I kinda have a mixed skin type which means I have pretty oily stuff on my T zone and some dry parts on extremities like my feet and hands. Andrea and Khalil Shares Scary Stories for The Ghosting

Andrea Brillantes and Khalil Ramos will be frightening you in a few days (August 28). They’ll be starring in The Ghosting under Reality Entertainment.

Andrea shares “I am Grace, a college student and got approached by a girl I didn’t know. Then they warned me about it, too late. I have personal experiences in Taytay and I don’t know if my Yaya was fooling me, but I have seen and felt it in an abandoned house in Rizal. Even in ABSCBN they will go with you on elevators. I feel they are just around us. This is in house, no outside shots, so we were confined and I had to resort watching films that have the same feel. It was different than my previous projects. You will get it when you watch the movie. Most of the crew told us the place is really haunted, but we didn’t get to see one so we were a little disappointed. I have both treated horror and drama difficult because it’s emotions, this one is physical. I got thinner because of this movie. I also like gore, crying stuff, I am happy doing it. I hope people see how I work hard acting in both my TV dramas and this project.”

Khalil says “Ken is lonely, he was he one who helped Grace after getting curses. I investigated it, and it wasn’t an urban legend. He is also weird, he has the sixth sense I guess. The peg was to be a horror flick like The Shining etc but you will understand why the title of the film is that way when you see it. The title was already like this prior to that issue with other celebrities. For me to see is to believe but last night I have had felt something, heard it, someone sweeping the floor at 3am. Things like that made me really scared sometimes. This is my first horror movie, I like how they shot this. Coming into the project I was really excited because it became collaborative. We worked together to do the scenes well, it was different in horror films because you have to breathe differently while rolling. I am in the process of making a horror film, I have plans but I don’t want to watch it. Of course, in the future. As an actor I have a lot of challenges because you have to have played on skills, to be scared organically, I had to think of the actual kid scary, apply real life experiences to it even if I am working with actors, I think it is effective.”

Both have promising careers, and it looks like they have to balance passion. Khalil adds “I have been troubled to write songs and it is difficult to juggle things and write a two to three minute compelling song. I will be doing a lot of these things for the rest of my life.”

Again, The Ghosting will be showing on August 28. If you’re a fan of Andrea and Khalil, you must watch it, if you’re a fan of the genre, you need to watch it too. Will it be frightening as they say? You have to find out. No, you cannot have that little girl behind you watch it with you.

Ruru Madrid Outs Own Single “Nawawala”

Ruru Madrid, one of GMA’s finest actors has just hinted he’s launching a new music video this 3pm for a single he just released digitally called Nawawala. I’m not surprised because I’ve seen him sing several times when the phenomenal pairing with Gabbi Garcia was still a thing. Now that he’s taking strides on his own, Ruru is taking the leap and making this music career on the road and release his own kind of music. Will the public be as warm for his shot at recording?

Apparently yeah, because as we speak his single is being featured in Spotify’s New Album and Singles plus New Music Friday List. What does he think about this? He performed live for us at Ethan’s Cafe in Morato.

He says “I am a little shy about this (but he did good). I have a lot of things meant with this song coming from real life experiences, maybe not about me, maybe about you. I saw how good the composer made this song, he can do things on the spot. I might have to fix things on composing songs because I have some work from last year, and things are happening differently now. Every New Year I always host the show in Philippine Arena but I still get stage fright. A concert? Maybe, but I’d rather have a chill night in a bar and you never know, maybe someday in a bigger venue. I did songs for Toda but the first time I made a single was with GMA music when we did Let The Love Begin plus the one with other GMA artists, this is my comeback. Locally I love Hale, Parokya, Rivermaya, EHeads, December Avenue, Ben&Ben, maybe that’s why I like this style too. When I watch stuff, I don’t specifically look for a peg, I like a lot of bands. Autotunes are for more modern stuff, I can do rock ballads, I even recorded this in 20 minutes. The song only needs emotions, not necessarily love, we all go through that, I just had so much memories to pick out words from, it just came out naturally. When we shot the music video, I was just crying already, I am happy in what’s happening because this is a dream come true for me. When it comes to romance, or work, I am passionate about it. I hope soon, I’ll have an advocacy too that would become something like that. I hope a lot of people get to listen to it.”

The Next Big Action Star: Javi Benitez

This is the second time I'm meeting Javi Benitez, the first of which he was being launched together with 15 other men and women for StarMagic's Batch 2019. He's very tall, soft spoken, approachable but you can say he's a bit shy at times, but he's a very nice chap to talk to.

Over really good lunch at Trellis Manila in front of ELJ, he had a very nice grip, a very defined jawline and a very nice physique. He's definitely worked out. He's giving showbusiness a shot and he's got good reason, I guess he's that eager beaver type of guy that when he tries something out, he's going to be passionate about it, he worked so hard in workshops, with his peers and pros on how to be a fine actor, and he's really good. He just finished playing a bit role in The General's Daughter recently and people are starting to notice, he's got a lot of promise and he's not stopping there.

Javi will be starring in his own action film called Kid Alpha One, alongside a multitude of other shows on ABSCBN. He took out his phone to show us the trailer and man, he did not disappoint on how he did the action sequences. It didn't looked forced or cheap at all!

Javi definitely looked the part, and if this thing shows on theaters very soon, you're looking at the next big action hero on Philippine cinema. No wonder he idolizes Bruce Lee and other action stars! He also mentions that there is a lot of room to grow for this genre, and with the clamour of people looking for something good action wise is rising. He wants to step up to the plate and do just that!
