because they'll be bringing their A game whenever there's a need to do so for ONE UP this 2019! Follow GMA Artist Center's social media channels to keep updated with the group's activities.

Jose Manalo as BOY TOKWA

Jose Manalo in his first lead role as Boy Tokwa

You've been hearing about it all over social media, Eat Bulaga and just about every show they are in right after the holidays. This is the first salvo of VST Productions owned by Tito Sotto and they are putting their bets on one guy alone, Jose Manalo. The comedian was hand picked to play the role of Rodrigo Morales also known as Boy Tokwa, a street smart, real life Robinhood who hailed from Olongapo City in Pampanga.

Jose Manalo says "When you hear him talk, he is a genius, but he is a swindler, not to Filipinos but foreigners. His earnings actually go to Amerasians, elderly, we used artists from Olongapo too so I had to adjust doing this role. I am trying this out, I never imagined I will be the lead but if it is going to be a hit, then we will have more. You know Tito Sen plans ahead and I think we have done this to the best of our abilities. I am so glad too that Direk Tony is here, and he doesn't send out films that are not of quality. This is true to life but I didn't read scripts, they gave me freedom to tell the story but attack the funny stuff with my own humor."

He adds "The real Boy Tokwa acts like Chiquito, so in a way I had some person to base it from. I had to put old timer moves because it is a period film. All I did was how he would feel, how hurtful things would be and I didn't think of it that much. I do not do drama on a normal day but his story will just be hurtful, you will relate to him. I do lenten presentations and do drama there with a lot of artists, but here, I am alone and I had to do stuff that I don't normally do. I didn't choose leading ladies, Direk Tony chose, I just saw her picture and asked when the shooting will start. If you are given trust to carry a film on your shoulders, you will have pressure. I always put value on the trust they give me and I relate on how he tries to live getting by on non formal work, and people should watch this just on the basis of how he puts importance on his kid."

Director Tony Reyes says "Jose and I have worked already in the past but I know how he feels when he's thinking if he can do this or not. But seeing the bloggers who have seen the screening earlier, they were crying and felt for the character. I think that already speaks about how much he has performed in doing this film."

Here is a short video we made during the media conference earlier.

Now make sure you head on to theaters this January 8 as Boy Tokwa Lodi ng Gapo shows on theaters nationwide!

Take a Look at Samira Gutoc

Wednesday, January 02, 2019

Honestly, I feel iffy when talking about politicians, I kinda do shy away from that topic because it is severely polarized, people get in trouble just by mentioning names and stuff, no joke. You’ll be called terms you wouldn’t like hearing, but this particular article isn’t placed here to convince you, merely tell you why I’m voting for her in the next elections. I am saying that with a straight face.

In the past few years, I have been hooked in current events, debate shows and programs where the youth ought to be represented. I used to see her laden with the hijab on her head, confidently speaking on political and social issues, using her voice for the greater good. I was surprised to see a glimpse of her in the restaurant where we had lunch, apparently she’s running for a senate seat in the upcoming elections. Yes, she’s running under the opposition slate even if she’s served a couple of years under this regime. Here’s part of our interview with her on video:

To put it simply, she’s a Mom, a fighter, a volunteer and a legislator from one of the most marginalized sectors in the country. She has witnessed how it is first hand to beholden to crisis and felt how it is on ground to help not just her people in Marawi but the different regions in Mindanao. She has a stellar educational background, best of all, she wants to help. I have also seen people in her staff who has gone above and beyond their regular corporate positions and threw it all away because they believe in her, maybe that accounts for something so we could give not just Mindanao but mothers, people like her to start formulating laws that would directly affect them in a national level.

Maybe it’s time you take a look at Samira Gutoc, I know I will.
