Arrived a wee bit early for celebrations but got the best seats this evening in Shopee's new office in BGC. To start off festivities, we got the treat of our lives when Shopee got the ORIGINAL members of Sex Boom Dancers back together for a once in a lifetime dance showdown. They still have it, it made me realize how I miss those Daisy Syete episodes in the afternoon... And their whole group were just fantastic!

My favorite Jopay was there too, a bit concentrated on the dance number though lol. They didn't want to show something half-hearted which is why they looked super dope even when the fans joined along the fun!

Juicy Lemon's JUICY LEGEND Tournament

Spent the afternoon at the event center of Isetan Recto in Manila for the Juicy Lemon JUICY LEGENDS TOURNAMENT for pro and non pro teams as they battle it out for Mobile Legends supremacy. 

This is the finals so pro teams Aether and Bren ESports Limitless had to see who wins the Php 100,000 prize while the Amateur division will have to see who wins the Php 50,000 prize pot between teams Liquid (waiting) and the winner between Dream High Gaming and Finesse Titans. (We watched this happen). Third place win will get them 10,000 while second place will get a guaranteed 20,000 pesos. Not bad eh? (Eventually DHG won and went to the finals).

They initially had 128 teams before they got here and yes, these are really good MLBB players. Some of them already won tournaments elsewhere so it's not a small thing, they're raring to go to the pro leagues and that needs a win.

The event was graced by Gamer Model Kimbey and popular YouTuber RODFIL of Moymoy Palaboy fame. 

For those who don't know, Juicy Lemon is a new brand of low calorie lemon soft drink under ARC Refreshments Corporation, the same makers of RC Cola, Seetrus, Fruity Soda Orange, Arcy's Root beer and Rite N Lite. 

In the end, declared winners for the amateurs were DREAM HIGH GAMING and for the pro's, it's BREN LIMITLESS. Congratulations on winning the Juicy Legends Tournament.

OLX Starts Carousell PH Merge July 15

It looks like OLX will cease to exist anymore as they merge operations with retail platform app Carousell this coming July 15, 2019. They have been asking permission to transfer accounts in the past few weeks but if users prefer to create new accounts, they can do that or just simply merge accounts if details are the same. Data is safe during this time and transactions will be done on the Carousell app once OLX becomes inaccessible in the coming days. But this is good news for people looking for bigger, better deals as they expand their active user base in the country. 

Raffy Montemayor GM of Carousell PH says “We are super grateful for your support all these years. OLX and Carousell has enormous potential in the Philippines and we have built strong, highly engaging platforms so we can help more Filipinos in the future. We have been working a lot on Carousell and on July 15, we will be migrating to the platform. Getting back from silicon valley, they thought about a platform that is simple and social. They won a hackathon and people got interested in their service. Carousell is now a big classifieds platform. We are already present in 6 markets including the Philippines and we have raised funds to expand in these markets. We are working on making our users find items easier. Can't wait to see how they make the company grow in the next few months, I guess they're going to be excessive with pressure but nothing that we can't handle.
