Friday, June 21, 2019

Philam Life went to its roots and today they are introducing a new product to stay ahead, to have an edge over critical illness. The product is called the AIA Critical Protect 100. It lays focus on living a healthier life. Critical Illness cost 2Million Pesos on average and that is hard for anyone to put up. Now Philam Life covers 0 to 100 years old, 100 kinds of critical illnesses, Gender Specific Recovery benefit plus more on Philam Vitality. Usually coverages are for 18 to 65, but now they do it for children and people beyond 76 years old. For Nico Bolzico, he needs to spend 113 pesos per day for the next 20 years. This is for a total of 2 Million coverage. Face Amount is 1M, Minor CI benefit 250K, Gender Specific Cancer Benefit 500K, and Recovery Benefit 500K.

“We are celebrating AIA’s 100 years and two years ago we promised to have Filipinos have better and healthier life. We are the country’s protection advocate.”

“We want to renew our commitment now that we are on our 72nd year in the Philippines. The vitality program changed the discussion to live better and healthier. Knowing your health, improving it, and rewarding the behavior to be in the Vitality program. This year we are strengthening about promoting protection, when we launched Critical Protect, we asked ourselves why these products are coming in. Having this is just going to give you peace of mind, it is key to live healthier. Even if you sleep you get points. AIA CRITICAL PROTECT is now being launched so you can get 100% out of life.”

Will Dasovich says “I went through a lot, with Stage 3 colon cancer and in 6 months of chemotherapy and surgery, I learned a lot. I think the emphasis goes to the what our purpose is, how do we all make a difference in this world? Mine is entertainment, influencing someone to be happy, so many things in life, to continue living even if I was diagnosed. It was the hardest, but I knew in some way I was making a difference in someone else’s life. It made me happy to see people relate. When you’re confronted with that, you get support with the people you love. Now I spend so much time with my family, we get so caught up and forget to spend time with the people you love. Having that on a daily basis, it was nostalgic, we got to go on roadtrips again, have fun, made me value moments that much more with my family. For those battling something, take it one step at a time. The pain might beat you down but regardless, mentally and emotionally be stable and try to understand what you can control. If you do that then you will be content and happy.”

Raymond Gutierrez says “For me the best tool is the Philam Vitality App. I am a go getter, I challenge myself but here it is easy to earn points so you get habits walking around, it is a pillar of being healthy. Even to sleep, you need 8-10 hours to have your mind rested. The new members will have Philam Vitality review, to know how you are ready for this. A nutrition assessment, vitality check for cheap, then you will know how you can get better. I was thinking about it but I always thought about it, I started late, but it has given me a new lease on life.”

They are celebrating with the AIA 100 Run on June 30 so you can be with Team Mond, Team Nico, Team Will and Team Solenn at the Mall of Asia Grounds. For details you may go to their social media channels, download the Philam Vitality App on the App Store or Google Play.

HOOQ Does FREE PLAY

Thursday, June 20, 2019

There’s so much more with HOOQ as the app makes you choose with a click of a button with Book Free, one month FREE festival until July 21. With some of the best indie and mainstream film makers, you would be able to watch it for the whole month starting tomorrow without the need to register on the platform. This was announced this evening during the FREE PLAY event at the Mac Power Center at Circuit Makati.

Hooq Free is an innovation as they add FREE content in short or long form on the app. This festival is only from June 21 to July 20 and it includes 1000+ movies in it. They want to eliminate too many steps, less privacy concerns too. It’s a taste of what HOOQ is only for this month. The Hooq FREE has short form contents, some originals, tons of content from the Philippines, other Asian countries and even Hollywood. There is a spotlight on some of your favorite movies, pick up and download the app if you’re up to it. They also have an original Margie Holmes show on the platform that would be very educational. Some movies will star your favorite actors and actresses and we saw them during the event live!

They took a lot of learnings from Filipino habits during the 4 years they have been here and they have a network of content creators to bring in content from recent movies, even those in the pipeline.

They are not completely free, just some, but it will give a glimpse of what they offer and if you do via 59 pesos a week, you’ll get even more. Not all are supported by ads even on FREE so you can get something to entertain you, air as is with parental controls of course on some of it because John Wick isn’t for everyone lol.

Dingdong Dantes Endorses MESA Filipino Moderne Restaurant

MESA has been our go to restaurant for modern Filipino dishes for a couple of years now. I particularly love their Tomas Morato branch which I frequent to when I have visiting friends and family. We also do press conferences and small events here plus it is very near my place so I have a bit of a personal affinity with it. Today is special because aside from celebrating the restaurant’s success, prime actor and kapuso leading man Dingdong Dantes will be the place’s face for all their branding needs.

Eric Dee says “This is a milestone for the MESA family, it prides me to look back at what we have achieved. Now we have 50 stores around the country, and this year we want to have 100. We need to accelerate this so we have one person in mind to have in our group, this is Dingdong Dantes.”

Dong says “There will be activities and it is in the plans, there will be a photoshoot soon so you’ll see my face in every item in Mesa. I want to reserve branch number 68 or perhaps a joint venture at the new Ayala Bay. We are looking to have a commercial on TV, perhaps social media and digital assets. We might do that soon and I’m excited! Marian goes to a nearby branch and studies the menu, cooks it at home and perhaps she’ll have her dishes on the menu.”

He adds “We all strive to be our best, this brand has the same core values. My favorite is the Baby Squid in Olive Oil. It caters to Filipino families, in an enhanced styling way. Filipinos who live abroad, our OFW’s would find it still homey. This is one brand where the owners are very hands on, there’s love put into it and it represents something I believe in. We want it authentic, with a little creativity and that’s MESA. I will not disappoint you, I want to be with you also to go to 100 stores soon!”

Present at the occasion was the Talent Manager Perry Lansigan, Raymond Federigan the Director of National Operations for Foodee Global Concepts, Eric Dee their Chief Operating Officer and Rikki Dee their Chief Executive Officer.

Currently, they have this Mesa Filipino Moderne, FoodLink, Sunnies Cafe, Flatterie, Food, Hawker Chan, Kam’s Roast, Llao Llao, Pound by Todd English, The Food Hall, Tim Ho Wan, Tsuta Japanes Noodles, and co created Bench Cafe (of the Bench and Suyen Group), Cerveseria, Food District on the 5th, Kai, Maisen, Mangan and more soon.

If you love Dingdong Dantes and believe in all the brands he endorses, this would impress you the most. Food is good, very comforting and not too pricey. It is mid ranged, but worth it!

Animal Welfare and Love with Saving Flora

Wednesday, June 19, 2019

I believe in the goodness of the human spirit, that goes with how God had made man the caretaker of every living thing in this world. We don’t think about it seriously until species fall on near extinction, when it is too late. How can we not feel urgency? How can some people be cruel right?

There’s this film we watched this morning called SAVING FLORA. It’s about a girl who tries to save a circus elephant who was supposed to be euthanized because she couldn’t perform tricks anymore. The girl was the owner’s daughter. She took the elephant and tried to go through a thick forest, a raging river and tried to outwit two evil elephant hunters. It’s mostly a family drama, one which can teach your kids to love and care for animals and I’d suggest you do take them along so they could learn from it.

Guests during the block screening included volunteers from PAWS, so I guess that just legitimizes these all. It stars Jenna Ortega, David Arquette, Tom Arnold and Leonor Vareta. Loved the story and how it was made. I also love how it kinda hurts a bit, showing animal cruelty is real and very evident. Things should change. This film is released locally by WOMY FILM PRODUCTION, produced by Synkronized and directed by Mark Taylor.

Come treat your kids to a wonderful story.
